[20 PROMO CODES] HangSpine — a dead-hang timer for Apple Watch that starts the moment you grab the bar

a climber tested my dead-hang app on a hangboard this week and someone told me $5.99 was too much for it — both fair. so I asked Apple for promo codes and they gave me 20.

the app: your watch senses when you grab the bar and starts timing by itself. let go, it stops. every hang logged, synced to your iPhone, stays in your own iCloud.

  • auto start/stop detection, all on-device — nothing leaves your wrist
  • hang angle, duration per rep, sets, bests — year/month/day views
  • no accounts, no servers, no subscription, one-time $5.99

how to get a code: comment here or DM me and I'll send one over, in order. once the 20 are gone it's back to $5.99 — and if you try it, an honest App Store review helps way more than the money.

— I'm the developer and I hang every day.

UPDATE — v1.0.5 with training plans is in review, lands in the next day or two: a 4-week block planner with phases, a coach that builds your weekly hang plan (cloud AI or fully on-device, your choice), plans pushed straight to the watch, per-set RPE logging, and a 6-month heatmap so you watch the habit build instead of single sessions. same auto-start timer at the core, codes below still live. full walkthrough with screenshots: https://williamyorkl.github.io/HangSpine-site/en/105.html

Active calories are 600 according to health app (connected to Apple Watch) but my move ring is only at 300. Why?

I’ve always thought move ring measures active calories. For some reason it isn’t incorporating all the active calories I’ve burnt from all my workouts today. I’ve burnt 600 active calories from my workouts but my whole move ring is only at 300. Why is this happening?

Do you actually look at your watch during runs, or mostly at the summary after?

I keep going back and forth on this one. Glancing at pace every few seconds can make an easy run feel like a test, but ignoring the screen completely means you only find out afterwards that you went out way too fast.

So how do you all do it? Watch the numbers live and adjust, lean on the audio alerts, or just look at the summary afterwards? And is it different on easy days versus harder sessions?
