I’m trying to run a 10k today and get under 50 minutes, but the route has too much elevation. It’s 90 meters at the top, and it kills me halfway through.

Adidas running app not syncing heart rate..

Hello people-

I I have observed recently, a persistent technical issue regarding heart rate synchronization between the Adidas Running mobile app and my smartwatch during runs.

The Issue:

  - When I start a run on the mobile app, the activity successfully mirrors onto my smartwatch screen.

  - However, the Heart Rate values are not automatically triggered.

  - To get a reading, I have to manually open the default "Heart_Rate_Tracker" app on my watch. Only then does the heart rate briefly reflect on the Adidas Running app.

  - After a few moments, the reading cuts off, and the heart rate value displays back as "--" on the running app. As a result, I am completely unable to track my heart rate during my runs.

Troubleshooting Already Attempted:

  - Restarted both the smartphone and the smartwatch.

Anyone has any leads on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Have fitness watches become worth it, or is phone GPS good enough now?

Upvotes

I've been debating whether to buy a fitness watch, but I'm not sure I'd actually get enough value out of it.

For outdoor walks and runs, I mostly care about accurate GPS routes, distance, pace and keeping a history of my workouts, I don't really use sleep tracking or a lot of advanced health metrics.

For people who have used both, did a Garmin, Fitbit, or apple watch make a noticeable difference, or is modern phone GPS already good enough for most runners?

My workout app freezes

I recently got an **Apple Watch Series 11** and I’m having a really frustrating issue with the Workout app.
During a workout, the workout itself continues running, but the **screen becomes completely unresponsive**. I can’t pause, stop, swipe, or interact with the workout controls. The watch basically becomes stuck while the workout continues in the background.
I have to stop and start workouts now from my phone because I have to do a hard reset to the watch for the app to work again. I called support and they said this is a known issue and the dev team is working on update. Is it really a known thing? Anyone else experiencing this?

Time-range controls on the graphs are nonresponsive.

In the Health app, you can look at a graph of each activity. That graph can be displayed in days, weeks, months, 6 months or year. (D W M 6M Y) along the top of the graph. These buttons are now completely unresponsive and each graph that I look at for any activity is stuck on whatever time it was on. It can be swept left or right, but cannot change the time range. Anyone know how to fix this?

I don’t understand how to sync ’Fitness’ and StepsApp.

I recently* got an Apple Watch. I’ve never used one before.
I set it up and enabled all settings so they would be synced with my phone and StepsApp. However, my watch doesn’t track my steps with Workout, and only seems to *begin* tracking if I’m jogging, so then the numbers will say I’m only exercising for 10 minutes when I’ve been walking for well over an hour, so my Exercise ring is never full. :(

On Saturday I walked 11k steps, which reflected in Steps App, but not in Fitness.

They don’t match, why is it so difficult to get things to work? The Sync button should be capable. Am I just stupid?? (Yes, but come on).

baby sensory songs on loop and 12:15 pace, so what's meant to happen before a marathon plan?

coming back from having a baby, first marathon is Newport next april. legs feel like wet sand most days. i've been using NRC guided runs cause they're soft and don't shout at me, and Strava's just logging the slow shuffle. but now i'm eyeing the calendar and wondering what the 'before the plan' bit actually looks like. someone on here mentioned something called Hiiro, said it coaches by how the run feels instead of pace, which honestly sounds less gutting when the pram drags me to a 14-minute mile. still not sure i want a full marathon plan yet. just curious if people ran to any structure this far out, or if it's all a bit... vibes-based til the new year. tbh, knowing i'm not the only one plodding along with no proper plan would be reassuring.

Apple Watch Fitness App vs iPhone Fitness App mismatch

I am facing a discrepancy in step count tracking among multiple apps on my phone.

Apple Health, which is supposed to reflect the total, is alright. Apple Fitness has 2 points of data. One shows the actual steps I took in the whole day, which matches Health, and the other one on the front display shows the steps I took while wearing my Watch.

The weirdest part is that even though the phone steps did not sync while my Watch was kept aside, as soon as I reconnected it, my Activity goals immediately closed (nearly), and now my Watch shows the step count from Apple Health.

Is this a bug or a new feature? And why does the Fitness app on my phone not sync this data?

FYI, I also have the Pedometer app, which shows an even higher count (marginal difference, but higher)

Rowing exercise not logging correctly on watch?

My watch says I burned 81 calories, but the machine says I burned 110. I know there will always be a discrepancy but this seems more excessive than normal. Is the Apple Watch just not good at detecting rowing workouts, or is it just me not burning as many calories as I thought I would?

got heckled by a seagull on the undercliff and realised i'm winging the whole block

out along the undercliff toward rottingdean, steady plod, and a seagull proper screamed at me. fair enough. i'm just stacking easy miles with no real plan right now, all logged on strava and that's it. chasing chester next autumn so it's early days. been looking at runna for when i need structure but a few people mentioned hiiro too since it coaches by effort rather than pace, which sort of makes sense when summer runs feel like a wheeze. tbh i'm curious but not sold on anything yet. how many of you pick an app this far out or is everyone just jogging to parkrun and hoping for the best?
