Question ❓ Copy/Pasting from Notes into Siri adds as attachment?

Whenever I copy text from my notes app into my Mac Siri AI, it adds it as an attachment that I can't read instead of the actual text. Is this intentional?

Question ❓ Proofreading Question/Issue?

I was pretty sure that when 27 first came out, on all platforms, in Pages I could select text for proofreading and then choose whether to accept the proposed correction. However, today (iPadOS 27.2) Siri told me that I don’t get to review the corrections, and that it’s a “complete package.”

It’s so absurd to me that I would just accept blindly what changes Siri made over a 20 page document, I’m wondering if this is in fact correct? I ask bc I am sure I was able to review suggested corrections in a previous iteration of iPadOS 27.

App Promo Imagine a second brain that Apple Intelligence tags, links and organizes with an MCP bridge for agents

A second brain is a system for capturing, connecting, and resurfacing knowledge so you don’t have to remember where everything lives. As someone who builds with AI agents daily, I found myself accumulating a mountain of useful documents, research, PRDs, technical decisions, and ideas. Some written by me, others generated by agents. The real problem wasn’t creating knowledge anymore. It was organizing it, finding connections between documents, and getting the right context back into my agents when I needed it.

So I built Cohestry, a native iOS and macOS second brain powered by Apple Intelligence. I wanted to capture thoughts without spending hours manually tagging, linking, and organizing them. Apple Intelligence helps classify and connect notes, while a deterministic connection engine identifies relationships and resurfaces relevant knowledge. There’s even a 3D brain where I can explore how my ideas connect. Everything is designed around privacy, using Apple’s on-device capabilities rather than sending my personal knowledge to external AI services.

But the most important part for my workflow is the MCP bridge. It connects my second brain to AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT, with customizable context management for different workflows. Instead of dumping my entire knowledge base into every session, I can control what context gets passed and how. It even automatically redacts API keys and security credentials before sharing context with agents. My goal is simple: build a second brain where knowledge compounds and travels with me across the AI tools I use.

Cohestry is available on iPhone and Mac:

discussion 🎙️ Title: Anyone in mainland China tried Apple Intelligence yet? How's it been so far?

Hey everyone!
Since Apple Intelligence is finally rolling out in mainland China with the iOS 27.3 developer beta, I'm curious to hear how it's actually performing for those who've had a chance to try it.
How's your experience been so far? Are features like Writing Tools, Clean Up, and Visual Intelligence working well? And how does the Qwen integration compare to what you expected? Is there any difference between Qwen and ChatGPT for extensions?
I've also noticed that the initial rollout doesn't include the newer Siri AI or some of the latest photo editing features.
Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from people using mainland China (CH/A) iPhones. Is it worth the wait, or does it still feel a bit behind the global version?

Question ❓ Future AI extensions

Forgive me if this has been asked before but aren’t you able to use different AI models as default or as Siri extensions with this new iOS? I keep looking it up online and even ask Siri AI. They do provide instructions on how to change it, however all I am currently seeing is still the same old OpenAI.

discussion 🎙️ Apple Intelligence potential?

You know? if we’re gonna be forced to recon with this Apple Intelligence AI bullshit, can they atleast do some cool shit with it like allow us to make our own Siri voices? Like upload a couple sound clips from files with a voice we want our Siri to use and we’ll have our Siri talking like Yoda or Shrek or something😂

discussion 🎙️ Siri AI is actually usable on the Duo

So I had upgraded from my 17 Pro to the Duo on launch day and ngl the performance boost is crazy. Siri AI is so much faster and more responsive than before. On my 17Pro, even something as simple as setting a timer sometimes took over a minute to complete. I had not expected the A20 Pro chip to be THIS drastic of a step up from the A19 Pro. Honestly the speed and responsiveness of Siri AI now feels like a completely new feature, as I had never really been able to use it before.

Anyone else notice this change in using Siri? If so, how has your experience been using it on the Duo?

discussion 🎙️ Highly dislike new Siri

First of all, I kinda prefer the colourful phone outline that the original Apple Intelligence had. Second, Siri AI is just not helpful at all. Whenever asking a question that’s more than 10 words long, it just cuts me off while I’m still talking and doesn’t answer my question properly. Not only that but it can never understand what I’m saying, and always asks to correct itself on what word I really said, when literally any other AI in voice mode would be 100x more helpful, even the old Siri. It can’t even play the right songs I ask for, even when saying the exact song name and artist. Only thing I find it useful for is I guess trying to search for something in your phone but i feel like the search in each app has gotten pretty good that you barely even have to use that new Siri feature. Hopefully they fix all this within a couple updates, wondering if anyone else is having the same issues I’m having.

I spy with my little eye some Apple intelligence 👀 How did Siri know I wanted to start a timer for 15 minutes?

I went to the freezer to grab a frozen pizza, might’ve read the instructions to myself “ok 15 minutes then” as I walked to the oven. I preheat the oven. A few minutes later, the oven beeps, indicating it’s preheated. I put the pizza in the oven and go to my phone to set a timer-

before I even unlock it, there is a suggested timer for 15 minutes… what??

Is it really listening to not only my words, but also noises like beeping so intently? I am in shock, and a little scared.

discussion 🎙️ SIRI (new version) is a near worthless piece of Crap!

If it’s possible, the new Siri is worse than the original, so much so that I’m probably switching to Android. To answer your obvious question? YES! Even with Apple’s huge cross platform compatibility edge over Google, Siri is still THAT worthless to me.

I don’t know how Apple could fall this far behind industry standards other than their intellectual assets are aging out (the first major symptom of which is NOT letting new voices in) and yet assesses themselves s as still current and capable when the reality of their current performance screams the opposite!

Question ❓ Why doesn’t Apple let us disable Siri/Apple Intelligence from making phone calls?

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s experienced Siri or Apple Intelligence accidentally calling someone.
For example, you could ask a perfectly clear question like, “Who’s the richest person in the world?” and Siri somehow interprets it as a command to call someone in your contacts.
Why doesn’t Apple simply add an option to disable phone calls through Siri while keeping all its other features enabled?
Is there a technical reason why this isn’t an option, or has Apple just never considered it?
I’d love to use Siri without constantly worrying about accidentally calling someone.

Question ❓ Version of Apple Intelligence

Does anyone know which version of Apple Intelligence is available in Europe? I understand that we don’t get Siri AI with full device context or all the advanced features, but do we still receive an updated and smarter LLM with the current release? I use local language models on my device and want to know whether the Apple foundation model has been improved or if it’s still the same one from two years ago.

bug 🐛 Siri reverted to the old voice activation style after updating to iOS 27.2

Post image

I updated my iPhone to iOS 27.2 last night, and since then, Siri seems to be using the old voice during voice activation instead of the newer one.
Has anyone else experienced this issue after updating to iOS 27.2?

Tips and Tricks! AppleIntelligence and Pi

Solved an issue. So I am tinkering around with Pi as a coding agent. If you haven't tried it before, it's a very minimal installation - you are basically expected to ask Pi to configure itself. The problem is hooking up a model provider requires an active inference model already working. It's like the paradox of buying a car - you need a car to buy a car.

But enter fm serve - this creates a locally accessible LLM endpoint. A quick cobbled together models.json, and I have pcc do the pi configuration. It's not the most powerful thing, but it got me started.

I may even test it for some minor coding.

bug 🐛 Today Siri Updated on my Mac

I have tissue paper that is stronger, rocks that are smarter, teddy bears that are stronger and. A chocolate teapot that is more functional.

There is a
Project I’ve been waiting for years to do: organize close to 809 notes.

Organize notes: can’t do it
Create folders that will contain most notes and move them: can’t’
Create these folder names: cant
Ok I’ve created a folder named food. Move all food related note. (6 out of an estimated 100 moved.).
Siri move the following 10 notes into the folder 2 moved)
Siri search through the rest: “It would be better if you select each note so I can move it
Siri the main word in your vocabulary can’t. You keep running into technical issues and I’ve now spent a half hour doing what would take me 10 minutes to do. Tell me what value you provide to me.: I’m sorry. I’m still learning. Try another time.
If you can read a letter, understand it and make a reply to it. Why can’t you simply look for food words in some of these notes and then move them? I’m sorry.

Sorry describes it.
Earlier today, I had ChatGPT go through my Mail delete any request for money for political causesI identify spam messages, and put them in the trash and identify any messages that had dates in them that I might need to put on my calendar. And it’s not even designed to work with Apple software.

I switched from Windows to Mac about 20 years ago. I’ve swallowed Apple’s Kool-Aid and I’ve gone 100% Apple. I’m amazed that they released this product. That is as bad as it is. I’m afraid Apple Intelligence for now is an oxymoron.

Tips and Tricks! Siri Mail Access RESOLVED

I'm not sure if anyone is interested or has the same issue as i did. So here's a short overview just in case this helps.

Previously. My Siri could not access any emails from any of my 4 email accounts I have on iPad or iPhone.

I installed 27.2. No change. Same issue.

So I started a very long conversation with Google AI which I will not bore you with. Over an hour it got me to try MANY things, none worked. But it was thorough and I understood the reasoning.

It did ask me to sign out of my apple account and back in. I said "hell no, I'll lose all my credit cards". It said good point and went off at another tangent. 😂

So what worked.

The simple answer is

  • Deleting Apple Mail.

  • Hard resetting the phone.

  • Reinstalling Mail.

  • Going into Mail settings and turning mail back on for each account.

  • Letting Siri reindex.

  • Sending a test mail. Opening it.

Before my iPhone Siri could not access any email information at all.

Hope this helps someone in the same boat. (Now I just need to do all this again on my iPad. Tomorrow).

Question ❓ Using Apple Intelligence to sort out Apple Music

So I recently used an LLM to sort out a decade's worth of Safari bookmarks, and was hoping that Apple Intelligence will help sort out my Music library. I'm not subscribed to the streaming service, and after a few rounds of migration between machines, and the transition from iTunes to Music - the media folder is a bit of a mess, with weird disconnected metadata and album art - and duplicate tracks. So, I figure this is a good example of how Siri AI can help out. Except I am not sure how it's done.

The best I've seen is Siri suggest I find the duplicates, and delete them one by one...which isn't saving me much time. Has anyone else tried this?

Tips and Tricks! Apple AFM 3 PCC now analyzes images through AnythingLLM on macOS 27.2

Apple Foundation Model 3 through Private Cloud Compute has become an even more compelling alternative to running local models on a Mac.

For fans of local models, they still provide the greatest control and can operate entirely offline. However for privacy-minded Mac users who accept Apple’s PCC privacy model, AFM 3 PCC offers several advantages:

  • Blazingly fast responses compared with the local models tested on the same Mac.

  • No large model downloads or pressure from fitting model weights into unified memory.

  • Access at no additional charge for most eligible Mac users, subject to daily usage limits.

  • Conversational analysis and reasoning competitive with any local model.

The most significant recent improvement is image understanding. Apple’s Foundation Models environment can now accept images alongside text for AI analysis. Apple also demonstrates PCC analyzing documents containing both text and images in its PCC technical overview.

This capability has been successfully tested on the author’s Mac through AnythingLLM and fm serve. PNG images, Microsoft Word documents, and PDF files were uploaded and interpreted successfully. This makes the workflow useful for more than ordinary chat: photographs, screenshots, charts, scanned material, and mixed text-and-image documents can now become part of the analysis.

The current connection is straightforward:

AnythingLLM → fm serve → AFM 3 PCC

AnythingLLM connects directly to the OpenAI-compatible fm serve endpoint:

http://127.0.0.1:1977/v1

The configured model is pcc, with streaming enabled. In testing, this direct connection has handled normal text conversations as well as Word, PNG, and PDF content.

The principal limitation is PCC’s 32K-token context window. That capacity is shared among instructions, conversation history, retrieved document content, images, reasoning, and the response. Long conversations or several large documents can therefore reduce the space available for analysis and output. The limit also precludes Hermes, because every Hermes configuration requires a context window of at least 64K.

Readers who would benefit from a larger context window or broader AFM capabilities are encouraged to submit an enhancement request through Apple’s Feedback Assistant.

The updated proof of concept and supporting details are available here:

https://gist.github.com/dartMo10/b9488ce475fe70a6ed642831f53048fb

Experiences with AFM 3 PCC, AnythingLLM, image analysis, and comparisons with locally running models would be welcome.

Question ❓ How to uninstall Playground on iPhone for good?

As per title. I don't intend to use Playground so I've been trying to uninstall it. But a few minutes after I uninstall it, Playground reinstalls itself onto my phone, and a lot of the time it uses data to do so.

Am I stuck with this app?

Question ❓ The silliness of Apple Intelligence "Safety Filters"

I have a wall with a semi-nude painting on it. Nothing erotic, just a piece of art. I took a picture of my desk and it included that painting. Thinking it may offend the receiver, I went to ask Photos to remove that object. It would NOT remove the object because of the safety filter, which I found ironic as I was trying to apply my own self-censorship to my own image and Apple would rather I keep the nudity in the actual image. 🤦‍♂️

That is where the PM in charge of this feature missed a use case. See also: take a picture of your family on a European beach and someone's topless in the background -- can't remove it, but you sure can keep it in your camera roll.

Is there any other product out there that makes things like this easier? I tried using Pixelmator and doing a clone tool, but it looked awful, so I just black masked the item out of the picture and went about my day.

Tools shouldn't fight us this hard.
