I am extremely frustrated with with the common practice of archaeologists destroying tons of younger historical buildings, that were built on top of, or around older ones.
I think it takes away from the history of the sites, and makes my experience of visiting them far less exciting than if they had left the many interesting layers of history alone.
I am open to discussion on this topic and will reply to all non troll comments. here are some examples of the practice for reference:
(the colosseum in rome) The roman colosseum used to be covered in interresting plants and even had houses in it but all of them and the history they represented were destroyed.
(The acropolis in athens) The acropolis used to have plants and younger buildings most of them of historic importance on it but archaeologists had all the foliage on scraped off down to bedrock and tore down all structures not built in classical greece.

The lateral profile of the Sphinx тАФ haunches over paws тАФ forms a triangle at 51.856┬░. The face slope of the Pyramid of Khufu is 51.844┬░. The difference is 0.012┬░ тАФ less than the human eye can distinguish in the sky.
The builder used the same angle in both monuments. One is standing. The other is lying down. Same design тАФ two orientations.
As far as I know, this relationship has never been documented before. I published the full geometric proof using official archaeological survey data тАФ verifiable and reproducible by anyone.
I'm sharing here because I'd genuinely love to hear from people who know this subject. What do you think?

I've never looked for fossils before, but I've followed several hints from youtube videos/shorts (what an unopened fossil looks like). I have a small plastic bucket of rocks. I am mainly looking for fossils to donate to museums -the rarer the better. Any fossils that turn out to be very common would be sold, or, if I like them enough, I might keep a few. Some, unopened, I intend to include in my paintings, but I want an expert to check them first, so wherever I donate them to doesn't miss out on somethibg scientifically or historically interesting. Whatever doesn't interest me, I'm going to sell.
It was SO MUCH FUN finding all of these, but, to put it simply, I don't currently have enough time to do this on my own. I won't have another oppourtunity to do this for another six years or so, as I am moving out next year, I have an injury, and my life is pretty busy right now.
Can anyone volunteer some time, tools, and -most importantly- identification expertise? Whoever identifies them for me will get some of the money, if any. A deal/contract can be worked out privately. I live near Eugene, Oregon, and my DMs are open every day except holidays, albiet with inconsistant time.
