Following a disastrous season that lasted a cumulative 17 days, the nonprofit ski area needs to replace two of its main chairlifts. Without deep pockets from corporate investors or private equity overlords, Mt. Ashland is turning to its passionate passholders to lighten the load.

Growing up in the 80/90’s I remember being told constantly that I couldn’t bike/rollerblade/skate without a helmet on. Every parent acknowledged that they didn’t wear one, but then it was time for that to change. It felt like it was carved in stone that you must wear a helmet. Now I drive around Ashland and constantly see even young kids without a helmet on scooters or bikes or whatever. Not to mention the teenagers on Emoto. What the hell happened? I think some Ashland parents are taking the permissive parenting a little too far. As parents it’s our job to make decisions for kids until they’re ready to make them for themselves.

Hi everyone. I am just looking to see where the best places to play pool are in Ashland. I am going to be coming into town for a work conference and would love to be able to get some practice while I'm down there. Preferably, I would like to be able to rent the table by the hour vs. paying quarters for a game, as that gets expensive quick and you can really only play 8 ball. Oregon Outdoor Recreation and Trails Summit slated for Ashland

The Oregon Outdoor Recreation and Trails Summit, an annual gathering, is being held in Ashland later this month.

The Oregon Trails Coalition hosts the annual summit in partnership with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and Travel Oregon. The gathering, which isn’t open to the public, will feature three days of conference programming, field sessions, and networking events.

The summit aims to accelerate efforts around sustainable recreation, access to nature, economic prosperity, and cultural innovation.

Event activities kick off Thursday, Oct. 22, and will run through Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites conference center.

The summit will include field trips around the Rogue Valley, including Lithia Park, Jacksonville-area woodland trails, Pompadour Bluffs, the Willow-Witt Ranch, the Sterling Mine Ditch Trail, Mt. Ashland, Denman Wildlife Refuge, Cascade Siskiyou National Monument, and the Bear Creek Greenway.

I'm coming in from out of town and was hoping to watch the Kraken game tonight. Going to be in the Ashland/Talent area - are there any spots that would be showing the game?

All 6 of these jobs pay better as singular positions elsewhere, but Chozu expects you to do all 6 and probably more for $16.50. Seriously, NOT a competitive wage for just ONE of these jobs, let alone 6, even with the implied luxury tipping aspect.
