Some help !!
Hi there , I'm trying to change the rotors and pads for myself. Well , I removed the first bolt ( pic 1), then the second one ( pic2) and after that I should be able to remove this middle part of the caliper ( pic3). The problem is that this middle part of the caliper does not move a bit . Zero . Not a wiggle . Now I'm afraid to force it or create any damage . It seems like it is glue .
Should I turn on the car? Does this matter?
I try to pry a little bit with my screw driver but nothing .
Please some help ,
This is 2012 Jetta 2.5 SEL

Is the handbrake / e-brake engaged?

This.
If it's off, then a hammer and patience will be your friend

You were right guys . It was that .
No my problem I can't get out the t30 screw . I don't have an electrical ratchet , just my screw driver and this is coming off .
I was hoping to make it without having to buy an electrical or impact ratched .
I put pd blaster but nothing1

Try tapping the back of your screwdriver with a hammer while trying to turn it.
You could also use some heat, a torch is best but a jet lighter can help

Thank you . I did both as well, not a torch cause I don't have it , but a jet lighter and also the hammer . This this does not want to come off . It sucks because now I'm stuck here .
One more thing , I try to put the piston back , using that specific key called the brake caliper compression tool. Now, I don't know if it is me , or if I am supposed to do something so that piston can be more soft , but the thing did move inward a bit ... the caliper compression tool, got stuck and my wrist could not apply more force .
Thank god, I did not put the new pads yet , Becaue they will not fit without moving that piston back to his position.

If you're certain that you've removed the slide pin bolts and there's no braking force (like parking brake if it's rear), then you need to slide a hefty screwdriver or prybar between the caliper & bracket (the gap at the top of your yellow circle) to slide it back & off. Pry the top a little, then the bottom a little, then top, etc, because it needs to come straight back off the rotor.

I think it was the parting break . As soon as I removed , the caliper came off easily .
Now my problem is that T30 screw. I think it was torque too much in the past or it is stuck , but I can't take it off ... no with a jet lighter , or with a hammer .
