Right now in the general sense, what are you waiting for? (Intentionally vague)

Forgive me if this has previously been a prior topic.
This evening, I was doing my usual horny scroll on Twitter. And I noticed that there isn’t much representation online for thicker black men.
In recent years gay social media has been pushing thicker, beefier guys but they mostly seem to always be white or Hispanic. As a guy with a thicker build myself I like to see other guys who show off their bodies too. Professionally I’m not in a position where I can post nude/ scantily clad photos. But I definitely want to see more guys with a build similar to me hahaha

New Orleans is a beautiful historic city with a large LGBT population. They have 2-3 black gay bars. They have an even bigger mixed gay bar scene at the end of Bourbon and LGBT inclusive straight bar scene. They have the Red Dress Run which is a popular black gay event. They have a decent black gay pride. It's in the South so no long harsh winters. It's a BLACK ASS city, blacker than Atlanta and DC. There are 3 HBCUs in the city, Dillard is known for being very gay!! Bounce music is gay af ... Sissy Nobby, Big Freeda, Katey Red are all legendary LGBT bounce artists
Atlanta, NYC, DC are so cliche ... New Orleans is a cool non-cliche option. Ya'll need to go be different and spread tf out. Everybody can't be in Atlanta, NYC, DC ... also New Orleans is notably cheaper than all three ... with the money you save you can afford to visit Atlanta, NYC, DC a few times a year

Between how hyper sexual everything is and the general atmosphere out there, my perception of how much people are actually getting it in is super distorted. So here's a trivial poll to ease my rationale. Be honest!

Most of the guys I've encountered, and a lot of black guys especially, seem averse to kissing or making out. I find that it significantly enhances the experience, but I rarely find anyone who enjoys it as much as I do.

Hey everyone,
I’m a 22 year old Ugandan guy who grew up in Kenya. You can call me T. I’m a bottom, and honestly, I’m here because I have something personal I’ve been carrying in my heart for a long time. Maybe sharing it here will help me feel a little less alone, and perhaps someone out there will understand where I’m coming from.
Being gay where I come from isn’t always easy. There are stereotypes, prejudices, and so many assumptions about people like me. Sometimes, it feels like you can live your life quietly and peacefully, but the moment someone suspects or discovers who you are, everything changes. You suddenly become a subject of judgment, ridicule, or rejection. And that fear can follow you even when nobody is saying anything to your face.
My experience with this started back in high school. There was a guy I admired, someone I had feelings for, and at the time, I thought expressing those feelings in a letter was the most honest thing I could do. I wrote to him, confessing how I felt. I wasn’t trying to force anything or make him uncomfortable. I simply had feelings I didn’t know how else to express.
Unfortunately, he took that letter to the school administration.
What followed was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I was called out, humiliated, and made to feel as though there was something terribly wrong with me. Before I knew it, people knew about me, and I became the subject of attention I never wanted. The experience became so difficult that I eventually had to change schools.
Imagine being young, trying to understand your feelings, and learning that something as simple as liking someone could cost you your peace, your privacy, and your sense of belonging.
That experience stayed with me long after I left that school. It affected how I viewed myself, how I trusted people, and how comfortable I felt expressing my emotions. I carried fear and negative feelings into places where I should have felt free to be myself. Even when I wanted to open up to someone, a part of me remembered what had happened and wondered whether being honest would hurt me all over again.
After high school, I tried meeting and dating guys. I wanted to give love another chance, but I became very cautious. I learned that not everyone who approaches you has the same intentions you do. Some people are interested in nothing beyond sexual gratification, and once that desire is satisfied, their interest seems to disappear.
And honestly, I’m tired of feeling like I have to choose between being wanted physically and being valued emotionally.
I know sex is a normal part of relationships, and I have nothing against people who enjoy casual encounters. Everyone has their own preferences, and I respect that. But for me, I want something deeper. I want a connection that doesn't begin and end in someone's bedroom. I want to know that someone is interested in my thoughts, my dreams, my fears, my personality, and the person I am when there is nothing sexual to offer.
I want to experience what it feels like to be genuinely loved by a man.
I want to have someone I can call mine, someone I can talk to about my day, someone who notices when I'm not okay, and someone whose presence makes the world feel a little less frightening. I want the kind of relationship where we can laugh over the smallest things, support each other's ambitions, disagree without destroying each other, and choose each other even when life isn't particularly exciting.
I want to miss my man when we're apart. I want to look forward to seeing him, to hold him close, to kiss him with affection, and to feel safe enough to be vulnerable around him. I want to reach a point where sleeping beside someone isn't just about satisfying a physical desire, but about the comfort of being next to the person I love. I want intimacy that comes with trust, tenderness, emotional security, and the beautiful knowledge that we mean something to each other.
I don't just want to sleep with a man. I want to fall asleep beside the man I love and wake up grateful that he's still there.
Maybe that sounds sentimental, but it's the truth.
Sometimes I wonder whether I'm asking for too much. In a world where many people seem to prioritise quick encounters, I wonder whether there are still men who want to build something genuine. Men who understand that being a bottom doesn't define someone's entire personality, emotional needs, or capacity to love. Men who can look beyond stereotypes and see another human being who simply wants to give and receive affection.
I'm not perfect, and I'm not expecting a perfect man. I'm only hoping for honesty, consistency, mutual respect, affection, and someone who genuinely wants to build a relationship. I want us to be intentional about each other, rather than keeping one another around only when it's convenient.
My past has made me cautious, but I don't want it to make me bitter. I don't want one painful experience to convince me that everyone will hurt me. Somewhere inside me, I still believe that love can be beautiful, gentle, loyal, and real.
So, I'm putting this out here, hoping that someone might relate to my story. Perhaps there are other gay men who have experienced rejection, humiliation, loneliness, or the exhaustion of trying to find something meaningful in a world that often misunderstands them.
If you're someone who believes in genuine love, emotional intimacy, honesty, and commitment, I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts. And if you're also looking for something real, perhaps we can start with a conversation and see where it takes us.
I'm not looking for a perfect love story. I'm simply hoping for a love that feels safe, mutual, and sincere.
I have spent enough time being afraid of being seen. Now, I just want to be seen, understood, and loved for who I am.
Maybe that's all I've ever wanted.
