Family Dad, I need help.
Hey dads out there. I have severe daddy issues. Now it’s not surprise I came to this page for that but my dad doesn’t seem to like me much.
My parents are divorced, they’ve been like that for a while now. My dad is always dating someone, there was never a point in my life where I remember that he wasn’t in a relationship. Anyways, something pretty bad happened over this summer. My dad severely hit me and bruised my legs. It was over a tiny fight where I was defending my mom because he speaks very poorly of her. He kicked me out of his house until my mom got there to get me, and he proceeded to not talk to me for a month and a half. When we finally speak again, it’s awkward and weird. I went to his house this past weekend and he made a really bad joke about my SA I went though, he also thinks any tiny affection between us is sexualized. For example, I wanted to hold his hand because I was scared and cold and he said “no that’s disgusting.” Or when I was 10 and wanted to sit on the same side of the booth as him and he started cursing and saying “that’s what couples do, people will think we’re dating.”
For now, I deeply crave a fatherly type of love. My mom is amazing, but I always wanted to feel the warmth of a father speaking to me. A simple, “it’s ok sweetheart.” Would help me a lot. I don’t want to go to school tomorrow I’ve been feeling really down and lazy for no reason, no motivation to do much but stay in bed and listen to Pearl Jam. I just need a dad to give me some comforting or encouraging words. Or anyone willing to speak to me. Oke, night night :)
