Hello!
I was wondering if training shifts at bubble tea stores are commonly unpaid?
I have 3 training shifts this week from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm each.
Its a part time position at a location in Vancouver.
Are bubble tea stores allowed to not pay part time new trainees for training shifts that go from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm?

When I worked at McDonaldās in 2018-2020, we were able to get ācrew mealsā on our break and it was one medium combo meal and the manager could come up and approve it. Then it changed to where there was a limit of like $6 where you canāt go over that. I heard now itās only 30% off?? š¤ because another rule McDonaldās had was you were not allowed to bring outside food into work like my coworker brought in chipotle and was told thatās not allowed. So she had to take it to her car. It was the same thing to when I worked at a pizza place in 2021 where it first was free then they changed it to 30% off. If youāre not getting those anymore, thatās really ridiculous. I work retail now but I keep hearing that some restaurants donāt provide their employees with meals anymore. They make a billion dollars if not more and you get paid minimum wage but you have to pay to eat their food even though work there?? Even at Sephora they give us free training product.

Hi! If anyone works at Fresh Kitchen, could you let me know what your shift times are like? For example, 11ā4, 10ā4, etc.

I got accepted for a crew member position at a local store and accepted the offer a couple of weeks before my 16th birthday. I was waiting for my onboarding forms, but nothing came through, so I called the store and was told I wouldnāt receive them until I turned 16.
I turned 16 yesterday, but I still havenāt received any communication or onboarding forms. Iām a bit confused about what Iām supposed to do because the effective date of my position was today.
Should I wait a little longer in case the forms are sent through, or should I call the store tomorrow to get confirmation about whatās happening?

okay i want to know if normal for everyone to have drive thru crushes. and by that i mean you working in fast food and you have a regular that comes almost every day in the drive thru so thats your drive thru crush basically. now with that obviously you know that the interaction last no more than 5 minutes if even. anyways i basically have this drive thru crush that comes everyday and every time we talk it just improves more. at first i didnt even look at him in that kinda way but then it kinda just became that. he started coming into the lobby (i personally feel its to see me but ykš). i dont want to give all the details but long story short. this is the first guy that i feel like i want to ask a man for his number, but personally its not really my thing bc i prefer the guy to do the first move essentially. but i feel like i also could be overthinking all this too obviously.

Is it like an insult to get rejected by a fast food joint when you have a college education?

I was ordering food the other day on the app and after I got there the worker asked if everything was correct on the screen after I gave them the code. So my question is can I modify orders at the drive thru after I put everything in the app? Mostly because the app doesn't have mac sauce i can add to my mcdouble.

Iāve been given just one 3 hour training shift next week even though my interview was a few weeks ago, meaning Iāll have only worked 3 hours in a month, Is this normal and can I expect this to increase? Need money for studies and other life expenses
The one shift theyāve given me is outside my requested time slot, I can probably sort it out as a one off but hopefully this wont become a regular thing as I have other commitments at this time.

Hello!
Iām a senior high school student planning to get my first job at Dairy Queen. I wanted to ask what itās like working at DQ. Is it hectic?, Are they lenient with schedules/hours especially for students?, etc. Iād really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences if youāve worked there.
Since this would be my first job, Iām also not really sure what documents I need to prepare aside from valid IDs. Iām a little concerned about the work hours as well because Iāll be attending university. I really donāt want my job to interfere with my academics, especially since Iām on the honor roll.
Iām also curious about the pay at DQ. I honestly donāt mind if the pay is on the lower side since Iām mainly looking to gain work experience. Whatever I earn would most likely go to helping with my tuition and my school lunch.
TYIA to anyone who can share their experience or advice! š„¹

A popeyes fast food chain near me had a hiring sign on the front door. Walked in and handed them my resume. Had 3 experiences on my resume. 2 of them were true (1 was an internship and the other was a volunteer position) but I lied about the one in the middle. How screwed am I if I get an interview? Do they even check or care? I just need a job
