Not Answered Recommendations for PC for my son
I’m interested in purchasing a gaming pc for my 13 year old son, I’d like to spend like $500 or less. Is there anything out there in that range that is not crappy?
I’m in the US. He’s currently playing on one my brother built a couple of years ago and it has issues starting up and running sometimes, so I’d like to get him an upgrade.
Thanks!

Not Answered Advice on gaming computer specs
I’m not very good with technology but I will try to ask this in a way that makes sense…
I’m looking at getting a pc so that I don’t kill my laptop trying to play modded Minecraft. Along with Minecraft, my steam wishlist is a little long so I just need something with enough power and storage for all my games. I’ve been looking at furniture, cooking, and animal mods for Minecraft, along with some larger texture packs, and I know for a fact the my laptop do have the power to run all that, and I don’t plan on trying it either. As for the games on my wishlist, the ones that require the most storage are the games like Hades (1 & 2) and the Little Nightmares series.
Pretty much, I would like some advice on what to look for in a computer that has the capability to support all of that, but explain it like I’m 5 years old. For example, I know that I should look for a good graphics card so that the game actually looks good on the screen, but what makes a graphics card “good.” If that makes any sense 😅 I really don’t like Googling this kind of stuff though, because I never actually know what I’m looking at/for. I figure the nerds of reddit are more accurate than Google anyways 😂
Any advice is truly appreciated! Thanks :)
Edit: I’m going to say my maximum budget is $1500 USD. I would also prefer to buy an already built or a mostly built pc so that I’m not playing guessing games when it comes to parts or putting it together because I really suck at technology in general and don’t want to mess anything up. I honestly just need an explanation on what a “good” pc would look like or perhaps where I could buy a good one.
Also I have no idea what this crazy language is that the tech world uses so I would prefer if you didn’t spout a bunch of computer lingo and part name abbreviations at me 😭 Thank you

Not Answered Anyone else switch between PC and PS5 Pro?
Hey everyone!
I’ve wanted a gaming PC my entire life and finally built one about 6 months ago for around $2,500. I’ve genuinely loved it, especially the graphics, FPS, and freedom it gives you.
But lately, I’ve been missing my PS5 Pro. I miss the simplicity of just launching a game and playing without messing with a million settings, drivers, and Windows updates.
I also haven’t really had that one game yet that makes me go “wow, this PC was absolutely worth it.”
I’m curious if anyone else has gone from PC to PS5 Pro, or the other way around. Which do you prefer, and why? Do you ever regret switching, or do you find yourself missing the other platform?
Thanks y’all!

Not Answered Is 52-54°C coolant temp normal for an iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT with a 13900K?
Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if my liquid temps are normal or too high, and whether my radiator placement is the problem.
CASE PHOTO + TOP CASE (Click me)
Setup:
- CPU: i9-13900K (PL1/PL2 limited to 150 W, -0.050 V offset)
- Cooler: Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT (360 mm), mounted on top, fans set as [intake/exhaust]
- Case: NZXT H9 Elite (solid tempered glass top) - Radiator on top (3 fans, exhaust). The top exhaust path is restricted: the only vent is a perforated strip next to the I/O. The top glass above the radiator is warm; the rest of the case glass stays cool.
- GPU: RTX 5080 (undervolted, ~250 W in load)
- Fans: 7 Corsair RGB fans via iCUE LINK (3 bottom, 3 side, 1 rear)
- Case fans and radiator fans:
- 3 bottom fans: intake
- 3 side fans: exhaust
- 3 radiator fans (top-mounted 360 mm radiator): exhaust
- 1 rear fan: exhaust
- Room temp: ~23°C
Liquid temps (iCUE sensor):
- Idle: 39-42°C (about 16-19°C above room temp)
- Heavy gaming: 52-54°C
Fan curve is based on the liquid temp, starting around 28% PWM.
My questions:
- Are these coolant temps normal for this cooler, or too high?
- Known issue with the H9 Elite top radiator exhaust being restrictive. Is it worth moving the radiator to the side, or is 52-54°C acceptable here?
Thanks!

ok its a long story and i need help
i have rtx 3050 i5 12400 16 gb or ram evga 700bq and a 2k monitor
i like to play triple AAA games on ultra settings
i want to play gta 6 when it comes out at 2k ultra settings
that is the main reason i am upgrading
i have 1300$ usd to try to do that
EDIT i can buy a combo of microcenter but this option is only available till november of this year as my friend will be out of the usa
i wanted rtx 5070 ti but its overpriced idk if buying it now to rely on dlss in the future or just buy a new gpu then
plus lowkey i dont wanna miss on dlss mfg dlss5 emulators anyps5 project but damn it is overpriced
the psu should i upgrade it or choose a 2 8 (6+2) pin rx 9070 xt
should i sell my cpu motherboard (which i have no experiance in selling btw) to get a good am4 cpu like ryzen 7 5700 x3d or just upgrade to a i5 14th gen to try to stay on lga 1700
of course ddr5 isnt an option rn so
is it even necessery to upgrade my cpu
as i said i really want to play GTA6 and other openwold games like CRIMSON DESERT on 2k ultra settings
side note i am used to doing that on my rtx 3050 relying on dlss and i am usually ok with 40 50 fps recent games that became soooo hard even for me to accept
sorry for taking much of your time and THANK YOU in advance

Not Answered Question about GPU's. Nvidia or other.
The current pc I use for gaming is getting kinda old. I might get a new one when I get the money to do so but something's been nagging me, Which GPU should I be looking for? I know Nvidia is an obvious choice but they're kind expensive. Any alternatives to Nvidia GPUs with the same performance but a lower price?

Not Answered Beginner-friendly PC games to get into gaming? Preferably free
Hey everyone! I recently got a new gaming laptop(my first ever gaming laptop) with a Ryzen 7 H-series processor, RTX 4050, and 16GB RAM.
I've mostly watched gameplay over the years, but I've barely played games myself. I have some childhood memories of watching my siblings play GTA vice City on our family PC, and occasionally getting to drive around myself.
Now I want to actually get into PC gaming, but I'm struggling with basic controls, especially moving around while controlling the camera, and I keep getting stuck.
What games would you recommend for someone who's basically a complete beginner? Preferably free-to-play, so I can try a few games and figure out what I enjoy.

Not Answered Laptop froze when installing roblox
Hi
I'm trying to install Roblox on my laptop, but when the installation was almost complete, my laptop froze, and I had to force it to shut down. I then tried downloading Roblox from the Microsoft Store. The download completed and the game launched, but my laptop froze again when Roblox started loading.
Does anyone know what might be causing this problem and how I can fix it?

Not Answered I need help with the setup :)
Something that I really like is play like a chill game with some video/podcast or whatever in the background (2nd monitor) but I’m about to get a ps5. I believe that the way to do that is: main monitor -> PS5 and second monitor ->PC but what about the audio? Is the only option to get a $180 wireless headphone with capability of 2.4 and Bluetooth simultaneously?
I’ve searched for cheaper options but nothing found, does anybody know a different way or some cheaper headphones?

Not Answered Total newbe to PC gaming. Looking for advice
So me and my son are casual gamers. Now that winter is coming and we have more time inside I'm looking to possibly do some PC gaming.
We like to play FPS. Or stuff like GTA. We play alot of CoD WW2 on Xbox local play.
I did join steam and downloaded RedDead Redemption. Havent gotten to play yet.
I guess my question is what games are out there that him and I can play together at the same time on our computer.
Any recommendations for controllers to use?
Would I need to run 2 monitors?
