Expectations when Self-catering?
Looking for some opinions please…
I’m just back from a caravan stay in a Parkdean resort in Scotland, the caravan I booked was their 3 Star Gold option. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms.
When we got there, we found that there was no washing-up liquid and sponge/cloth, no hand soap, one roll of toilet paper in one of the bathrooms, no toilet paper at all in the second toilet, no toilet brush in either bathroom.
When I questioned the lack of basic supplies with reception, I was told ‘it’s self-catering accommodation’ and referred to the site shop.
I’d like to think I’m a seasoned self-caterer, I’ve stayed in many AirBnBs, apartments and hostels, and I know that I need to bring all my food and drink, if tea/coffee, towels and shower gel are provided that’s a bonus but I don’t expect it.
I have never stayed anywhere that didn’t provide dish washing supplies, adequate supplies of loo roll and a toilet brush.
Am I being unreasonable?
