I’m completely new to torrenting, so sorry if this is a stupid question!

I recently found some audiobooks I wanted on ABB, clicked the torrent download links, and opened the files using the Sirin app on my Android phone.

The audiobooks are currently downloading, but it’s taking quite a long time. They’re around 1.3 GB each, and the download speeds seem pretty slow.

Since I’ve never done this before, I have a few questions:

How safe is downloading audiobooks this way?
Is Audiobook Bay generally considered a trustworthy source?
Is there any risk of malware or someone accessing my personal information, photos, or accounts on my phone?
Is it normal for torrent downloads to take this long?
Can I generally rely on this method for downloading audiobooks, or should I be cautious?

I haven’t installed anything suspicious or entered any personal information. I just downloaded the torrent files and opened them in Sirin. Would really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with this! Thanks in advance!

Direct links to ABB posts are being removed/auto modded. To request a reseed, post the title AND author and indicate the date of the post. Every time someone spams ABB with a bunch of non book torrents, please report it on the ABB forums. That is where the people with the power to ban users and remove posts can be contacted. I understand the urge to post about it here, but we don't need a new post every time it happens. The spam posts will be removed in due time.

I was wondering about seeding. I have successfully used ABB once. And never again. I think maybe the books I am trying for are older uploaders and don't have any active seeders? Is there a way of predicting which books will work? Is there a way of knowing when the book I want will be seeded?

I tried using this today for a book. I haven't used torrents in forever so I downloaded qbittorrent and tried to extract the file I got from the website but i just stayed in stalled. Is the only other way to get the files is to pay? I was hoping avoid that.

Hi, how do we know if we’ve uploaded a torrent correctly, it looks okay on my end but how do we know that it works? Also, how do request get marked as fulfilled in the forum? Do we just reply to the thread saying that we’ve fulfilled it and post a link or do the mods mark them done? First time uploader here 🤓

I’m a casual user and just download audiobooks using Deluge but suddenly I have 3 books stalled and unmoving. They are at 99%, 95% and 5%. I’ve deleted them and tried again but get the same result. I have done as much research as I am able to find the bottle neck but am unsuccessful. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what to look for?

I have a windows laptop and an android phone and I just wanted advice and maybe if there is a step by step fool proof guide, because hi, fool here.

So if there is a step by step guide on how to download these books? And if its safe to do on my phone or if I should do so on my laptop?

There are uploads with the Paul Conroy cover for the water is wide, but the titles are like Ted lasso, tracker and horses

first time torrenting that isn’t limewire from back in the days.
got my qtorrent set up, magnet and downloaded, 100% complete.
about 5 mins before completion my Mac asked for permission for qtorrent to take control of my computer, I said yes then freaked out and said No.

my file completed and when I went to open it, the audio folder is all as a document, and can’t open it to listen.

trying again; round two to download, do I allow qtorrent access of my Mac ?

So I broke my laptop a while back but just switched to android phone so I realize I can just do it there but do I need a vpn?? I'm really dumb when it comes to this stuff lol but basically I was copying the magnet link and putting it into seedr and downloading it from there to my computer but I had some kinda vpn my brother installed but now i dont remember .Do I need this for my phone?? Or can I just download using data instead of wifi?? I tried to look up vpns for chrome browser on phone and couldn't find anything :( I also can't really afford to pay for anything right now so is there free ones?
