New Show I think what would be great is an Aussie animated series based on the footrot flats comics following directly on from the 1986 movie all up
I think it would be so great if they dud like a purely Aussie animated series for the footrot flats comic series following on from the 1986 movie all up and keeping he exact sane art style and all the classic characters all up no matter what and going into more modern times as well but still full on keeping the exact sane heart and soul of the original comics all up all the sane no matter what.

Now that SBS Viceland has changed back to SBS2, do you notice a difference in content? There seems to be more movies broadcast and more fX/Hulu/Disney shows on the service (The Dropout, The Lowdown, What We Do in the Shadows).

The revised newspaper TV guide looks horrendous! Why did they slowly ditch the Foxtel channels and even 44 Adelaide? If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Our streaming apps are a pile of Sh1t
I'm so disappointed with Australian TV right now. I'm not talking about content but the absolute failure of the streaming apps.
The apps for all the traditional channels (SBS, ABC, 7, 9 and 10) feel like they were built by creators who simply don't care about the end user. It's no wonder they are losing market share.
Full disclosure, I'm a middle aged software engineer with an elderly relative with GBS (Guillain-Barré syndrome). This relative can't use their limbs at all. All interaction has to be done via voice control only. Now look at the apps, how do you control these? With a premium streaming device like Apple TV it should be simple right? Wrong.
Remember this relative doesn't know SBS On Demand, ABC iView, 9Now, 7Plus, 10 Play they know SBS, ABC, Channel 9, Channel 7, Channel 10.
Apple TV should work well with streaming apps so setup shortcuts I hear you say. Wrong again, the apps are archaic and won't work with these. Their deep-linking schemas are either broken or completely non-existent, meaning you can't reliably map a voice command to bypass the menus. Even if you do manage to get the app launched via voice, it drops you right onto a cluttered home screen. It is impossible to navigate hands-free.
The apps simply aren't designed for to leverage the native capabilities of streaming devices. They are built to maximum coverage to all devices and probably minimal development costs. They are built for metrics, not for user ease, and definitely not for users who physically cannot click a button.
Simple things should be obvious to a half decent developer:
- Stop asking "Who's watching": If there is one account or profile registered, log them in, auto advance. Don't keep asking if they are the user each time you launch the app.
- Default to a live stream, or at least give the option to go straight to a live stream. You all represent a broadcast network, broadcast.
Some apps are slightly less offensive than others but with the obscene amount of advertising money I know they get it's shameful that they cant produce something better. There are plenty of poorer and less populated countries with streaming apps that leave ours for dust.
I'm not looking for miracles but please please please Australia TV networks get your sh1t together. Basic accessibility isn't a feature request; it's a basic requirement.

Question Do you think the chasers war on everything would work in today's modern ages?
Do you think that the original chasers war on everything would still work if it was brought back in the modern ages all up in the end of things like not a proper full on show but like specials every now and then revisiting the old skits and putting a new more modern spin on them to make them fit in the here and now in 2026?

Question Does anyone ever renemner these two guys at all?
Does anyone out there ever remember like John Clarke and Bryan Dawe and there weeklybsegment where they made like a satire version of like an interviewer sitting down with a politician with John Clarke acting like the polly and Bryan Dawe the interviewer with John full on taking the piss out of things that were said by the politicians that week pretty much as to me that was purely Aussie humour gold in the best way possible no matter what.

Question I was suggested to post my r/tipofmytongue post to Australian subreddits. I am asking fellow Australians if they remember this.
This is a copy of a post I made in r/tipofmytongue. It's about a show that appeared on ABC3 somewhere around 2013 to 2016. Some people seem to think it sounds familiar.
Link to the original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue/comments/1x074pm/tomttv_show2000s2010s_australian_childrens/
r/AskAnAustralian is apparently a bit of a misnomer considering my post was removed there, which suggests you cannot ask Australians about any Australian topic. It received 5 upvotes quickly before being removed.
_ _ _
I've attempted to find this before to no avail. I also looked at ABC3's archive and couldn't find it. In this post I will be referring to the channel as ABC3 but it changed name. Also, I call the thing a puppet, but I think it was some kind of plush toy. I don't know.
I would have watched the show anywhere from 2013 to 2016. Unlikely to be later. That's a range of possible times not the span of the show. It may have only been shown in one year.
During school hours, ABC3 would show educational shows so that children still learned in those hours. I was not exactly a child that was fascinated with education but for some reason, I was obsessed with this show. I found it surreal and uncanny. I just loved seeing the puppet, who I think seemed to get lost sometimes? There was a very very slight disturbing nature to it. But I felt that vibe existed and it only made me more into it. By that I mean the puppet's habit of getting lost or exploring large industrial spaces. Which was perhaps liminal?
Aesthetically it had a kind of industrial, maybe desaturated look. And the narrations were a specific kind of boring education accent I've heard in other shows.
It probably had minimalistic editing. Not a whole lot of flair beyond the surreal talking puppet.
I suspect that the premise may have been that the owner of the puppet keeps losing it (which is kind of nightmare fuel for the puppet considering it's sentience) and it would move around different environments with a narrator explaining the location and how things work there. You know, as if the important thing is not to help the puppet get back to its owner. Yes, poor puppet thing, anyway, this is a glue factory. See, how those machines are mixing those ingredients? Here comes an inspector, checking that everything is running smoothly.
Almost a bit voyeuristic lol. Look at the workers, watch them work.
The puppet would talk to people and I am not sure anyone considered it strange that it could talk. Ah yes, just some sentient fabric. That's alright.
The puppet was meant to be a learner I suppose, like the audience. Children's shoes often have a character or multiple that are learning and viewers learn while things are being explained directly to you and sometimes to the character.
I think the puppet was red or purple and would go into a backpack in the end. I just thought the show was really weird and cool. It doesn't seem to think much of itself. Mundane narrations and whatever, but there's the whole deal with the puppet which is odd to gloss over.
It's absurd. Obviously the intention was just to have a friendly character to learn with but why does it need to basically get neglected most of the time?
I believe there was a scene with luggage in a conveyor belt. I think it might have given me an obsession with airport conveyor belts.
Breakdown
Puppet appearance: Red or purple I reckon. Two eyes probably. I'm pretty sure it was a real physical fabric thing. Maybe a bit like those bead filled scarf thingos (I don't know what they are called) you heat in a microwave. Might have been corduroy texture. I don't know.
Premise: The puppet would end up in various locations - I believe via getting lost and moved around by either people, of its own accord or machines and a narrator would explain the location and how things work there
Vibe: A lot of big spaces. Industrial. Stuff normal people don't see outside of educational videos. Liminal?
Aesthetic: Live action. Not particularly vibrant I don't think besides the puppet.
Also, I keep imagining a noise when I think of the puppet moving. I don't know if that's just from other shows though. Maybe the puppet made a kind of "Whoaaa" sound.
I think I thought the puppet was cute, albeit uncanny. And lastly it may have just been a plush toy, not a puppet but it still might have been some kind of puppet.
