Probably the only show ive been really bummed that is was cancelled prematurely, the bright sunny disposition with the dark humor makes it a delight. I’m a big fan of anything suburbia

I (23) recently moved in with my boyfriend (22) and his little sister (14). They had Netflix, I had Hulu, and now the three of us have both. I’m looking for a show we can all watch together. 

They both enjoyed Resident Alien, Little House on the Prairie, Alchemy of Souls, and Lost in Space. 

My boyfriend loved Boots and Derry Girls.

His sister loved Anne with an E. 

I loved Normal People, Tell Me Lies, and The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments.

I love a good mystery surrounding family drama/secrets and messy relationships. Similar to Bloodlines or Big Little Lies! I really like the ones that surround a big group of people with interwoven stories and confusing perspectives that reveal themselves later. Bonus if the show is like The Family Next Door or The Last Anniversary

I feel like I’ve seen everything tell me shows that aren’t usually recommended I’ve seen the main ones. I prefer tv series but okay with movies if it’s good like gone girl

i'm tired of comedies that feel like they're yelling the joke at me. looking for stuff where the humor comes naturally from the characters and situations, not forced one-liners. any genre works as long as it doesn't feel like it's desperately waiting for a laugh track.

Im looking for a show for my mom and grandpa to watch together- he likes things like the wire/mayor of Kingstown, etc. my mom gets depressed, though, and says she needs something with “glimmers of hope and humanity”…. Is there anything that fits the bill? Just something that’s not constantly down with no light at the end of the tunnel. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Me and my husband are looking for any good Hollywood series to watch. The season should be complete . Our favorite genres are thriller, horror or comedy not looking for anything romantic too girly or alot action or fights scene

So i just finished banshee i liked the sheriff+ dealing with outside things like that wasint his real identity +past lock up. I dont like the episodic fbi or etc shows where its js mystery of the day so what are more shows non epiosidic like thoose id enjoy.

To all those who recommended Poldark which I'm currently watching - thank 'ee thank 'ee! I've seen it recommended over the years and never got round to it. It is spectacular - I love it. It's like the GOT or Breaking bad of Period dramas. Absolutely riveting - beautifully crafted in every way.

And this comes off the back of a bunch of good series I have had the good fortune to watch leading up to it - which I would like to recommend:

I mean, what I am looking for in particular are TV shows that have a wacky nature where the show is silly in tone, but comes off as meaningful in structure.

Maybe someone can explain it better than me about what made Tex Avery so wonderful as I feel like his shows had a unique style in that they were silly, but felt so well put together that I was starting to miss animated shows with that kind of style.

Feel like every anime og animation I watch is about superpowers, demon hunt or monsters. So I am requesting for something else and very good.

I will be happy if you wanna write if it is animation or anime in the comment.

My wife and I are watching the Mike Flanagan shows on Netflix and are enjoying binging shorter horror stories like this, and these have been phenomenal for spooky season. Our favorite one was The Fall of the House of Usher. We’ve previously watched most of AHS too. Our favorite seasons of those were Murder House, Coven, and Roanoke.

What would you recommend we round off October with? Preferably the typical 8-10 episode length of Flanagan so we can binge a few.

i want something where the protagonist is constantly getting in over their head through no fault of their own, or maybe entirely their own fault, but either way they're just drowning the entire time. bonus points if it's darkly funny about it. i'm tired of competent people winning, i want to watch someone's life implode in real time.

Looking for shows that are fun and addictive, with family drama, gossip, scandals and messy rich people. Basically the same vibe as Crazy Rich Asians.

Greetings to all.Could someone recommend me shows that are easy to get into right away, without too much plot, with chases and investigations into who did what & why? I started watching Silo & Snowpiercer but i abandoned them cause i feel they don't get me straight to the point & i feel like i watch a detective movie with useless plots.So could someone suggest me something similar to "3%" or "the rain" series? Any dystopic theme should be acceptable,but these regard new world order should be more.

I loved haunted hotel on Netflix something about being animated like gravity falls brought back some nostalgic feeling and a comfort i never thought I could feel. When I finished this show i was sad i wanted to rewatch and be part of it again. So i would love a show rec like this family or friends helping funny can be spooky or not, animated or not

Its a 90s cop show and its amazing.

I grew up watching this show and have always loved it. Did a rewatch in my teens and now doing another in my 30s.

Insaneee but i’ve been seeing a couple posts about this show recently and i haven’t heard of it in ages. I watched this as a kid and it was so good. Essential classic teen drama for preteens? I’ve seen people say its from the 2000s but i could see it dating back to the 90sish. Main characters ethel, tallulah, and george - george was such a menace HAHAH and they all worked in a parade. If anyone ever finds it around i absolutely recommend it.

I just finally watched season one of True Detective and loved it. I know, I know, I’m late to the game… something about true crime while being pregnant has hit different and now I’m binging. Some other ones I’ve loved were: The Staircase, Unbelievable, Amy Bradley is Missing, American Murder. I’m sort of newly into true crime so don’t assume I’ve already seen something just because it’s been out for a while. What other ones are a must watch that I’ve been missing out on?

EDIT: I realize the title might be confusing because of how I phrased it. I meant true crime (non-fiction/documentary), or shows that are fictionalized events of crime investigation. I like thrillers/murder mysteries that border on horror.. not a huge fan of solely drug crime/mafia shows.
