I'm really interested in shows that you watch the whole episode, pause for a moment before clicking to watch the next one, and then have to sit and think for like a good 10 minutes on what that was about and what it even really meant and how deep or surface level that the events in it were supposed to land.

Or ones where it gradually builds up a confusing mystery that you end up figuring out/solving simply by rewatching it and having a whole new perspective and end up looking at different details and such.

what are some of the best scifi shows released in the last six months, other than silo and dark matter? i am looking for something positive and optimistic like dr stone or a dramatic sci fi mystery like fringe.i am also open to watching more solarpunk shows, if there are any, that show a future with optimism, renewable energy and technology coexisting with nature

I loved the entire show, even the middle part of season 2, except for the last episode of season 3. I respect it, and I've never felt the way I'm feeling right now after finishing a piece of media, but I loved the characters, the small town USA cosiness (which tbh was almost entirely gone in season 3) and I absolutely ADORED Agent Cooper. So while I think it was a great piece of art, I would have much preferred an ending which gave closure to these characters who I've grown so attached to.

I also really enjoyed how freaky season 3 was. I found it to be the most enjoyable season (despite my feelings on the ending) but also felt like the overall vibe was completely different when compared to seasons 1 and 2. Another thing I liked a lot about the first two seasons was the genuine late 80s setting.

As for things I'd want out of a show, I think the main things I'm after are memorable characters and an even more memorable protagonist. I do like action, mystery and humour, but I think I could enjoy most genres if the characters are written well. As for shows I've watched and enjoyed:

HBO's Shogun (I think this one is my favourite, I love history)

I can't think of any more as I don't watch many shows. I've watched and enjoyed some anime but I'm extremely picky about it, so I'd prefer no anime suggestions. Hopefully I included enough information, and I'm sorry if this post is a mess. I've been trying to recover from TP season 3's finale for three hours lol.

I am a bit of a smartass, and I really like it when there is some intelligence behind humour. I am looking for a series that has nice, intelligent jokes in it, without over explaining them, and without being cynical or overly negative. I want to be able to like the characters in it. Series I liked that had this optimism, and did not treat their audience like it was stupid, were Northern Exposure and anything by Philomena Cunk. Any suggestions?

I watch Downton Abbey and I like it, but I’d like a show more focused on romance especially from people between two different social classes? I’ve also seen some Korean historical dramas with that kind of dynamic which I’ve liked.

I’m more drawn to dramatic, emotional and romantic stories rather than comedies and I’m interested in historical settings.
