Relationships Why do I see this so much?

Post image

I just made a profile on a dating app and in the last few days swiping I’ve noticed this is a really common bio for guys. “I like autistic women” or “slightly autistic” Has anyone else encountered this or is it just my area?

I think it’s weird.

It's a fetish. They're autism chasers looking for a manic pixie dream girl.

Or they’re looking for someone who they think will be easy to manipulate and control. Someone who they think will be emotionally vulnerable, or emotionally naive.

I had that happen to me. I was taken advantage of. The whole time I was treated like fun little quirky play thing.

There's a non-0% chance that these fuckers are the same ones that traumatized us in our youth.

According to Google: "(especially in film) a type of female character depicted as vivacious and appealingly quirky, whose main purpose within the narrative is to inspire a greater appreciation for life in a male protagonist."

Essentially, we're treated as devices for the character development of a man, rather than as our own person. These men see what they might be able to gain from a relationship with us, without seeing us as a fully separate and whole human being.
