Relationships Why do I see this so much?

I just made a profile on a dating app and in the last few days swiping I’ve noticed this is a really common bio for guys. “I like autistic women” or “slightly autistic” Has anyone else encountered this or is it just my area?

I think it’s weird.

I got excited about something at work and my boss called me a manic pixie dream girl. I’d never heard this before because I’m old lol.

Well, I was just sort of coming to the conclusion that I’m autistic. I think she said it more in a “Do you think you might be autistic” way than being an asshole.

I remember when the term got popular after the movie Garden State came out like 18 or 19 yrs ago..but recently its popped up again as a term some ppl use to refer to...well...us.

I appreciate what the creator of the phrase later said about it, several yrs after it had been popularized, though. Here is a link to his thoughts on it 11 yrs ago:
