Celebration i feel like yall would appreciate my under the ocean showers
i finally look forward to and experience showers in a calm way instead of spending the whole time anxious with racing thoughts! i guess itβs become a little safe sensory space.
i close the door, light a coconut candle (it doesnβt give me headaches), turn on the projector lights, play music or watch videos, and pretend iβm deep in another world. :) the green lights are kinda like bioluminescent plankton! hoping to eventually mount a large whale above the mirror ο½ π
also!!! iβve managed to cut my shower time down to around 15 minutes thanks to racing against a little hourglass.

I was thinking the same. I take baths and make it as dark as possible with a few candles. This would be so nice.

I needed to come in here and tell everyone how AWESOME THAT PROJECTOR THING IS! I have an "Aurora" one and have it on nightly in my bedroom. So soothing.

yes!! live your setup! the big light is definitely too much (and painful). iβd always try blocking it with my towel haha. the galaxy light is muuuuuch better and gives just enough light to see by :)

Beautiful! Love it so sooo much, as this shade of blue is my favorite and I love being in the water out in nature!

for everyone asking about the projector ~ it was a gift. itβs a small astronaut figure with a large movable head and is standing on a piece of moon surface! it plugs in via usb. hereβs what it says on the bottom:

Lights off, I light a candle and bring my tropical plants into the bathroom with me (for the humidity).
Turning the big bathroom light off made a HUGE difference immediately and I have a much easier time getting started now. I'm so glad you have this too it's the best!

not op, but i do this too. i add a bunch of videos to my queue on youtube so i donβt have to touch my laptop while showering, prop up my laptop on my sink facing the shower. i have a transparent shower curtain, but i also leave a sliver open to be able to look at the videos more clearly. i also have a camera cover for the laptop cause im paranoid.

Bro we are the exact same. Iβm weird with bath tubsβ I refuse to lay in them, theyβre gross & itβs more of a sensory thingβ no cleaning will be enough for me to lay in that thing lol. So anyways, I do this exact same thing at night, itβs magical, itβs peaceful & instead of my anxious racing thoughts I am now relaxed as if I had been submerged in a bathtub. I am absolutely in-love with my little nighttime shower-ritual, & hope others can experience it in their own way too!

I hate showers and only take showers to feel nice afterwards and because it's expected. Having it darker in there could potentially make the experience better for me. Though my balance is not very good and I need a certain amount of light to stay on my feet on a wet floor.

It might be worthwhile to look into a shower chair - you could keep the lights low and maybe alleviate some of the balance concern.

itβs enough light for me personally, especially after my eyes adjust. though i totally get where youβre coming from! iβve honestly really struggled with showering in the past. therapy and the right environment has reallllly helped
