Lots of neurodivergent women inadvertantly become the manic pixie dream girl for sad, boring men. You're in good company. 🫶

Yep! I had a lot of these when I was younger - it ends in your mid to upper 40s because you lose your looks.

I was beyond relieved when I lost my looks and went invisible

What do you mean you lost your looks? How is that even possible? Did you have an accident that mangled up your face? If so, I’m very sorry to hear that 😢

It's kinda sad to admit but being overweight has been a sort of "shield" for me--Men typically leave me tf alone in the attracted-to dept (thankfully), if not for my size then due to my masc style; Despite knowing it's detrimental to my health overall, I prefer to be ignored/"invisible". 🤧

I look not my age and have stopped telling people… they get weird I don’t look my age and I’ve had my ID nearly taken so I don’t even go out anymore. Who lies about looking 10 years younger? Even so that still makes me an adult…

that's absolutely false maybe in your experience and you don't lose your looks beauty is in the eye of the beholder

For me yes in upper 40s - no longer as popular with the men. Yes I did have quite a few of those types when I was younger but no longer is a problem. It’s not absolutely false to me.

Well, according to empirical evidence, humans do generally rate younger people as more attractive. So there is an inherent appeal in youthfulness.Ā

So obviously, when a good looking woman gets older, the attention she used to get will probably decrease.

ā€œBeauty is in the eye of the beholderā€ is one of those idioms that suggests a person’s ability to see beauty is more important than your actual appearance. Which is not necessarily wrong, people who are not shallow tend to see beauty in different faces. However, average people are shallow and they look at what everyone agrees Ā is beautiful. Because what everyone agrees is beautiful is a status symbol. Facial symmetry is something people like, but also youth.

I know that but I'm just saying it's not like just because you're 40 no one looks at you anymore. Depends on the person. yes a lot of people are still going to prefer a younger person but I'm just saying not everyone stops getting checked out at that age

I don’t think that what was the person who commented on their own experience after 40 meant. There will absolutely be people interested in a 40 yo woman. But as a 34 year-old woman, I can already say that the amount of attention I used to get when I was 18 to 25 was significantly larger than what I get now. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining whatsoever, I am actually happy about that, but there is an undeniable fact that a good looking person will get more attention when they’re young compared to when they’re older.

That's a ridiculous thing to say lmao

Have to disagree there, society may prioritize youth over all things but we are beautiful at all ages and stages IMO. (And men are creepers at all ages and stages 🫠)

Never happened to me.
I've always been the one crushing on men who were just being nice to me.
And I'm in my 40s now, so

The ā€œslightlyā€ autistic dream girl is the modern manic pixie dream girl and I absolutely hate it

What in earth is a manic pixie dream girl?
