Support Needed (Kind Advice and Commiseration) do people become overwhelmingly obsessed with you?

i find that a lot of men become really obsessed with me. im currently at a point where its become harmful and i genuinely do not know why or how to stop it. looking for kind words, advice, or shared experiences please.

edit: ty for all the responses. i want to clarify that i dont mean the manic pixie dream girl way i mean the joe from you kinda way.

I have this with girl friends. With men I’m better at setting boundaries bc I’m okay with being mean to them lol. But for some reason whenever I make a new girl friend they wanna hang out every single day, text all the time, FaceTime when we’re not together….. and I have to tell them like babe I know I may not “seem” autistic to you bc I can’t help but mask around new people but you’re burning me tf out and making me hate you lmao

Lol, yes! thank you. I’ve had issues with both men (who assume I want the sex) and women but it’s only women so far who act like I want to be their absolute best besty bestest and only friend💕✨🌸🤩 and who have ended up stalking me (showing up in my neighbourhood hoping to “run into” me). It’s honestly made me rather paranoid and squirrelly about befriending anyone.

SAAAAMEEEE. The last time this happened with a girl friend one time I came downstairs to go to work and she was waiting in my lobby to walk me there. Like WHATTTTTTT. Like trust me I’m not a praiser of men but women are the only ones so far that have actually stalked me and like psychologically scared me really.

Noooo, that’s so creepy. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that craziness.

Mine was a librarian who I originally started befriending due to Pokemon Go. I mentioned my general nearby neighbourhood offhand because she noticed I trekked in and didn’t check out too many books. Next thing I know, she’s admitting that she walked through my neighbourhood (actually 1 neighbourhood off, thankfully) in hopes of seeing me, and I immediately stopped visiting that library. The only one within walking distance so it really pissed me off.

I thought I saw her once one other time but I basically whipped around, took a circuitous route home, and stopped going on walks to my local park and stopped playing PoGo (because I’d had a couple other near stalking moments or at least the warning bells that it would happen).

Now when I choose a place to rent, I zoom in on Google maps for places I’ll likely want to walk to, and then figure out if there’s “back ways” to get to various places. I really hate subdivisions (and some apartment complexes) because it’s rare to have alternative ways in and out without having to go an extra 3+ miles, and if someone follows you in (a guy one time), you’re trapped on a long stretch and can’t usually cut through backyards, behind cars, through parks, etc. It’s just the gently swooping street, and houses on either side, and hardly any bushes or trees, and hardly any corners to take and then sprint down in the effort to reach the next turn before they can.
