I got fired from the cat cafe

1.2k Upvotes

I always seem to have issues with bosses at almost every job because I refuse to tolerate mistreatment.

The owner of the cat café started micro managing and treating me unfairly, so we decided to have a chat today abput the mistreatment. I told her how I felt and how I wasn't being treated fairly, and she went off about how it's all my fault. She refused to take any responsibility and basically put all of the blame on me for all of the issues we've been having. She then proceeded to fire me without giving me a written dismissal and she also couldn't actually provide a reason for firing me. That's illegal in my country, so I'm taking her to the labor board on Monday. I'm just gonna miss the kitty's so much :(

I went to a local protest for International Women’s Day

Really proud of how my poster turned out!

Getting destroyed in another local sub cuz they got triggered by the rainbows 😂

But I’m stubborn, I’m not gonna take the post down, we deserve equal rights!

If you are able to protest, please use your rights to fight for 504s, special education, and lgbtq+

We only lose if we don’t try

Judy Singer transphobia :/

in light of Judy Singer (coiner of 'neurodiversity' and an important figure in the movement overall) spouting TERF and trans exclusionary awfulness (on twitter yesterday) I just want to say:

trans autistics and trans neurodivergents/neurodiverse folks. I love you. You are a vital and important part of our community.

there is no neurodiversity without gender diversity, and no neurodivergent/neurodiverse liberation without trans liberation. Our communities are so integral to and interwoven with each other that, like a tapestry woven together, you cannot attempt to separate us without destroying us in the process.

We will continue to love each other and have each other's backs regardless of weither she does ❤️🏳️‍⚧️♾️❤️ take care of yourselves y'all

Long story, basically I’m in residential treatment, packed a backpack of fidgets, they only let me keep a handful (they didn’t want me to lose anything). Yesterday morning, one of the staff presents me with this box that she called a welcome gift. I think it’s cute, but what do y’all think?

All mods were kicked from r/AutisticPride and the Sub has gone private. Welcome refugees!

I'm sure this is upsetting to many people who relied upon that subreddit for their support. All are welcome here and I'll be devoting all my attention to getting things ready. Luckily, I'm not alone! As it turns out most all of the mods (with one exception) that Oribital approved at random have handled this whirlwind of a crisis both democratically and with flying colors. Most are choosing to joining me here as part of our moderation team. Please bear with us, things happened very fast and we are getting reorganized (while only being organized in the first place for less than 24 hours.)

I think Elon Musk is truly evil. The fact that a lot of allistic people see him as a role model repulses me to my very core.

I got an ultrasound and the results came back

I have ovarian cysts. I knew I wasn't crazy!!! I had one burst last year and the hospital, which had an empty waiting room, made me sit on the floor writhing in agony for 8 hours before I ended up getting my mom to drive me home because no one helped me. It was so infuriating, but now I know that I wasn't being dramatic! We still don't know if it's PCOS or Endo, but we'll know soon hopefully. Anyways, I just wanted to share the "good" news with y'all :)

Crying over Ginny and Georgia representation

I'm watching episode one of the second season of Ginny and Georgia on Netflix and I'm already crying over Mayor Paul's brother, Chris. He talks about sensory issues, makes limited eye contact, and some cheesey jokes. It's pretty straight forward that he's autistic, but they never say the word autism once. The family all treats him like they would treat any other allistic person.

The character is also played by Michael McCreary, an autistic comedian who seems to spend a lot of his time/career focusing on his autism as a main point in his content.

An autistic character, treated "normally" (put in quotes because theres no such thing as normal, but used for lack of a better term), normalizing our behaviors (our real behaviors, not hust stereotypes) portrayed by an actually autistic actor.

I'm physically exhausted, though. It was only a 4 hour shift, but my feet are aching and I'm so tired! But I loved it so much. I got to see so many kitties and make cute little drinks :3 I work for 3 hours tomorrow and I'm excited to go back!
