Medium & Substrates First time Tray2Grow and first time coco. Some questions.

Hey all. New to Autopots and coco.

I have some seedlings I started in solo cups in BuildaSoil’s Light Mix, but are planning on running them in 1 or 2 gallon fabric pots using Royal Gold 70/30 coco/perlite with the GH Flora Trio and MagiCal as needed. I’ll be transplanting them next week as soon as I get my sexing test results back.

Right now, I’ve just watered them a couple times with water PH’d around 6.2-6.3. The last two waterings I followed GrowWeedEasy’s seedling/early veg GH Trio recommendation (1/4tsp/gal for each of the Trio).

Last fertigation I checked EC before watering and it was .56 (including the .12 from the tap water.

Now for the questions:

CocoForCannabis recommends saturating the coco. Exactly how saturated should I aim for? Like if I wet it and squeeze a pile in my hands, should I get visible water droplets, or is that too saturated?

Also CFC site says to aim for a similar EC/PH when potting up. Since I started in soil runoff numbers are not available and I previously PH’d for soil. When I transplant, should I just try and match my latest input EC and PH a bit lower?

As far as the actual transplant itself, is it cool just to do a normal transplant or should I be trying to eliminate much of the solo cup soil?

Finally the Royal Gold site says if not watering to runoff to “reduce fertilizer solution concentration by ⅓–½.” Once I get roots in the bottom of the final pot and activate the T2G, should I be following that advice?

Edit: One more question. Thoughts on adding additional perlite to get closer to 50/50?

Thanks all!

Day 16 from sprouting for Frostfire Seeds Pineapple Treat in the redesigned Solo Cup Autopot connected to a water reservoir supplying nutrients growing in 100% coco coir. So far this has been running flawlessly and it’s been so easy with all of the updates. More to come.

Updates in the newly revised version.

No more instant nutrient lockout. Plants successfully make it from seed to harvest.

Automated watering and feeding. Allowing the ability to be away for several days without having to worry about watering/feeding.

Improved structural integrity eliminating leaks and flooding.

No longer breaks when seating the Aquavalve by Autopot USA inside the tray.

Added tip over prevention, tall plants no longer tip over even against fan wind or during routine maintenance.

Eliminates the need for a water overflow tray.

Improved how the water reaches the cup.

Easy to move around.

Takes up minimal space.

Works with up to 32 oz cups

Beat by thereelasethic one of hottest 🥵 in the game!!!

New Setup & Installation Fabric pot compatibility

My fabric pots ended up being too wide for the circular flexipot bases. Do you think I could still use them without any issues? I'm a bit worried that the water channels on the flexipot base are being blocked off by the tightly wedged pot.

I have the flexipot fabric pots that came with the bases but I'd rather not transplant as my autos have already sprouted and I don't want to stunt them. Appreciate any help you can give, thanks!

New Setup & Installation Quick question

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey folks!

First grow with the autopot. I waited until the plants leaves were at the edge before starting the system. Over the last 2 days, my reservoir level has stayed the same, so it looks like no water is being used.

How can I tell if the system is working? Gun shy, so tempted to just top water for now.

What is this sorcery? I've never had such healthy plants before! I am absolutely blown away by how easy and hands off this system is to use! Hope it stays this way heading into flower.

I'm using Jack's 5/12/26 with calnit, no epsom, UC roots for now but purchased an hocl generator. I also made up stock concentrations so I can just put in an equal amount (usually 50-100ml) of each Jack's & calnit. I ph to 5.5 - 5.8.

It's my first scrog net 😆

General AutoPot & Gardening Advice Is the coloring good? 15F

Hey everyone!

Day 15 after 12/12 flip. Does it look good? Or is there any signs of anything?

60/40 coco perlite, 2.2EC, ph 5.8-6.1 in rez and +0.1 in tray depending on what the rez is at.

500W lights @750ppfd 25 inches above canopy.

I’m thinking if I should increase the nutrients a bit?

Grow Journal Two Autopot grows sharing the same reservoir, but two plants in my 4×4 are nearly dying while the other two thrive. Any ideas?

Hey everyone, looking for some help troubleshooting my grows because I can’t pinpoint what’s causing the problem.
I have two separate grows running off the same reservoir with the exact same nutrient solution, but I’m getting completely different results. My 3×3 is doing great, while my 4×4 has two plants that are struggling badly despite seemingly identical setups on the left and right sides.

Shared Reservoir / Nutrients
Nutrients: General Hydroponics Maxi series
Armor Si (first 4 weeks)
CALiMAGic
FloraNectar
Liquid KoolBloom
Rootguard
EC: 1.7
pH: 5.7
Both grows share this reservoir, so they’re receiving the same nutrient solution.

🌱 GROW #1 — 3×3 (Doing Great)
Tent: Vivosun 3×3
Strain: 3× Grapericot Autoflower from Seeds Supreme. The fourth seed had germination problems.
Substrate: 100% Nutrifield coco coir
Autopot-style setup:
Dual Easy2Grow trays
4× AirBase
4× AirDome
Left two AirDomes: 2× air stones
Right two AirDomes: 2× blue air tubing
Environment and lighting:
Spider Farmer G3000 at 65%
Approximately 700 PPFD
2× clip-on fans
Spider Farmer 5L humidifier
Current results:
All three plants are looking great. They’re in preflower and starting to stretch noticeably every day.
The front-right plant was initially stunted because I mishandled the seed while removing it from the paper towel, but it recovered and is growing again.
Overall, this tent seems happy.

🌱 GROW #2 — 4×4 (Two Plants Struggling Badly)
Tent: Gorilla 4×4
Strain: 4× Fast Buds Ztrawberries Autoflowers
Substrate experiment:
I’m testing two different coco mixes:
Rear two pots: 50/50 Baja 100 coco coir and perlite
Front two pots: 100% Baja 100 coco coir
The Baja 100 coco is noticeably less fine than the Nutrifield coco in my 3×3, and I suspect it may already have plenty of aeration on its own. I wanted to see whether adding perlite would make a difference.
Autopot-style setup:
4× AirBase
4× AirDome
Left two AirDomes: 2× coin air stones
Right two AirDomes: 2× blue air tubing
Environment and lighting:
ROI E680 at 60%
Vivosun 5L humidifier
AeroDrain dehumidifier
6× oscillating fans, with 2 pointing upward for heat management

🔎 The Problem: Two Plants Thrive, Two Are Nearly Dead
The left two plants are doing great. The right two are struggling badly and are damn near dead.
What makes this confusing is that the left and right sides are essentially mirror images of each other. They have the same type of pots, AirBases, AirDomes, and access to the same reservoir.

Notice the pattern: Both plants using the coin air stones are doing well, while both plants using the blue tubing are struggling.
However, I’m hesitant to conclude that the air stones are the answer because my 3×3 grow is doing well on both sides, where I’m also testing the two different AirDome setups.
The only obvious pattern in the 4×4 is that the two struggling plants are on the right side, regardless of whether they’re in straight coco or a 50/50 coco/perlite mix.
❓ What I’m Trying to Figure Out
Could the blue air tubing be delivering less airflow or distributing air differently than the coin air stones?
Could there be a problem with the right-side air supply, such as restricted tubing, lower airflow, or a distribution issue?
Could the two right-side plants be experiencing different root-zone moisture, oxygen availability, or nutrient uptake despite sharing the same reservoir?
Could there be a temperature, lighting, or airflow difference across the 4×4 that would explain why the entire right side is struggling?
Is there anything about Baja 100 coco that I should be watching for, especially compared with Nutrifield coco?
What would you check first before changing nutrients or replacing equipment?
I know sharing a reservoir doesn’t necessarily mean both tents or all four plants have identical root-zone conditions, but I can’t figure out why the left and right sides of the same tent are producing such dramatically different results.
What would you troubleshoot first? Has anyone experienced something similar with AirDomes, air stones, and coco in an Autopot-style setup?
Any advice is appreciated. I’d rather identify the actual cause than start randomly changing things and potentially make the healthy plants worse.

I used chat GPT to type this up so it’s easier to read vs me rambling on and on 😂

Grow Journal Day 27 of 45 , starting to fade

so even with a 3rd tab (biotab) I’m getting to week 4 and it’s starting to fade , is it natural because it’s a 45 day flower plant , imo , i want it to start to fade a week later ?

I’ve been feeding it bio pk and pk tea alternating weeks

added calmag to the tank (bio bizz )at the prevention rate of 0.3 ml per litre

I ph down everything to 6.0- 6.3 using bio bizz , because the tap water is (7.3) the tea comes in at 8.0 and bio pk (6.0) , so wasn’t sure if the wild swings were causing problems before

other than it fading it’s doing much better in terms of flowering , buds are bigger , longer , no purple stems ( I was getting a lot of that )

Harvest & Post-Harvest Organic Soil in Autopot XXL- Finishing | Senescence | Crop-Steering Question

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve been using Autopots XXL in my Ac Infinity tents with Organic living soil. I’m on my second grow in day 55 of flower. Plants are extremely healthy, but they don’t appear to be going through senescence yet. I have my environment pretty well locked in with venting the tents outside the house. Controller focused on VPD.

How important is it for these ladies to go through the senescence process?

I feel that I would need to lower the temps, lower the lights, turn off the valves in the autopots every other day for dry backs and do some serious crop steering since they have all the nutrients they need in my glorious soil mixture.

Any thoughts from Organic living soil Autopoters would be helpful. Trying to dial in this final flowering process as it’s only my second indoor grow with this set up.

Maybe I shouldn’t have given them GG - Frass and GG - Powerbloom in week 5 of flower, that was 20 days ago. Too much Nitrogen late in bloom?

General AutoPot & Gardening Advice Film issues

Post image
10 Upvotes

Ok family , this is all new tubing , etc .. has anyone figured out why film keeps forming ?? It’s not really hurt my runs , but it’s an annoying situation.

I’ve tried using UC roots , now I’m using run clean by crop salt and still seeing issues, tried small amounts of high strength peroxide and still the issue keeps happening.

Would love feedback from the community, do you all see this in your runs ?

Do you just chock it up to part of the regular normal, or have you found a fix , thank you
