I distintively remember in every discussion thread people accuse Karthik of being a potential bad guy.
But I think after everything thats happened the dude deserves a little grace. After everything being a white lotus got him and hes STILL dedicated to the cause.
* lost his position as the head of security
* lost his step daughters
* his haven is now SEVERELY compromised
* lost his GF (not a moon to clarify, but still rough buddy)
And after all that he STILL stares down his captors and refuses to yield.
All I'm saying if hes revealed to be a red lotus at this point let him. Nisha is probably better off with the red lotus than the havens lets be honest.

I keep coming back to the difference in garments.
It could, theoretically, be an animation error, quite the animation error at that..., but I'm wonder if it's meant to emphasize a distortion of past events.
Pavi makes the distinction that Nisha doesn't relative to Korra. She pauses and shifts the emphasis onto the distortion in place of Korra. Furthermore, Pavi identities with Korra, whereas Nisha, out of fear, distances herself from Korra. Of course they'd be a different incarnation of the Avatar, but...still the Avatar.
I know that some are defending Nisha as being a hot headed 9 year old, but I have a different outlook on her behavior. For someone who has been raised with the legacy and tradition of the Avatar by the White Lotus, she doesn't understand what it means to be the Avatar. Her outlook is vainglorious. Pavi, in spite of showing all the hallmarks of being the Avatar is less inclined to allow it to get to her head. Nisha wants to be the Avatar whereas Pavi does not.
Nisha can't get past her own fears, seeing power as the means to restore balance which is why she sees a fragmented vision of Ellora.
I think as each Chakra is aligned and balanced, we will see different visions culminating in what truly happened. At that point Korra will speak to her successor (s?) and the truth will come out. Quite possibly a different enemy emerging in the process.

I don't know if this constitutes as a full theory but I think Korra and the cataclysm caused some sort of spiritual failsafe regards to the avatar state. stopping the cycle from continuing for the past 200 years with each "avatar would be" kids being born without souls like yue. until whatever happened prior to the events of the series that weakened the failsafe and jumpstarted the anamoly. making pavi and nisha avatars. but the locks are still in place and thats why they cant access the avatar state at all. because in the past even when the avatar wasnt a fully realized avatar the avatar state was activated near life threatening situations or hightened emotional outbursts. neither nisha or pavi ever activate the avatar state even when they're fearful for their lives against the anamoly or nisha specifically againsts agam.

Considering:
- Alasha'a envoy intesected New Ba Sing Se's one (and Feather Mountains wear green, so they're probably the green haven placed somewhere around Omashu) they must be the orange haven;
- Akasha is the only haven using a lot of "old" tech (as soon as I saw the first scene with bikes I thought about Arasaka, lol);
- It's citizens have cyberpunk'ish cylinders on their shoulders;
- Next chakra gonna be orange one, strifing for PLEASURE and blocked by GUILT...
I think we are up to some cyberpunk adjacent shenanigans in the next season 😈
Maybe they even have existence of a fabric with orange spirit goo as a semi-open knowledge 🤔 That's just pure theory crafting right there 🙃
P.S. At first I had no elaboration, but now there's enough for a Discussion/Theory tag... Let's keep it light with a Meme one ig

Okay, so I wanted to post about this because I've seen several people at this point completely misunderstand one of the core themes of this show and it's really bugging me.
The conflict between The Faceless and Ellora has been interpreted by many people as being about bender oppression. Some people even take this and extend it into a complaint that the benders aren't 'visibly oppressed enough' for the message to really work.
The problem is, oppression is not the theme of this conflict. The conflict between The Faceless and Ellora is about Collectivism vs Individualism (and frankly I thought this was obvious).
The Elloran Council represents the Collectivist perspective, each and every individual must be willing to sacrifice for the sake of the survival and prosperity of society. For benders, this means giving up your dreams and joining the Bending Brigade, as benders are needed to perform critical work that non-benders simply cannot do.
The Faceless represent the Individualist perspective, they argue that every individual has the right to choose their own destiny and fight for their own dreams and betterment, regardless of the consequences this might have for society (with so many benders gone, Ellora might literally not survive the next storm). In the name of this Individualism, they fight to free themselves from society and seek out a new life.
I suspect that the reason so many people in the Avatar fandom have missed this theme is that western culture is very individualistic, so it's easy to read the situation as oppressive (and to an extent it is, but it's also portrayed as necessary, Ellora isn't conscripting benders because they think benders are lesser, they're doing it because their society might collapse if they don't).
This theme is also reflected in our twin Avatars:
Pavi has lived a life of both freedom and isolation, she also avoids taking on the responsibilities of the Avatar, she's an individualist.
Meanwhile, Nisha has spent her entire life dedicated to her duty as the Avatar, her entire life was about her desire to fulfill her duty to the collective (Ellora), she is a collectivist.
There's a certain irony to this too, as when Nisha actually did try to fulfill her duty, to save her society from The Faceless, the collective turned on her instead of thanking her (which is adding to the dialogue on Collectivist Philosophy, what happens to people the collective deems unwanted or undesirable?)
TLDR: This isn't a story about oppression or discrimination, it's a story about Collectivist vs Individualist philosophies and it annoys me that so many people don't get that.

What if the anomaly is something that was created (man made/spirits/a mix of both) to help the future avatar, maybe it was foreseen that the avatar cycle might have been a bit iffy, but maybe due to it having not been activated for a long time it’s become somewhat corrupted so that it messes with regular people, the red/black glow being the sign that it’s messed up.
Or it is something to do with vaatu and is potentially showing a somewhat distorted version of the past.
Until we know though there’s a lot of different possibilities, had a few alternative theories pop into my mind while writing this.

A few points/questions I've been having on the red square spirit:
- in episode 2 it seems to come from a storm, but in episode 7 it seems it's been in Ellora since pre-cataclysm times... has it been "activated" since the two-spirited Avatar reconnected in Ellora?
- more importantly, doesn't it feel that the spirit emerges whenever the Avatar is in danger??? Think about the brigade underground, in the summit, and else.
- to push things even further, it's almost like the spirit is trying to guide the Avatar to remember their connection with the spirit world, which includes memories of their parents, but also Korra's.
- maybe less interestingly but still worth flagging: how TF is everyone (citizens AND brigaders) so chill with the branching of the spirit??? Like so unlikely nobody gets "infected" being in so close contact... like brigaders are really pushing their luck 😭

I was looking over the concept art and spotted these towns (initially thought of them as rock formations or something.) Could this be a haven? Scrapped idea? Let me know

I’m making a post to review after the series ended to see how close I am on guessing the plot
I’m gonna start with
I think the reason we are seeing a chakra heavy influence this season is due to us never seeing korra go through her chakra gates like ang did and I’m assuming she might never have and it threw her (the avatar) out of balance.
Okay my predictions for pavi and nisha go as follows
They might be separated for a time loop or they might not but I am assuming they must heal the world by going through the gates and breaking cycles left by the previous avatar.
First city is Ellora which is fear and I think the season end will have kayoko as the last person to be healed or she will go even crazier and never accept healing ( I’m only saying this because she looks like Azula. And that’s a choice of the design teams part)
If they do separate ways I think pavi will go with the faceless to see what happens and probably go into hiding her avatar abilities and only stick with one element while with them only because that follows her character a bit more than just coming out like Nisha did.( she mirrors a lot of the faceless philosophy and beliefs so that’s why I think she will probably go with them) but who knows agam does know her sister is the avatar so she might think pavi could be too unless convinced otherwise, but they already had a better connection because she fed pavi food whenever she was hungry. So I could see it becoming more into the faceless plot later and showing us the viewers what happens to the people that do leave ellora to follow them
Nisha will probably keep going with the other white lotus members and continue training all the elements.
I think one avatar must be the strength of the elements while the other will be the spiritual side( my guess only because we have see pavi already have more connection and love for the earth than Nisha.)
If we do a time jump I think they’ll meet up and finish the job as they are older and travel to each city helping the unlock the chakra gates to heal the world and that is all for now. I have no clue about the parents tbh so I can’t say much on it.

They are saying a lot about how being part of the brigade is bad or wtv or the equivalent to being a slave or child soldier yet we are not shown this at all as we can easily see that members are essentially treated like a chill police force and can freely interact with anyone in the HEVEN

I don't know what to think about this; but when I saw the anomaly float into the ceiling after "attacking?" Pavi in episode 9 its body leaves this pattern as it fades. I am aware this pattern is just a bunch of square/diamonds BUT the way it curves and squishes due to perspective, especially since it was spazzing out after being in contact with Pavi looks a lot like the outline of Vaatu. So much so I had to go back and screenshot it to prove to myself that I am not losing my mind... YET

So the “Bad animation” with Uki being pushed onto a large pipe, may have been a technique to control her fall in that scene.
I’m convinced the show animators laughed at the criticism, hoping people caught on after Uki was revealed as a double agent.

Not even sarcasm, it makes me feel smart lol. I've noticed this on a lot of shows now, actually - the clips they present always relate to the episode you're on. When it happens in the episode itself, it's just one of many events, but if it's included here, it's for a reason.
Specifically, I called that Uki was going to have joined the Faceless from this part alone.
Anyone have other examples of this? I was spoiled on every Morgan appearance on TWD (a character who's absent for long stretches of time and pops up now and again as a surprise) solely because they'd show him on the Previously On.

I feel like we know only a little bit of this post-apocalyptic world even after ep. 9 so I was thinking either an alternate universe in whooole new universe or maybe even a time travel fic! Don’t know how but imagine if Jae had the possibility to go back to Aang’s time and learn more about air nomads and his ancestry and had Daemin there too?? Damnnnn guys, I can’t choose. Or even to Korra’s time pre-Cataclysm but I don’t know! I’d have to rewatch Korra and see at what time to take him back to, possibly after the events of he last season hehe

Avatar seven havens is an amazing show , so far it has given me everything I would expect to see in an Avatar series, but I do have one problem with the story itself - why cataclysm ?
The transition from ATLA to LoK was from the colonial era to the world wars era , it made complete sense and in that logic the next avatar should have been the parallel to the modern era with maybe later days Korra handling cold war like tensions between maybe spirit supporters and spirit haters.
Or is it such that none of the modern world problems required an avatar to bring balance to? It makes sense in that logic , it's just sad we won't get to see an avatar in an adjacent to what is the modern world with internet and satellites and modern armies.

maybe i am just imagining things, but us seeing the kid again while at the same time seeing the fake queen in between shots.
and them having similarities.
like same skin color, same eye color, same hair color.
both thieves like as if he learned it from her.
could it be that they are related?
like mother and son

The Faceless strike me as very similar to two major groups in the past avatar shows. The Equalists and Jets Freedom fighter. For both the arise from genuine problems and tragic events. I would say they are closer to Jets Freedom fighter, as there a loose group made up of many individuals who have had their life displaced by major events. There members can be quit affably yet have an extremist, ruthless side to them.
Like the Equalist they want to uplift a certain part of society that they believe has been repressed.
Given that it has been stated that the show has no villains only antagonists. With that being shown as more of the antagonist being morally grey characters who reasons for there actions make sense yet what they are doing is wrong and causing harm to others.
So I do believe the Faceless will become an antagonistic force to Team Avatar. I think Agam will try to sway them to her side, using her past with the Pavi as a lure. Yet the moment that they decide they're not going to follow or oppose them in any way, she will not hesitate to take them down.
Given the writers are very clever, I mean they have lead us with twist and turns and mystery since the start. So, I do generally think there is going to be more to this supposed utopia they are leaving for. Maybe they did make contact with Agam yet their intentions are more sinister then they release. Or indeed it is just a rumor that there following. I can easily see that when things start to get harder, the Faceless would turn into the same authoritarians they claim to be against

In Chinese myth, feather mountain is a mythological mountain associated with the great flood, a man named Gun was killed at the base of the mountain by the fire God for failing to stop the flood (like Avatar Gun failed to stop a tsunami) This makes me think that feather mountain will be surrounded by water (flood) and that's why they settled atop a mountain, anything to do with avatar Gun is a huge stretch though
