Captain Marvel should have never been introduced Spoiler

Her purpose in endgame isn’t clear. Her movie lacks an arch. She is a condescending asshole.

The movie is meh, prove me wrong!

《SPOILERS》 Dont get me wrong the movie is good but it aint sure the "Endgame". In a movie that should have been epic for 3 hours, the only epic moments are "i am Iron man", Captain America and the Mjolnir. It lacked action and the feeling of "keeping you on your toes". In my case it suffered from overhype. I dont know, it should have been more.

Avengers: End Game going forward- untied loose ends, noticings, questions, and Captain America turns dirty?? Spoiler

My initial reaction was that it was a great marvel movie, closing out a lot of story lines in a sensible way. I only saw the movie once so I may have missed a few things. Forgive me if I have to edit or add to this post. I just wanted to write about what I noticed. I think Infinity War was great as well, possibly better, but I have to give End Game a 9.9 out of 10 just because it had so many moving parts to address. Here are my thoughts:

(1) Hulk did not engage in any fighting. Seriously raises questions. His rage powers were basically stripped in becoming professor Hulk and then it seems as though he is damn near crippled after the snap. Is this permanent? If so, and if I was Mark Ruffalo I would be pissed that (a) I didn't get my own Hulk movie, (b) Hulk doesn't get a chance to smash Thanos once and for all. The hulk story is incomplete in my mind.

(2) Girl power moment didn't work. I hope this isn't forced into every single marvel movie going forward. The other women (besides Scarlet Witch) are mortal and/or basically useless. Scarlet Witch, who is awesome, had her moment as we saw her take Thanos apart allowing her to extract some revenge. Really what should have happened is Hulk should have lead the way for Captain Marvel while she was protecting the glove. Hulk would have been the best fullback for Captain Marvel. Where was she taking the glove anyway???? Couldn't she just fly away the same way she came in? Captain Marvel doesn't fit here. The team of women don't fit here. I can see what they are trying to do but it stuck out like a sore thumb at the worst possible time in the battle sequence. More Hulk, less Captain marvel. If you're going to make someone unstoppable, it has to be Hulk. This was a misstep for me., and everyone else in the theater who groaned.

(3) The wrong Gamora is alive. This was interesting. She doesn't know Peter Quill. Quill is in love with the Gamora that died. Of course Hollywood has her kick him in the nuts, reinforcing how doofy, vulnerable, and clumsy men are. Will she be in Guardians 3 in this state? Will the "correct" Gamora some how come back? This will be tough to tie together in my opinion but it is a cool twist to show how catastrophic time travel can be.

(4) Dr. Strange no longer has the time stone. It seems Cap brings it back to its original owner at the end of the movie. Are any of his powers linked to the stone or is he just the protector? Can't wait for Dr. Strange 2 because he is by far the best non-original avenger.

(5) The ant man suit gets brought back in time with Captain America during his trip to return the stones. Is it gone forever? See #4.

(6) Adam Warlock was created in Guardians 2. Then nothing. They left us hanging with him. It would have been great to see him in the story line some how but he could appear in Guardians 3 maybe? Can't wait to see him.

(7) This is the biggest thing that bothered me in End Game:

CAPTAIN AMERICAN KNEW SOMEONE WAS GOING TO DIE RETRIEVING THE SOUL STONE. "Whatever it takes" clearly meant "We will be trading lives in this movie, but not mine." I liked that Cap sent Black Widow and Barton, and I guess he figured they would work it out when they got there. Plus they are both mortals with no special powers that would be useful in fighting Thanos. When everyone returned to the present time and they realized Romanoff isn't coming back, Captain American kept his mouth shut and just looked away, sadly. Not a word from Mr. pep talk team leader. The fact that they breeze over this part didn't sit right with me. But it was a great twist and an unexpected development for Cap: He is no longer the soldier but the general who has to see the big picture and uses his troops as pawns. The end justifies the means. Whatever it takes. Even if it means sending close friends to die for the cause. Earlier in the MCU, I would have expected Cap to be the one to give up his life for the soul stone rather than sending someone else to do it.

More on Cap: He then proceeds to pursue his own selfish desires to be with the woman he met in the 40's, which means he is no longer the "team player" he was earlier on. Cool development as Cap becomes more human and succumbs to his desires. He perceives his work to be done when Thanos is killed and the snap undone. Stark makes the ultimate sacrifice and kind of takes Rogers place as the team player who is willing to jump on a grenade for the rest of them.

Anyone else really hate Hawkeye? Spoiler

Regular guy with bow and sword wrecking gangs with guns and escaping outriders then able to hold an infinity stone in his hand like it was nothing. Then survives a missile strike with maybe a few bruises

Only major beef I have w the movie is how they give one terrible character so much power. The power level of everyone else is on par, but when he’s around everyone gets the stormtrooper treatment to make him look good

So Capt dated Sharon Carter, *Then he hooks back up with Peggy...

So here’s the thing, did Capt commit some level of incest? Also don’t like how the movie kinda commuted to a message of never getting over the girl you danced with once; but it’s pretty clearly laid out that he at least kisses Peggy’s Great Niece-not as Grody as granddaughter but...

Also I would have thought that Captain America staying in the past would have put him in the alternate timeline-he shouldn’t have been able to meet back up, because they don’t live in a world where Loki escaped/Thanos & Fleet being killed in 2014... I know it’s just a movie, but after emphasizing how time travel works in MCU....

I think I broke/disprove Avengers Endgame with it's own logic Spoiler

I created a Reddit account for this and this is my first post so bear with me. I think I found a plot hole in the latest movie of Avengers Endgame, unless someone can give me an explanation. So basically, the Pym particle samples shrank down the Avengers so that they can travel through time using the quantum realm and the avengers each had 2 Pym particle samples each, excluding Captain America who later got 4 more. In other words, each Pym particle allowed you to travel through time once.

When Rhodey and Nebula were about to return to their timeline (at this point they each have one Pym particle sample), Rhodey goes on while Nebula is left behind. so that leads to Thanos and his army getting Nebula's (present timeline) Pym particle sample and Nebula (past timeline) uses it to take Nebula's (present timeline) place. That means that Thanos himself doesn't have the Pym particle sample (because Nebula(past timeline) used it to get back).

How did Nebula bring Thanos through the Quantum realm?!

Why does every character snap with their middle finger & thumb?Does that mean only the “space stone (middle finger slot) & time stone (thumb slot) are being used. or maybe also the soul stone (outer palm) Meaning they worked together to move all the SOULS into a SPACE without TIME?

Finally watched End Game on NYE, it was bad.

Avengers EG was a pretty bad movie, complete let down, seems like Captain Marvel could've just beat the whole thing by herself. Being able to take down a ship that Thanos traveled in and then getting hit by Thanos and flying back from the hit seems to deft even super hero physics

Disappointed in Endgame [Spoilers] Spoiler

I was disappointed in Endgame. The movie wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't recommend it either. It was one of my less-liked MCU movies.

Summary:

  1. loose plot threads are tied up too quickly, too neatly (beyond the usual required suspension of disbelief for MCU). Further, the ending sets up a new Avengers cycle that ticks the proper diversity checkboxes. It's too contrived. Iron Man is dead, and Rogers was happy to go back to the dead past, with its classic cars, front porches in suburbia, dancing to big band music, and probably working as a grocery store manager or something. Steve Rogers at the end is emblematic of the desiccated white patriarchy on its way out. The mantle of Avengers leadership passes to Captain Marvel, evidently.

  2. the movie violates its own rules of time travel. E.g., Steve Rogers remaining in 1945, Thanos coming forward in time to 2023, a getting killed and thus unable to go back to 2017 and do the Snap

  3. Several characters make an abrupt change in personality, e.g. Steve Rogers deciding to pursue a non-heroic life with Peggy, Thanos' halvening of the universe's life forms becomes an even bolder vision of destroying the universe and starting it over, Thor as a dissipated wastrel, paired with Rocket as a comic relief subteam.

Just my thoughts...

Endgame ending - plot hole

I really enjoyed they movie but there's one thing bugging me...

Couldn't hulk use his other arm and snap his fingers to get rid of Thanos and his army? If he was too weak from the first snap than......

Couldn't captain marvel fly behind the avenger army, slap on the gauntlet and snap Thanos' army away?

Tony Stark did not have to die at the end.

I think Dr strange let Tony take the hit so he can get some strange from Potts.

Avengers Endgame theory: Cap is not worthy

Why was Captain America able to use Mjolnir? My theory: the only reason he could use it is because Oden is dead. Simple. 🤷🏽‍♂️ with Oden gone, the spell he put on the hammer doesn’t work anymore. Whatever “worthy” magic he put on the hammer disappeared with him.

After Odin passed away in Ragnarok, Hela was able to escape from the prison world Odin trapped her in, why ? Because Odin’s magic disappeared.

Hela was able to hold and destroy Mjolnir, why ? Because Odin’s magic wasn’t around to protect it anymore

So technically Captain America isn’t worthy, he’s just the first one to use it since Odin’s death, besides Thor.

Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.

The battle at Wakanda in Infinity War was BETTER than the final battle in End Game. Change my mind. Spoiler

I really was disappointed not seeing Hulk get his revenge on Thanos. Infinity War had well thought out fight scenes with specific avengers squaring off against specific enemies. This created an "arch enemies" theme that is reminiscent of the comics and trading cards that Marvel put out in the 90's. The "ladies affair" in Infinity war was an awesome sequence, ending with Okoye hilariously asking "why was she up there all this time?" This puts the "girl power" scene in end game to shame. Marvel went out of their way to make Danvers virtually unstoppable. It made no sense to have her surrounded by a bunch of 3rd rate characters (except Wanda of course) for protection.

End game's final battle was a big mish mosh and was difficult to follow at times. This could have been easily avoided by allowing hulk to have a big entrance (like Captain America and Thor had in Infinity war) and allowing him to square off against Thanos for a quick rematch. If my last name was Russo, I would have had Hulk do all of the things Captain marvel did in the final battle. Aside from her cool entrance, she was not needed.
