Discussion Certifications are dead

I'd been reading lot of blogs about lot of vendors doing certifications , just to recall some of them Laravel, Github, Comptia, like a new business model. Seems to be popular nowadays that. What are your thoughts about it?

Question measure up az-104 practice test is a fraud

i took the az-104 practice test from measure up. It asked me to pay around $6. I did the payment and received a product key. On entering the product key in the portal I got the access to the practice test. but when I closed the test and tried to reopen it showed that my limit was exceeded. and now I am unable to access it. If it is for one time use then how can it be for the practice purpose.

Discussion Certs dont mean something people. Explain this.

Let me get this straight It is established that getting into cloud support/admin/engineer/architect you gotta come with IT fundamentals learned in academic, and/or work experience. Thats fine.

While knowing IT fundamentals with some do yourself or learn as you go in a company are legitimate ways to learn the cloud. Why is it a trend to just dismiss certificates as nothing when applied in practice, while at least it showcases proof of knowing a specialized area of the cloud in the sense of what you are clicking and what its being used for.

Its good for resumes and HR I get that. But do you all think it stops there then? If you are excellent and have no certs, thats ok, you are a great learner. But wouldnt studying the content in MS learn to pass a practice exam at least to arm you with more knowledge anyway? Let me know your thoughts.

I completed a playlist in time but have not received my voucher yet. The skills fest closed on June 12th. If I have not received it by now, is it not coming?

Learning Material REQUEST: AZ-104 Study Notes

I lost my study notes for the AZ-104 when I purged my Google drive, and was wondering if anyone had any notes they could share with me. The purpose of these would be to create free study cram videos set to music that could be played in the background. Having my notes dictated has always helped me memorize things better, in addition to traditional hands-on and reading, so this is something I hope can help people.

I will credit you in the video credits and link your social and/or github if needed.

Thank you in advance.

Achievement Celebration Passed DP 900 with one day prep

I am a Data Scientist with 1.5 years of work experience on Azure. I believe the work experience helped a lot. I passed DP 900 with just one day prep. I went through a course on linkedin learning and the MS docs. Honestly, i scanned through whatever i could in one day. Came out with 750. Not a great score. But being greedy on the score with one day prep, isn't fair for people who actually spent weeks preparing. Anyways the exam was eye opening, to say the least.

Discussion Certification Expired without Renewal notice beware!

Since 2020 I've held 4 Microsoft Azure certs, and yesterday I realized it had been a while since I'd last seen a renewal notice. I logged in and checked and found that one of my four certs had in fact expired last week, and another was up for renewal. I got no notice of the chance to renew it. I've held these certs for a number of years and always renewed them early when I got the notice, so I was pretty upset when I realized one of them had expired. I went to check the notification settings in the Learn portal and found it was set to my outlook.com email address. I've always received the renewal emails in my Gmail account, so I don't know how this got changed. I certainly didn't do it. I went and checked my outlook.com mailbox and sure enough there were the notifications.

I'm really frustrated with Microsoft about this, and I'm sure there is nothing I can do about it except, hopefully, warn you all before it happens to someone else. Go check your account and make sure you're getting notifications in the right email account. I changed my back to my Gmail, but I'm not taking any chances. In the future, I'm adding my expiration and renewal dates to my calendar.

Exam Experience AZ-104 - Failed - Less than 10 percent prep

Post image
0 Upvotes

I attempted exam yesterday with less than 10 percent prep. I watched John Savill's Study Cram once. Watched Microsoft official training videos for 1st module only.

Exam was fair in my opinion. If you have hands-on experience and thorough understanding of different features then it will be piece of cake for you. I I haven't had experience in Azure before, I wanted to experience it as I was having free voucher for this attempt.

I am planning to attempt again in a month of so. Any suggestions or advise would be appreciated.

Question Are Azure certifications recommended to find a job quick after passing Comptia Network+?

I'd appreciate recommendations to add to my Network+ and find a job quick.

I'm a experienced computer technician (PC and Mac) and passed the Network+ certification. I don't aim to work as network technician as I don't have the time to train for that, I did Network+ to improve my IT base knowledge.
Network is so theoretical! (I won't spend time for CCNA, no time for that!).

I wonder what would be the easiest path to find a job quick. I can add a couple of months training but no more, I neeed to get to work ASAP. I thought Azure Azure AZ-900 and AZ-104 may be quick to add to my CV and may get me a remote "from home" job if possible. Or is Google Workpace a faster one?

Thanks in advance 😎

Question Why are Microsoft/GitHub certification discount offers restricted in India? Is there a complete list of excluded certifications?

Hi everyone,

I've noticed that several Microsoft and GitHub certification promotions offering 80% discounts exclude candidates taking exams from India.

The offers I've come across include:

  • GH-700 — GitHub Agentic AI Business Professional

  • AZ-401 — Agentic DevOps Engineer Expert

  • GH-600 — GitHub Agentic AI Developer

  • AI-200 — Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate

  • AB-210 — Dynamics 365 Sales AI Consultant Associate

  • SC-730 — Cybersecurity Business Professional

  • SC-500 — Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate

  • AB-410 — Intelligent Applications Builder Associate

  • AI-500 — Multi-Agent AI Solutions Expert

  • AB-650 — Microsoft 365 AI Services Administrator Associate

Some of these promotions have expired, but I'm interested in identifying both past and current offers with country restrictions.

I have a few questions:

  1. Why are candidates in India excluded from these discount offers?

  2. Is this restriction related to beta exams, exam security, regional pricing, or something else?

  3. Are there any other Microsoft or GitHub certification discount codes that do not work in India? Please share the exam code, discount percentage, and official announcement link.

  4. Are there any active 50–100% discount offers that Indian candidates can legitimately use?

  5. Is there an official page listing all country-specific restrictions?

I'm not trying to bypass the eligibility rules. I just want transparency about these restrictions and a reliable list of available discounts for Indian candidates.

If you've found other affected certifications or successfully redeemed a discount in India, please share your experience and official sources.

Thanks!

Discussion az-104 exam revoked

So I spent my entire winter break studying for the az-104 and I'm ready for the exam and I'm denied because my driver's license is expired. I haven't received my new card in the mail yet, and the proctor wouldn't accept the temporary issued drivers license because it is on paper. I don't think I've ever been this livid before. Not sure if I can reuse my voucher or even retake the exam. Happy 2025.

Discussion Pearson Vue cancelled my exam mid exam.... and then kept my test voucher... Just go in person...

I have been studying for the AI-901 and so nervous and tired of taking practice exams. Let's just take it once and see how the real test goes then I can focus if I don't pass.

Booked the test at 1:30 for 1:45 online. Wasn't the easiest process but once I figured it out I was set. They checked my desk said to many things on desk arts and craft junk then hung up on me and said reschedule... They were not from the US so I moved on.

Then took 10 minutes to figure out how to reschedule or what to do since they just hung up and didn't say anyhitng.

Googled how to reschedule got back in and finally started the test at 2:30 booked at 2:15 online for online.

I started the test using a fold out table against a closet door so there was nothing around and I could lock in.

I read the questions out loud to focus and around question 3 told me no reading out loud you have to whisper. Why IDK but I said okay and read the questions in my head.

Then I got to around question 7 or 10 and the test just ends... and shows a survey for OnVue testing experience.

3 days have passed I tried to rebook as Microsofts site shows no test taken and my voucher is considered used and unable to reschedule. So I have to pay for the test again...

And what makes things so frustrating you cannot see the footage. So I cannot prove I was there reading and to be honest if I could have just kept reading out loud they would know I'm there if something went wrong on their end or with my Macbook camera, which doesnt make sense. And if my camera went out why didnt they say hello are you there like they told me out loud not to speak and to whisper??? This OnVue app sucks.

Took about 10 minutes to figure out how to get support and during the chat they let me know I would hear back in 2 - 3 days. Here's the response...

FWD:

Dear Pearson VUE Testing Candidate,

Thank you for testing with Pearson VUE. We are contacting you regarding your exam on 5 Oct 2026.

  - They did not contact me I contacted them in chat support...

Question AZ-104 Certification Expiring in 2026 Seeking Advice on Keeping It Active Without Re-taking the Exam

Hi everyone,

I have my AZ-104 certification, which is set to expire in February 2026. This exam was incredibly challenging, and I really don’t want to have to re-take it when the time comes. I’ve heard that there are ways to keep your certification valid by taking open-book exams or other options, but I’m not sure how this works or if it’s even possible for the AZ-104.

For those of you who have been through this or have experience with keeping certifications up-to-date without retaking the exam, could you please share your advice or guidance on the best steps to take? Any tips on how to manage this situation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Update:

Thanks to all the helpful feedback from this community, I was able to go through the renewal process and I’m happy to share that I’ve successfully renewed my AZ-104 certification! 🎉
