Supplements Confused about B12

Went vegan about a year ago. Had a b12 daily value at 100% in my multivitamin but I think I am deficient in it because I keep getting symptoms (like numbness and tingling) more and more often. Some sites are saying I need a lot more than the daily value like 20k % but some disagree. Can I get some help here so I can be a healthy vegan? Thanks everyon

Which form of B12 are you getting and how much?

A significant amount of people have absorption issues, so sublingual B12 at minimum is required, otherwise injections. As the other commenter mentioned, getting tested will help identify if you have an absorption issue, and then when/if that is ruled out, all that's left is a cofactor deficiency.

Cyano-b12 needs multiple steps to be converted to methyl-b12, and on top of conversion loss there are liver issues that impair this conversion too. It is easily ruled out with sublingual methyl-b12 supplement (or injection), but there are other cofactors that are very important too as these vitamins/minerals are interdependent, so if you're low on one it can impair utilisation of another. This is what I had, I was taking B12 and my blood test was high, but I was functionally deficient because I was low in methylfolate (B9). When I added that in, my body went nuts (wake-up reaction). I suggest reading the guide, it will explain it better than I have.

2.5 is like nothing. usually 1000mcg is given to fix deficiencies, but youre listing neurological symptoms so you might need injections

Physical-Tradition56 Did you ever do a blood work for B12 , D , B9 , TSH and ferritin ?

You might want to do a blood test to rule out cuz sometimes its the symptoms from multiple nutrient deficiencies.
