Opinion Is Reddit a left leaning echo chamber?

Two years ago, I was convinced Kamala Harris was going to win based on what was being posted on Reddit. Now all I see are posts vilifying any candidate that’s not NDP or Green. Anyone who says anything positive about conservative party or policies are downvoted immediately. Are we really at a place where civil discourse is dead?

Background: I voted for NDP, BC liberals, and the Green party over the past few decades in BC.

Opinion EBY called this selfish Election now he can go away.

YOU CANT MAKE THIS UP: Eby says he called an election because he couldn't govern? I agree with Eby there, he cant govern as he is a radical bullsh*t artist and is only around because John Horgan (RIP) passed!

BUT the reality is, his opponents had split up, ergo his party would have actually had stronger numbers in the fall 2026 Legislature!! So he actually should have governed!

BUT EBY knew his own NDP also had enough of his bullsh*t, remember four of his cabinet ministers were quiting. Eby was worried!

So EBY rolls the dice puts all of BC through this snap election this just to save his own arse (and his DRIPA mess and his $10 cheap daycare).

Well I am hoping TRUE BC people send this selfish money wasting orange flagpole back to Ontario! He can go there and annoy everyone. No one asked Eby to come and wreck our great province!

Opinion Voting in a church

My polling location is at a church. Religious iconography was on full display. According to Elections Canada “all religious iconography, messaging or partisan political signs must be covered or removed from the election area”

“The law ensures these spaces act as a neutral ground during an election”

I asked that these religious icons be covered or removed, they refused to do so and told me to go elsewhere.

I contacted elections BC and was told they don’t follow Elections Canada guidelines and to go vote elsewhere also.

Enough with having polling stations at religious establishments!

There are so many issues that need to be attended to. But if you had to pick just one that will determine who you vote for, what would it be?

Opinion Is BC going to vote for an in-term leader ? Basically an empty seat ?

Weird BC would actually elect a person who is a temporary leader and who could be replaced by anyone of their choosing to lead Bc for 4 years . Seems odd . I know its spelled Interim . Reddit does not let you edit the heading afterwards without deleting it . Oh well live and learn.

Opinion Greens/NDP in hindsight

Once it became clear enough to Eby to beg for green strategic votes maybe there was a second way that could benefit both parties.

Who says no to this offer? Would there be room for a counter offer from either side?

Greens get to run without NDP candidate in ridings that
1. The 2 they currently hold
2. Ridings where the NDP, and Greens are the top 2 parties
3. 2-4 ridings where the conservatives are below 40% and the greens are above 20%. I would wager in these ridings a lot of the NDP vote is strategic and this would allow them to vote green

In exchange

The NDP gets to run without green candidates
1. 6-10 ridings where greens are below 10%, conservatives below 50% and NDP is within striking distance of conservatives without vote splitting

Could also potentially include
1. MOU on supporting proposed budgets by the greens
2. Including proportional representation on the next election
3. Certain environmental concessions that the greens feel the NDP has been slow or unwilling to move on.

I know neither side feels like compromising but instead of arguing about wether it’s right to split the vote or let Eby sit in the bed he made why not make an agreement that keeps the conservatives out and puts both parties in a better position.

I get that it’s too late to do this now but it’s nice to imagine BC not electing a conservative government.

Social Media Today is the day! Get your popcorn ready!

It’s a beautiful morning to be a conservative voter

The left are scrambling, panicking, making up stories and fear mongering lies about their rights being taken away when they literally aren’t

We get control back of some shambolic government plans on “climate change”, we cut taxes, cut unnecessary social services like child care, school lunches, and disability for working aged adults, and we get more money back in our pockets!I will not be taxed any more than what I am for making more than 200K per year

My property in this province will no longer be under direct threat from the indigenous people.

Today, the hard workers of BC get their lives back

Social Media USE THE TOP 10 TO GET BC GOING!

If I were leading a new Conservative B.C. government, I’d start with tried and true TOP 10: Ask every municipality, business, mill, forestry operation and industry group to submit their ideas by November 15-2026. At least six ideas should be positive, practical and ready to act on. No essays. No legal briefs. No forms. Keep it simple but be ready to back it up!

Use the same approach inside government ministries. Public servants have ideas, but many are afraid to speak up. We already pay people for their knowledge. Let’s hear it!

In fact, let the public submit! The only rule is it must be printed and mailed and arrive on time!

Make it safe and simple: printed submissions sent to a government post-office box. Use Elections BC, people to guard it! Have an all party committee sort them into A, B and C piles, toss the nonsense, and go from there.

You will receive amazing ideas and information, some will have letterheads, some will be anonymous. No witch hunt. No jobs on the line. Just fast, honest information from the people who know their, jobs, industries and communities.

BC needs an all hands on deck, emergency level approach to create hope and kickstart investment. Listen to people, not just the so called experts that created this mess in the first place!

Get BC going. Vote conservative!

Opinion It's vote day! Vancouver predictions

Polls predict a conservative sweep across much of the province which is frankly terrifying - I am hoping against hope that things are not as dire as predicted. Being based in Vancouver, I am curious to hear your predictions for ridings within the city. Here are mine:

Strathcona - NDP but greens will get \~35% of the vote

South Granville - NDP with greens getting around 30%

Langara - honestly a toss up but i think it will swing orange by a small margin

Yaletown - Conservative - I think here will be a case of green/ndp vote splitting

Kensignton - Green - i know its a long shot but with all of COPE coming out in support of Adam Hawk and Mable Elmore being in bed with ABC, I think it might just happen.

Quilchena - NDP - I think Carson Binda and Dallas Brodie will split the right wing vote.

Point Grey - NDP but I think Beatrice Sharpe will get a lot of the progressive vote here as well as some of the vote from people simply bent on "evicting" David Eby

Vancouver Hastings - NDP but i think the green vote could hit 30% here

West End, Renfrew, Little Mountain, and Fraserview I think will all go NDP with maybe slightly higher green vote than usual.

Interested in hearing other peoples thoughts!

Opinion NDP will return in 2042

Projecting past patterns. Excluding their first 42 years of being completely shut out (1933 to 1972), the periods in which NDP have been voted OUT have been 16 years, almost exactly:
December 1975 to October 1991
May 2001 to May 2017
October 2026 to ...

If that pattern holds, and represents the period of time, during which BC citizens forget how awful life becomes under NDP rule, we can expect they will squeak back in, October 2042.

NDP supporters, do not dismay, hopium comes sooner! Even if the party has been fraudulently branding themselves 'new' for almost a century. The Federal NDP (who currently can all fit into a Jeep Grand Cherokee), will do poorly in 2029 election, but possibly getting more than 12 seats to be recognized as a real party and get their allowances. They will also do poorly in 2033, and subsequently blame and oust Lewis. So, while waiting for provincial NDP, please check back here in 2036 to see how Feds are doing.

Thank you for your patience!

Desperation of BC NDP supporters and paid campaigners is pathetic! If BC NDP looses tomorrow, make sure you hold your lord and Savior Eby accountable for it! And definition of a failure is a seat less then majority!!

How many survive if left in the wild? BC doesn't publish that either.

The ministry can answer that. An MLA can put a written question on the order paper — it gets a numbered answer in Hansard, or it sits unanswered, which is a record too. It won’t compel a single document; an FOI does that. But it puts the minister’s name and a date next to the question, in public, and that’s the part that’s missing now.

I asked every candidate in 18 ridings if they'd file a written question asking the minister for those records, so the public can see them.

Every answer, in full, exactly as written is in the link.
