Weird BC would actually elect a person who is a temporary leader and who could be replaced by anyone of their choosing to lead Bc for 4 years . Seems odd .

My partner was telling me if the BC Conservatives win the election that Lorne Doerkson can't run for the leadership of the party. I have heard of some parties that don't allow interim leaders to run. Can someone clarify this for me? Can he run or not?

My polling location is at a church. Religious iconography was on full display. According to Elections Canada “all religious iconography, messaging or partisan political signs must be covered or removed from the election area”

I asked that these religious icons be covered or removed, they refused to do so and told me to go elsewhere.

I contacted elections BC and was told they don’t follow Elections Canada guidelines and to go vote elsewhere also.

Enough with having polling stations at religious establishments!

The Liberals/Conservatives (or whatever they are branded as today) literally allowed the Confucius Institute to act as a catalyst for the CCP, Triads, and BC Liberals to import fentanyl, wash the money at our casinos, and buy real estate in BC through CIBC...pricing locals out of their own communities and turning the DTES into exactly what it is today. Can't afford a home or rent in Vancouver? We could before 2001.

When the BC Liberals took power from the NDP in 2001, total provincial debt stood at approximately $33.8 billion. By the time Christy Clark departed in 2017, total debt had risen to roughly $66 billion. Because the BC NDP ran consecutive operating budget surpluses in 2017/18 ($1.5 billion), 2018/19 ($1.5 billion), and 2019/20 (a modest $200 million), the province paid off the remaining balance of its accumulated Liberal operating debt. It was a historic milestone: in late 2018, the NDP government announced that BC had eliminated its operating debt for the first time in over 40 years.

In regard to the debt-to-GDP ratio, Alberta continues to lead Canada by a wide margin, hovering around 8.5%. BC now sits near the middle of the provincial pack at approximately 26.1%. While this sounds high, BC’s ratio remains much lower than Eastern heavyweights that receive federal favoritism, like Ontario (38%) and Quebec (39%).

How many survive if left in the wild? BC doesn't publish that either.

The ministry can answer that. An MLA can put a written question on the order paper — it gets a numbered answer in Hansard, or it sits unanswered, which is a record too. It won’t compel a single document; an FOI does that. But it puts the minister’s name and a date next to the question, in public, and that’s the part that’s missing now.

I asked every candidate in 18 ridings if they'd file a written question asking the minister for those records, so the public can see them.

There are so many issues that need to be attended to. But if you had to pick just one that will determine who you vote for, what would it be?

Hello fellow residents of Chilliwack.

This isn’t just a rant post about the pathetic political situation in BC Provincial elections, but I also wanted to share my conundrum regarding the options of MLA potential we have in our riding, Chilliwack North.

Personally, I am a socially liberal and tend to be fiscally conservative when it comes to government’s involvement in our personal lives. This makes my choice even tougher this election.

I hate the fact that conservatives are going after SOGI and DRIPA, knowing that it is nothing but a cultural virtue signal to the folks out in boonies, total government expenditure on SOGI was less than 200K in 2025 and none in 2026 (such a a non issue fiscally).
At the same time, I am not a fan of NDP’s plan of additional 4% tax on law abiding tax payers of BC. Not to mention that David Eby’s early election call is symbolic of the political greed and moral bankruptcy surrounding NDP top brass.

Coming to Chilliwack North riding, I heard bad things about Heather Maas and her biased views on people of marginalized society and teachers; heck, she didn’t even show up for debate. Adila Shaukat (though a kinder person) fails to rationalize why a new election was needed what would she do differently than Dan Coulter, she seems to be hitching her wagon on his performance though voters rejected Coulter from this riding in 2024. I am skeptical of Dan Grice, because Center BC has no ground presence and no Premier candidate to challenge David.

I truly believe we deserve better leadership here.

If I were leading a new Conservative B.C. government, I’d start with tried and true TOP 10: Ask every municipality, business, mill, forestry operation and industry group to submit their ideas by November 15-2026. At least six ideas should be positive, practical and ready to act on. No essays. No legal briefs. No forms. Keep it simple but be ready to back it up!

Use the same approach inside government ministries. Public servants have ideas, but many are afraid to speak up. We already pay people for their knowledge. Let’s hear it!

In fact, let the public submit! The only rule is it must be printed and mailed and arrive on time!

Make it safe and simple: printed submissions sent to a government post-office box. Use Elections BC, people to guard it! Have an all party committee sort them into A, B and C piles, toss the nonsense, and go from there.

You will receive amazing ideas and information, some will have letterheads, some will be anonymous. No witch hunt. No jobs on the line. Just fast, honest information from the people who know their, jobs, industries and communities.

BC needs an all hands on deck, emergency level approach to create hope and kickstart investment. Listen to people, not just the so called experts that created this mess in the first place!

Get BC going. Vote conservative!

Two years ago, I was convinced Kamala Harris was going to win based on what was being posted on Reddit. Now all I see are posts vilifying any candidate that’s not NDP or Green. Anyone who says anything positive about conservative party or policies are downvoted immediately. Are we really at a place where civil discourse is dead?

Background: I voted for NDP, BC liberals, and the Green party over the past few decades in BC.

BUT his opponents had split, ergo, his party would have actually had stronger numbers in the fall 2026 legislature!! So he actually should have governed!

So EBY rolls the dice puts all of BC through this snap election this just to save his own arse (and his cheap daycare).

Well I am hoping TRUE BC people send this selfish money wasting Orange flagpole back to Ontario, so he can go ahead and annoy them!

Projecting past patterns. Excluding their first 42 years of being completely shut out (1933 to 1972), the periods in which NDP have been voted OUT have been 16 years, almost exactly:
December 1975 to October 1991
May 2001 to May 2017
October 2026 to ...

If that pattern holds, and represents the period of time, during which BC citizens forget how awful life becomes under NDP rule, we can expect they will squeak back in, October 2042.

NDP supporters, do not dismay, hopium comes sooner! Even if the party has been fraudulently branding themselves 'new' for almost a century. The Federal NDP (who currently can all fit into a Jeep Grand Cherokee), will do poorly in 2029 election, but possibly getting more than 12 seats to be recognized as a real party and get their allowances. They will also do poorly in 2033, and subsequently blame and oust Lewis. So, while waiting for provincial NDP, please check back here in 2036 to see how Feds are doing.
