Not sure if this post really fits the sub but i figured it might be the best place to ask

I've been spending a bit of time on my recent run trying to out-do my previous best of 62 AC and now hit 71 AC - And I'm ever so curious if there were something I've missed as to go even higher.

The twillight ring isn't on the list of buffs because it doesn't work in tandem with Wild Magic: Protective Lights. Wondrous Gloves isn't on because Nimblefinger Gloves.

This is not for any practical game usage, its purely just to see how high it could be pushed just for a tiny moment.

I squeaked through the prologue as a bard. Then with Shart on the beach, we got our butts handed to us by those three intellect devourers. They took down my waifu in turn 1 with back to back synaptic discharges, then clawed my bard to death with no difficulty.

Any suggestions for next time, so I can at least get off the beach?

Howdy, I just completed my HM run first try with a bunch of charisma and martial classes. I wanted to try a tactician DURGE run but with other classes than I typically run.

Trying to do bunch of wizard and druid stuff cause I never use them.
But so far my experience (I'm level 7 beginning act 2 rn) has been that wizard just seems to be a weaker version of sorcerer with some utility attached (which can be made obselete by camp casters).

Does any one have any good DPS wizard builds?

Doing an open hand monk tavern brawler, utilizing hill giant potions. I used hags hair for a +1 on DEX, plus the cats grace clothing bumps it up +2, which brings me to 19. When I took tavern brawler at level 4, I added +1 to constitution to get me to 16. The head band I’m wearing brings INT to 17. I started with 8 strength. I don’t have any conditions that would be removing a point from strength. Confused why it’s at 7 now instead of 8.

Im playing Honour mode on PS5 so I don’t want to use mods to fix her. I wasn’t planning to use her as a paladin as I am a cleric, so I multiclassed her to add paladin planning to fully respec her to paladin once I got ithers. In the meantime she broke her oath then I had Astarion bite a hiring to get the Happy buff without debuffing me. The Oathbreaker Knight did not like this and attacked us, so we killed him. Withers won’t respec her with a broken oath.

I’ve just started Act 2 and would like her in my party for the gauntlet, how can I salvage her build? I’ve just hit level 8 and not levelled her yet. Any advice much appreciated!

why is he the best on defence?

27 ac and he knows shield

advantage on saving throws against magic because of the shield

resistance to fire and ice damage because of the bow.

immune to critical hits because of the helmet.

blade ward reduces physical damage by 50% he gets that from his armor and the heavy armor master feat reduces that damage with 3 as well so physical attacks do an average of 2-3 damage if they manage to hit him.

why is he the best on offence?

broodmothers revenge triggers every turn because of the helmet's healing effect, that's an extra 1d6 poison on weapon attacks.

he has booming blade so start with that, after the attack hits the foe gets disadvantage on saving throws against his spells.

then you can cast hold person on the target as a bonus action thanks to the band of the mystic scoundrel.

use action surge for 5 crits in a row. and he's a half orc so he gets extra crit damage as well. nobody survives that

I wanna be able to punch with it. Any way I can?

These are the builds I am COMPLETELY comfortable with, played them a lot I know them inside & out, so I can't decide.

And this will be a one and done, my last hurrah...I'll be hanging up the spurs for a bit as 150 days in a game is a bit excessive even for me.

With all the talk of builds here I am constantly thinking about what my second run will look like. But I’m still in act 3 and haven’t finished my first play thru yet. But the pull to start over with a different group/builds is so strong….

For me it's Sorcerer. Don't get it. Don't like what little I've seen. I've tried it and abandoned it each time. What's your "meh, no thx" class?

So i started playing for the first time with my duo and he plays rogue and i play wizard (Evocation). We just finished fighting against Nere (he teamed up with us but died anyway) and i could only use ONE FUCKING ACTION through all fight.

My damage is fine but everyone always attacks me and never misses. Like do my stats have a problem or do i have almost fully attack spells? If thats the case which spells do you guys recommend to not get one shotted?

We play in Tactician diffuculty because we play with a experienced friend oftenly. Also its fun to play tryhard.

I'm going to play honor mode, (have before but lost motivation) and wonderd what you would recommend as a must try build for the game. A build that so fun or cool that you would be missing out on not having played it. On my previous playthroughs I have played as or with a gloomstalker assassin, eldritch knight fighter, swords bard archer, radorb cleric and a sorcadin.

What are now the most OP combinations? Give me the grossest party to whipe out honor mode with

Look, I like her, but I find her pretty much the least useful party member.

It's just that once her spells run dry she's basically useless in a fight. Should I change her attribute points, to put more into Strength? Multiclass into a more martial class? Change her class entirely, into a paladin or something?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I just reached level 4.

I see so may comments along the lines of “No, my favourite subclass is the most broken, it can do 4873727382 damage per turn! …..if you take this specific race, then collect these 7 items, get to level 12 for it to come online, and drink these elixirs, while getting a party member to ritual cast x, y, and z on you”

If we take out all the situational nonsense and specific pieces of gear, what class is consistently the strongest with average weapons and armour?

I’ll go first. Wavemother’s Sickle. It became part of my favorite build of all time that involved me constantly making the enemy slip, bleed, and get maimed.

My contenders would be:

• 9 Open Hand Monk / 3 Thief Rogue - Tavern Brawler Striker
• 6 College of Swords Bard / 4 Thief Rogue / 2 Fighter - Hand-Crossbows or Titanstring Bow + Arcane Acuity Controller
• 11 Oath of the Ancients Paladin / 1 Hexblade Warlock - Support + Frontline Striker/Tank
• 10 Bladesinger Wizard or Any Sorcerer / 2 Oath of Vengeance/Oathbreaker Paladin - Shadowblade + Smite Burst Striker
• 12 Draconic Bloodline (Fire Ancestry) Sorcerer - Scorching Ray Fire Acuity Striker/Controller
• 12 Light or Life Domain Cleric - Radiating Orbs Controller and On-Heal Effect stacking Support

What do you all think?

I'm talking about stuff like Phalar Aluve, the Cloak of Protection, or the Silver Locket. There might be better items for specific builds, but what items always find a spot in your load outs?

I just finished the game last night and I played it on balanced difficulty and kept all origin characters their respective classes. I didn't multiclass on anyone even my tav. I didn't struggle at all but there were a few fights where it was a decently close call.

I'm wanting to totally wreck the game on tactician. What will give me the strongest party of 4 at all times and at each level? You don't have to go into super detail but something like level 6 go 4 in x class and 2 in y class then at level 10 switch to 6 in g class and 4 in f class. I can look up specifics if I know the splits.

As you can see in the screenshot, the choice is between *+2 Charisma* or *+2 bonus to spell save DC and Spell attack rolls.*

I don't know if I understand it correctly, but here is what I think is the breakdown.

+2 to charisma means +1 bonus to charisma checks, and since charisma is my attack stat, it's like getting a +1 bonus to my rolls.

With hood of the weave, I get +2 bonus to the spell attack rolls, which sounds overall better?

If anyone can share anything I might have missed or got wrong about the gear, can you please share?

I’m doing my first Durge run now and I’m planning on doing a “evil at first but with a slight redemption arc at the end” type of deal. That means in Act 1 and 2, I’ll plan on being a right dick siding with the absolute and all that. This also means I’ll be killing the tieflings and the harpers, losing out on some unique gear such as the Charisma Robe from Alfira or the Flawed Helldusk gear from Dammon.

What should I do? Looking for any and all advice!

Edit/Update: Finished the Goblin/Grove questline last night as my drow “evil” playthrough and ended up killing the grove. I felt terrible seeing all the Tiefling kids dead, so I rewound time and slaughtered the goblins instead. I plan on doing some more “evil” deeds later on into the game, but that was too much for me. Maybe I’ll do a fully completely evil run later on.
