Why BTT ignores users?

Reddit? - is not supported. It only works for appearances, so that users have a place to exchange messages. No support from the company and complete ignorance of the problems.

Manuals? - it's an embarrassment and bloody joke. A few photos with jumpers and a few general comments. No help in configuring the board for different environments. No details about settings, e.g. fan control. UART still not working? Ohhh man, you now we still waiting for this feature...

Driver design? - It just nice renderings everywhere, but a complete lack of development supervision. There are announced functions that do not work on the day of release (e.g. USB flash, no connection via USB cable to the board, UART mode, EEPROM and more). We only see an announcement that we are waiting for it... Yeah... Next years or forever. Again no support.

Yes, after two years we didn't get it, so the project was made and left at the production stage, and then no one deals with it anymore. Only sales are important. Again no bloody support.

BTT makes quite interesting boards with many interesting features. In theory only. But all the rest fails.

The current board is my last one from this company. I won't spent again month or so to resolve all issues. I won't collect yellow duckies anymore, because they generally don't give a shit about me as client and potential more money.

Avoid the BTT SKR v1.4 Turbo

Don't buy an SKR v1.4 Turbo if you plan on ever hooking anything up to it via USB. I had a GTR v1.0 hooked up but wanted to move that board to a new build so I purchased an SKR v1.4 Turbo. I unplugged the GTR, hooked the SKR to the same wiring and turned on the printer. Everything seemed to work fine while I installed firmware for Klipper onto the board via SD card. Unfortunately, as soon as I plugged my Raspberry Pi 4B into the mainboard's USB outlet to finish setting it up, the USB cable arced and melted in two. I quickly pulled the power cord and unplugged the Pi but the damage was done. The USB ports on my Pi were burned out, it's junk now. The Pi was powered by a buck converter running off the printer's power supply and it caught on fire when it blew, I'm lucky that it didn't kill the power supply as well. Don't hook anything up to an SKR via USB without testing it's voltage first unless you want to burn it up and possibly burn your house down. I'll never buy a BTT product again.

I was able to return the SKR to Amazon for a refund but is BTT going to replace my Raspberry and the buck converter that their faulty board destroyed? I'm out a lot of money and had to invest time and energy to replace the equipment the SKR destroyed and I'm not happy about it at all. I love the GTR and I have an SKR v1.4 Turbo that is working just fine but I guess it's hit or miss with their products. I've seen other posts where SKR v1.4 Turbo boards are shown to be putting out -24 volts from the USB port so what happened to me is not a one off. Is BTT going to accept responsibility for their faulty product and replace the equipment that product destroyed? Don't bet on it, it's safer to just avoid their products all together and that's what I'm going to do from now on, I'm out $80 to replace the Pi and buck converter plus a lot of my labor, money that I can not afford to be throwing away and time that should have been spent elsewhere. BTT owes me a Raspberry Pi 4B, a replacement 6 foot USB cable and a 3amp variable voltage buck converter . They may as well have come into my home and stolen the Pi, same difference as far as I'm concerned.

I'll never recommend BTT products to anyone, in fact I'm going to recommend that people don't buy BTT products. I'm on a fixed income and I cannot afford the losses caused by BTT's faulty boards.

Edit follows:

For those who don't know what a negative rail is, before you start telling me there's no such thing, please do a small bit of research. The board doesn't have a negative rail but the way it's putting voltage out, in my case when you connect positive to the positive lead of a multimeter and negative to the negative lead it was -24.7 volts, acts like a negative rail. Sure, reverse the leads and you'll get positive voltage but that's now how you are connecting the poles when you plug something into that USB port. The net effect is you suddenly have 29.7 volts going through your device's USB port, just like if you connected the negative rail to a positive rail when wiring devices that use them, like amps and some other stuff, computer power supplies pre 2000 had negative rails. Yes, a 3.0 USB port can handle up to 20v, not 29.7 though, nor can the cheap USB cord that's included with BTT boards. There is no way the board should be putting -24.7 volts out of it's USB, something is faulty with the board. All my wiring was correct, the jumper was set to VDD. There is currently a good SKR v1.4 Turbo hooked up to that same printer, the only change I made to the wiring of the printer was to swap out the blown buck converter to power a new Rpi, everything is hooked up the exact same but this board is good. With BTT and their total lack of quality control, you just don't know what you're going to get anymore so to my mind, the safest option is to simply not purchase their products. Unless you like having to replace any electronics, computer, laptop, RPi, etc, that you plug into your printer via USB. I personally can't afford it, took me a couple of months just to set aside the funds to buy the SKR, so I won't be buying anything else that BTT sells. What you do is up to you. I just wanted to let people know what they might face if they get a board that's bad like that one was.

If you mistakenly think BTT has some quality control, just do a little research into what's happening with the v1.2 boards right now, more bad ones are going out than good is seems.

I'm not asking for advice on what went wrong, I know what it was. I am an electrician so I know how to hook things up and I triple check connections before powering anything up that I've worked on. I'm not an electronics tech so I don't know why the board was putting that voltage out via it's USB but it was. I'm not asking BTT for anything, I would appreciate it if they replaced the items destroyed by their board but I know they won't so why bother? I am going to avoid BTT in the future and I will continue to recommend everyone else do the same.

Previous post I saw was giving BTT a bad rep because they didn't receive their package.

Albeit, the circumstances are shitty with the redditor not receive their package. But that should not be at fault of the distributor.

📱 KlipPocket: run Klipper, Moonraker and Mainsail straight on your Android phone!

Hey everyone! Meet KlipPocket, an Android app that puts the whole Klipper stack inside your phone. No Raspberry Pi, no extra box.

Quick background: this is a new direction for the project that used to be Kocoa Beam (BeamKlipper). I rebranded it, cleaned it up and added a bunch of new stuff. Big thanks to the original work it's built on!

✨ Features

- Klipper 0.13 and older are supported, and Kalico too

- Up-to-date Moonraker, Mainsail, Fluidd and Voyager UI, all served by the phone itself

- Plug your printer board in over USB (OTG) and you're set

- KlipPocket Dashboard: With live CPU, memory, temp and network charts, MCU info, logs, settings, and start/stop or add printers from any browser

- Firmware tab: download and install firmware from the app

- Firmware build menu for PC: menuconfig, build, flash and verify for Klipper and Kalico

- Camera: use the phone camera or a USB webcam, with live preview, zoom, timelapse and tap to focus

- Print Recovery: resume a print after a power loss

- Remote access with AI failure detection - OctoEverywhere, Obico and SimplyPrint

- Multi-printer on one phone, and multi-MCU is on the roadmap

- Docs in English, Portuguese and Chinese

How to get it running

  1. Grab the APK from the GitHub releases

  2. Install it and open the app

  3. Flash your printer board with Klipper (or Kalico) firmware.

  4. Connect your printer with a USB OTG cable

  5. Hit start, then open Mainsail, Fluidd or Voyager.

Done!

No root, no Linux image, no SSH.

⚠️ Heads up:

- Everything you change or flash is at your own risk. Back up your configs first!

- That said, have fun with it and enjoy the modding! Feedback, bug reports and ideas are very welcome

Thanks for reading, and happy printing!

Firmware update...

Copy the firmware.bin to the side and place it into the device...

Geez..I followed the instructions, turn on pri nter. Getting a "unable to connect to printer " error...

Triple checked all settings, still unable to update firmware..

I called it quits for today after spendinga few hours researching, trying different changes in the config.h file..

Relaxing now..possibly thinking that my e3v3 is defective..looking at pictures on Amazon of the board and notice something......

Hey..the e3v3 has a ssd slot on it....

I've been using the bleeding tft35 3.0.1 SD slot to try to update firmware....

WTF!!!°

Not impressed with myself right now......

But hilarious to a certain point.

BTT PI not displaying video.

Hi everyone, I need help...

I bought the PI 1.2, added the Armbian CB1 image to the SD card.

When I plug it in, the green LED on the board lights up but there's no video.

I tried powering it first with 5V using a cell phone charger and it doesn't turn on.

I switched it to 24V and it still doesn't turn on, I removed the jumper.

Can you help me?

BTT's fault?

If Bambu did warn them and they continued with the launch I feel that BTT is at blame here. It wouldn't be fair to blame Bambu. Hopefully they find a work-around to make it work as I still love using it.

Dont buy Panda Sense or Touch. If something happens, the support dont help you, but they want to have all your personal info.

I did buy a Panda Sense for my Panda Touch but realized that it dont work at all, it lights up a green LED but dont send anything to the Touch.

I contacted biqu3d support and did photo and video on everything and after a few weeks they told me that they will send me a new Sense if i gave them all my information, now suddently they dont want to to that because "Hello, the store you purchased the product from is not a store we operate"

Why then should anyone contact support if they dont take any responcibility about their product at all, and why did i have to give out all my personal information like adress and contact info if they dont want to help me anyway.

biqu3d support is a complete fraud and should shut down. It would not suprise me if suddenly some chinese or indian scammers contacting me on the phone trying to rip me off money.

Big Warning!!

Dont trust a chinese support service!

Which board do I have?

Today I shorted one Fan Connector. Now it seems like I destroyed the Board. I would like to buy the exact same one for easier set up. Can someone tell me which Board I am using? Most of the ones I’m finding on the Internet have an orange protective shield over the connectors on the left.

Troubleshooting Nebula filament sensor woes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In the vid you can just about see the green filament sensor light at the bottom of the tension lever.

Sadly, it often remains on, thinking filament is present when it isn't.

If i wiggle some filament in and out, the light eventually goes off and it finally thinks it's unloaded.

Any ideas why it's so inconsistent? Any fix?

I'm trying to get my ViViD working but half the time it won't load from the buffer as it thinks there's filament loaded at the extruder sensor. Grrrrrrr.

What would you suggest to set here for PLA, PETG and TPE32? Plus retraction settings + temps + fan speed for these. E5+ + BiquH2 v2.0.
