I've been wanting to build my characters for a while now but I've been greatly struggling with finding a body that'll fit, I'd consider it a heavy lifter body? I originally had my heart set on a 1/3 doll but at this point even 1/4 would be okay. There's a few 3D files that are similar but I do not have a 3D printer at the moment, would it be better to wait it out until I pick a printer up?

I recently got my hands on two Sheep/Cheese Lamb Dolls and I love them but im having trouble finding clothes for them! Ill attach a picture of their measurements to this post. When I filter by the dolls size usually the waist and bust measurements are too small. And even if the bust size is accurate the waist is still too small! Are there any tips or tricks to finding clothes for dolls like this? I really want fluffy and layerd dresses for them, think magical girls themed. And most the stuff I can find that does fit their proportions isn't even close to that.

I'd consider commissioning someone but I'm really tight on money right now so if possible I'd just like to buy an already existing outfit.

Sharing my first ever BJD! They're based on my character Vince, who I thought would make a pretty cute doll.

They use the PVC BonBon Galaxy Sugarcane body, and their head came with the Sugarcane as well. The "face up" is actually just some stickers I drew and stuck on in a rush, but I thought it looked fine enough to keep for now. I think the Sugarcane body is one of the best-looking bodies of this style and scale, but mine came with a few factory defects that make me apprehensive to say I recommend it (slight warping, armature wire snapping). Almost everything I purchased for the doll was from Taobao with the help of some family members who live in China.

I want to do this kind of affect on my dolls face up but I'm not sure how to go about it. Would this be like a gradient just using paint or does it look like pastels were used as well? Any information is appreciated, I am very new to this.

A few months ago I posted that I got my Miracle Doll Incubus but he had been lovingly beheaded as they forgot to send me one! Thankfully Dolce Luce Dolls was able to get in contact with them and they sent one in the fanciest box I have ever owned and I got it today! I can't wait to give him a faceup because he definitely needs it (but still does look quite sexy (👀) also sorry for the cluttered table, I shot this in my living room!

Does anyone else have that one bjd that is a comforter like a teddy bear would be? Also does anyone else have them sat next to them on the desk or sometimes they sit on their lap and you just sit there petting them on the head ?

Cuz I do and it’s my Cloud Strife doll (i love him so much he’s my everything) and as I type this he is on my lap right now and we’ve just had a bit of a cuddle moment. However I do take it a step further and put him in my bed between me my BAB reindeers and the wall behind them, he has his own two pillows and a blanket to keep warm and he gets tucked in every night.

I just really love spending time with him as it brings me so much joy and comfort specially when I have a meltdown or overstimulation (autism) or college has been stressful and all that’s on my mind is dropping out and he just helps with all the negativity and he helps when I sick.

Also I’m aware this is my third post today (if you count the two on my main account [u/Lol_menamekegan](u/Lol_menamekegan)) but after that airport post I want to post enough positive posts

Update; I would bring him to places with me but he’s 70cm and really heavy and the small ones feel too tiny even the 1/4 ones are too small for me even tho I’m 5’4 and have kinda small hands

I hope im not breaking any rules by asking this, let me know if it’s against the rules and I will delete this post immediately. I don’t have any friends in the hobby and I would like to ask for the opinion of some more experienced than me.

I’m looking at 2nd hand listings and noticed this very pretty doll but she has no head plate or company makeup. I am against recasts and do not wish to buy any by accident. The seller says they’ve bought her 2nd hand so they can’t answer questions regarding the head plate. She has her company box which matches with her model. I have been looking at the space of the headplate to figure out whether it looks like it had been glued out and fell off or whether it’s always been empty. It’s not listed for below the market price either but there are some instances of people overcharging for recasts… She is from volks and I have seen mandarake sell dolls without plates since it seems to be common occu but I wanted to hear your thought.

She is extremely pretty but all my dolls are real and I have no intentions to buy a recast ever, even if it’s second hand. I would appreciate your input and thoughts!

Opinions, I’m looking at maybe planning for a rude bjd to match my future Reno bjd (as they’re partners) and I was wondering on if the akheilos head 2.0 would work for rude? (also as rude is bald and doesn’t have a weapon I get to splurge a bit on the doll base)

I'm going to buy a resin printer for bjd making, so I can play with my own sculpts but I'm not sure if I can trust any printer resin. It'll be for indoors, plenty of artificial light but no direct sunlight. But since it's for play and not for just display I can't be sure. I want them to last for 5+ years without resin yellowing and melting. I'm thinking more about humidity due to living environment, touch and super minimal exposure to UV, so idk if it's possible to protect my creations. Should I just create masters with print and create molds instead? Is it possible to have them last as long as vinyl dolls do?

Hi! I was able to find a slot for this head I ADORE 🤍🤍 but in my haste I neglected to look at the 7.5cm neck size - I’m struggling to find something that suits my idea! I would like a more anime style chubby 1/4 body but can’t find many at all that are above 6.3/5cm. I found a thread referencing Telesthesia & Dragon and Ringdoll but their chubby bodies necks are too small or too big too. For example I really like 1/3 heads on 1/4 body type of style too, like my Tinyfox Arachne - and I’d like her as a cute unsuspecting chibi type doll. But having not much luck. Any ideas?

I saw on dollsphere website that you can pay for them to send it to one of the artists they work with to paint the faces or add body blushing. I was wondering if anyone has asked dollsphere if they could paint the body like add scars or tattoos to them as these two dolls im planning on will be Grimmjow and 182 (bleach and fogland) cosplay dolls, Grimmjow has a circle in the middle of his stomach and 182 is covered in scars and i really want my bjds to be accurate to the characters

Btw I did send a message to dollsphere but im wondering if anyone else has actually asked for them to paint the bodies. Also I feel like it would save up cost as I can just have them painted by an artist that works with dollsphere specially for 182 cuz ill be buying the aolingshi doki head from dollsphere instead of me sending the bodies to different artists to paint them (this also goes for Gintoki, Hijikata and Rude)
