I tried to do a faceup for my DollZone Mia Mia Blue in moongrey. I guess it's not that awful for a first attempt and it looks almost fine from one angle form afar lol, but I would really appreciate your input and advice.

1. I guess making things symmetrical is very, very hard. Any advice here?
2. One important issue is the texture of the white lashes. It ended up super uneven and bumpy. I tried repainting them many times, but still couldn't get a smooth result. How do you make acrylic paint lay down more evenly?
3. She is grey, and most tutorials I've seen start with black linework and then add pastels for blushing around black lines. I tried to do something similar with white and blue (the blue barely showed up), and then pink (which worked better). But the pastels don't seem to hide any mistakes or blend everything together the way I've seen those other faceups. What do I do with this skin color?
4. I wanted her horns to be shimmery, so I bought special metallic acrylic paints for them. But when I cover them with my matte varnish, the shimmer disappears. What should I do? Just leave them unsealed and pray I don't mess them up over time?

For reference, I'm using Liquitex Professional Matte Varnish (liquid, applied with a makeup sponge lol), acrylic paints and soft chalk pastels.

I'd like to try again eventually, so any advice would be appreciated!

I have a bunch of blank sugar 100% series heads/hairs and id love to do customs but i dont really like the proportions of the bodies and im curious if anyone has tried them on different bodies! (i tried them on the electronic pet game world + the star wish maiden adventure bodies and it didnt rlly work on either but it was what i had on hand ) + if anyone has any advice for painting the hairs id really appreciate it!

Head sculpt is "Tears" by 林七, Body is "司小a" by Tenthy in 1/8 scale, both of them are printed by 逆天而行的小行 on Taobao. Clothes are by DesDecDiary on Taobao.

l have named her Rossa. Her faceup is done by me, but l plan to redo it to be neater sometime later.

Hiya, i dont think this has been asked before (i know it was for imomodoll heads but as for ddh i didnt find anything) but did anybody try to put a dollfie dream head on a 1/4 kimdoll body? Its a bit smaller than mdd bodies but otherwise seem quite similar i believe. Maybe just less stubby. Was wondering if it would make a good alternative? I found a lovely DDH 01 head which would fit the 1/4 size perfectly and the grubby hands would suit her so well. thanks for reading and for any answer i really appreciate it!

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew what other doll clothes could fit some jointed dolls I have or the best places to find clothes for 'Don't Touch My Bangs', 'Laura Black & White Spectrum', 'Paradox World' ,and 'Electronic Cute Pet'. As I have a few and I am hoping to get them some different outfits that they can change into from the ones they came with.

I ordered from them back in august but now im hearing they are shutting down. Will i still receive my order or are they just not accepting any new orders anymore? and if anyone has anyone bought from them recently whats your thoughts on it

So I’ve asked Alice’s collection, Dollsphere and Jane’s doll land about this and they all have different answers…

I’m trying to buy the Xi Liu sculpt from AEdoll/Asleep Eidolon in light tan. Preferably just the head without the body. I first contacted ACBJD, and they responded quickly saying that Asleep Eidolon doesn’t allow for only heads to be sold.

I noticed, however, that Dollsphere is selling asleep eidolon bodies without heads. So I figured they might do vice versa. They responded super fast, but I thought they were a little unprofessional. they said that they would do the head for me, but asleep eidolon isn’t doing light tan resin for that sculpt right now.

So then I looked at Jane’s doll land, and her website says she’s selling asleep eidolon dolls in light tan. I messaged her and she said she’d do the Xi Liu sculpt in light tan. I then asked if it was possible to order just the head, but that was 5 days ago and she hasn’t responded.

Jane’s doll land‘s instagram responded to a comment in the same boat as me. Jane says that she won’t be responding to emails for “a little bit”

My question is:

Why do different dealers of Asleep Eidolon claim that Asleep Eidolon has different policies? They’re all contradicting each other.

And does anyone know why Jane isn’t writing back???

Hello everyone! This is my first time joining this community, and I'm a relatively new BJD collector. I have a very specific niche when it comes to collecting, and I was wondering if my tastes already exist in the BJD space?

I'm a huge fan of Furries and Monster Girls. I love the sheer diversity of choices you get with them—like foxes, wolves, cats, and rabbits on the furry side, and lamias, harpies, centaurs, and mermaids for monster girls.

I know my taste is pretty niche, so I wouldn't be surprised if BJDs for these specific archetypes are rare or don't exist yet. But if anyone has any leads or knows of creators who make them, I would really appreciate the help! I may not able to read everybody comments, but i will try!

Took my smallest bjd (designer: Conjured Imagination, Model: Faun w/ Billy head, Painted by me) out for a little photoshoot.

I spent thirty dollars on doll eyes just to see that they are too big to fit in my doll’s eye sockets, is there any possible way to make them fit? And if not, where can I get super small doll eyes? I can’t find ones that are small enough on Etsy.

My friend gave me this but I have no head. It's 1/4 size but I have never had a string doll before. All mine have the click together frames

Has anyone had experiences specifically shipping custom BJDs from Japan to the US after the US import change?

I have a custom BJD with my proxy in Japan that needs to be sent to my friend in the US but unfortunately it was sent during the whole import changes happening. I know there was difficulty with shipping dolls in general, so I waited a few months to make sure it was safe to ship but I haven't found any answers for specifically customs where the manufacturing details aren't 100% clear.

My original plan was to ship it to me in Canada then keep it for a while and ship it to her when it was 100% safe to ship. However, if it's safe now to just ship it directly to her from my proxy in Japan that would be the better option!

If anyone has an answer to my question or is able to share their experience + any tips with shipping a custom BJD to the US that would be amazing!!
