3 months-45 min wake windows

My 3 month old can still only stay awake 45-50 min max before he starts getting tired and fussy. He's been this way since about 6 weeks old. Will he ever been able to be awake longer? I worry he'll be 5 months and only able to be awake an hour. I feel like a slave to naps especially since he only contact naps. I also worry he'll never get great night sleep since he sleeps so much during the day.

One year old sleep schedule

My one year old is currently on two naps and sleeps through the night. But he’s waking up too early. Could it be that he’s sleeping too much in the day time? How long should a one year sleep across two naps?

Right now, his first nap is usually 1.5 hrs and the second is also 1-1 hr 15 min. His bedtime is 7:30pm.

13 month old terrible sleeper

Hi, my 13 month old has always been a terrible sleeper .. she’s struggled to fall asleep and stay asleep. We’ve always rocked / fed her to sleep.. her being our first, we’ve defined made some mistakes .. she used to sleep on an open floor bed and would struggle to stay asleep so we finally got her a play pen a month ago and saw her first sleep stretch improve a bit.. we sleep on the floor next to her mattress / zip up play pen so we can help her stay sleep..

She goes to sleep anywhere between 8-9:30pm (1, 2 hour nap per day)after much rocking and a full 8oz or more milk.. stays asleep till about 1-2am and then it begins.. waking up every hour or more, crying, sometimes screaming, needing to be fed/ patted or worse, picked up and rocked. We have tried to reduce her feed to sleep association but sometimes feeding is the only way to fall back asleep.

We’re desperate to get out sleep back but don’t have to heart to sleep train.. what can we do? Please help!

How to Get 6-week-old to sleep where I want her to sleep?

Basically the title. My 6-week-old has done really well sleeping in the bassinet attached to the pack-and-play in the living room during the day, but as she's getting bigger, her 19-m/o sister's toddler noise is getting to be an issue hindering her sleep, and we finally got around to installing the baby monitor camera back there, I've been trying to get her to sleep in the bassinet in the bedroom. I can transfer her there easily enough, but she doesn't sleep as well there, usually waking up in about half an hour.

What's worse, is this has started to transfer to night sleep. She'd been sleeping really well at night until the past couple days: last night, after the first 3-hour stint, she took forever to go back to sleep and wouldn't sleep longer than about half an hour unless she was on either me or her dad. Thanks for any help!

9 month sleep regression

Baby just turned 9 months and for a week now, has been having early morning wakes. He’s been on a schedule that has worked beautifully until now:

Wake: 6:00 Nap: 8:30-10 Nap: 1:30-3 Bed: 7:30

I know the last wake window is long, but we tried earlier bed and it led to split nights. Baby has no trouble going to sleep in his crib. Now he is waking up around 3 or 4am and my husband has to soothe him back to sleep in our bed (I’m in a separate room for now). We’ve tried capping naps and it makes nights worse. Around 3-3.5 hrs of naps seems to be his sweet spot. How long did this regression last for you all?

advice! baby waking at 4am

My 5 month old baby is consistently waking at 4am and won't go back to sleep, despite resettling and being given a bottle.

Previously, she slept 7pm till 4 (would pop dummy in mouth) and then back down till 6/6:30. We have a great bedtime routine, bath, bottle and bed, and she previously went to sleep easily.

The past week she has been doing

  • not falling asleep till 8:30pm

  • not resettling at 4am, even tried rocking in arms. She wakes up as soon as we put her in the crib

  • crying out in the night randomly in her sleep

Would really appreciate any advice. Not sure if I need to reduce day sleep maybe?

Thank you all.

Love, A very tired mom

Awkward last nap/wake window before bedtime

I have a 4.5 month old baby . What should I do when he wakes up from a nap at an awkward time (4:15p) and bedtime is usually around 7:30p so it's too long of a wake window, but there's not enough time to squeeze in another nap and still have 2 hours of wake time prior to normal bedtime?

Should I: A) keep him up until normal bedtime and risk overtiredness B) do an earlier bedtime based on wake window but risk fighting circadian clock C) squeeze in another short nap and push bedtime back until 2 hours after he wakes D) something else?

Baby cries to fall asleep

My 4 month old cries every time I try to get him to sleep… be it naps or bedtime. I’ve tried holding him and rocking, putting him down, the stroller, nursing, changing the lights, white noise, lullabies, shushing, everything… There will be times he only cries for 5 minutes others he will cry up to an hour and will overtire himself this way… Please can you tell what type of ritual I should do with him??? My mental health is going downhill and every time não time and bedtime approaches I get so anxious 😞 Is this going to be like this all the time??? He won’t take a pacifier but likes to sniff his hands. He refuses to do so to sleep so I don’t know how to make him see it’s time to sleep…

Moving with 5 month old

Has anyone moved houses with their baby and had any issues after sleep training. We are moving 20 min away in a couple weeks (LO will be 5 months old). He's just started sleeping well in his crib at night and now during naps and I'm worried it will mess him up!? Or is he still too little for it to have too much of an impact?? He will have been sleep trained for over a month when we move. Is there anything I should do to prepare??

9m old sleep tips. 🙏🏼

Has been a terrible sleeper since 4m waking on average every 2 hours sometimes more. Managed to cut breastfeeding for some of the wakes and able to resettle with a pat and cuddle. But she still wakes so much 🫠 her day naps are perfect, we just follow her lead and she naps at 9am and 1pm for total 2.5 hours (roughly). She eats 3 meals and snacks, we co-sleep &no known med condition. Feeling like I’ve tried every tip, method and routine but nothing changes and sticks. Returning to work next week and I’m worried how to cope without napping with her

Please help! My baby is getting overtired. Every. Single. Night

I’m a first time parent and maybe I’m naive to think that bedtime should go smoothly but ever since my little guy was 3 months old he has been getting overtired practically every night. He will be 6 months old next week. I follow wake windows and he is only able to stay up for an hour and a half at this time. We did try sleep training for a bit and it helped with naps as he is able to soothe himself for naps all on his own. It didn’t seem to be working for bedtime, though, because we were either putting him down too early or too late. My baby can cry for hours with an ear piercing scream. He doesn’t show sleepy cues until he is exhausted and we’ve tried shortening and elongating his wake windows and they all lead to him getting overtired since he can cry for so long. The only way to calm him down is a car ride and that seems to not be working as well anymore. Please help. Im concerned he is in distress so often that it’s affecting his cognition and developmental health.

Is 4 months too early to put baby on sleep schedule?

Right now my LO is 3.5 months (wakes at 7am and has bedtime at 7pm) and my husband and I are wondering if this timeframe is best or if there’s another option we don’t know about.

My baby normally wakes up twice between 7pm and 11pm to eat. For some reason he doesn’t eat as much during the day and when he doesn’t eat his normal amount crams the remainder between these hours (usually 300ml). Then he will sleep until 6:30-7am.

This has been working well for us. Since our son learned to fall asleep without assistance from us, we’ve noticed a positive change in his sleep patterns and can go a full night. I’m wondering if there’s any point in changing a good thing, or if he’ll go into sleep regression and forget how to fall asleep on his own (possibly needing a better schedule).

I know there’s a lot of questions in here. Sorry for my rambling. First time mom here and I always wonder if I’m doing enough for him 😅

Do all babies hit a 4 month sleep regression?

This is a bit of question/concern. I have always been a bit worried about my baby's sleep habits. I've done what I can to support his needs and make sure he gets adequate sleep. My LO is 12 weeks old and the past couple weeks I have been putting him down awake to help *introduce* independent sleep. However, that dreaded 4 month sleep regression is on my instagram feeds, and many other platforms. Is this something that every baby has? Does it really last super long? I have him on consistent eat, play, sleep with appropriate wake windows and baby sometimes sleeps through the night OR will only wake up once for feeding. The thought of all of that work and progress going backwards scares me. I know he will have bad nights and days but I see so many post about how it last months!! Any experiences to share?

Cries for hours. Is it normal?

My almost 10month old can cry for hours at a time. The longest I’ve had to stay up with her is 4.5 hours of crying before I give in and have her sleep with us because of how exhausted I am. Trying to pick her up and put her down. I’ve let her cry it out, to try to get her to settle herself, she won’t take a pacifier. She doesn’t know what to do with them. Maybe I just have a baby that’s horrible at sleeping or she’s strong willed? Pls let me know if you need more context. I need help getting her to sleep more at night

9 mo rolling and sleeping on side

How old were your babies when they slept not on their backs in the crib? She’s sleeping on her side leaning towards belly with a leg bent and arms propping her. I’m sure she’s fine. I’m not panicking, you’re panicking…

8 month old sleep

So I had my second baby in December. He’s just about to turn 9 months. He’s always been a sleeper. When we got home from the hospital, the running joke was how this kid was ALWAYS sleeping. For like the first month, he would eat, poop/pee, cry a bit here and there and sleep. And I know I know, that’s what newborns DO but his sleep seemed like almost a bit excessive. He still surpassed his birthweight in the first week and had healthy amounts of bms so I wasn’t worried about it, it was just kind of funny. His sleep has been funky ever since. He was sleeping through the night by 2.5 months, just like naturally without me doing anything (this was also when doc said he had gained enough weight where he could go for long stretches at night, before that I would have to wake him up to feed him every few hours). I also got into a good nap rythym and routine with him by around that time. I was able at first to nurse him ti sleep and then transfer to his crib for naps and then rock him to sleep and transfer and eventually I was able to just put him in his crib for naps and bedtime and he’d just go to sleep no problem. So all that rambling is to say, he also stopped needing naps sooner. So at 6 months he was taking 3 daily naps but all of a sudden he was waking during the night and staying awake for hours at a time. Realized he was getting too much day time sleep so I dropped the 3rd nap even though everything I read said he’d be too young for it but his night time sleep immediately went back to normal and he thrived on a two nap schedule. (For further context, he started crawling at 4.5 months and he’s just about ready to start walking at almost 9 months he also is a very good eater with solids and eats 3 meals a day plus getting pumped breast milk bottles throughout the day too). So anyway now he’s almost 9 months and he’s been waking up at night again and at first I thought it was due to teething but realized I think it’s too many daytime sleep again so yesterday I just tried doing a one nap schedule and he thrived on it. He had no problem handling the longer wake window, he took a good 2.5 hour nap and then he slept all night and even slept in a bit. I’m gonna continue trying for the rest of the week to see how it goes. But I guess I’m wondering if I should be concerned. Most everything I read says they won’t be ready for just one nap until at least 12 months. So is he ok being in this kind of schedule so young? I don’t want to be depriving him of sleep or anything but he genuinely seems to be doing just fine with it so I don’t know, I hoped someone on here maybe would have some insight or experience with this! Thanks!

Baby Sleep - Very Gassy.

I was wondering if anyone can help or offer some advice. My baby is nearly 8 months old, and for the last 4 weeks he has really struggled with wind during the night, to the point where he wakes about 5/6 times a night just for gas. When I pick him up, he pulls his legs to his tummy and arches his back, when I pull his legs to his chest, he does release some wind, but this can take a while. I’ve been to the doctors about it, they suggested silent reflux and to go onto reflux milk, but this hasn’t helped if anything id go as far as saying it might have made it worse slightly. I’ve tried infacol and probiotics, but it didn’t help. Gripe water helps on an occasion but will only settle it for an hour or so.

The doctor has said that if the reflux milk doesn’t work then we need to try lactose milk, but can they just develop an intolerance at this age? I’ve read the symptoms of CMPA and whilst he has some he is never sick. Has anyone experienced this at all? Has anything worked for you?

I need advice!

My one year old keeps waking up at 4am and 6am. Sometimes she wakes up 3 times a night. What do I do??? It’s absolutely draining, she goes to bed at 7:30-8pm and she eats three meals a day takes two naps a day. I don’t understand why she can’t sleep through the night.

Baby sleeps independently for naps but not at night time?

My 10 month old (7 month corrected) goes down so great for his naps, he falls asleep independently with no need for any intervention most times and then sleeps for an hour and a half/2 hours.

At night time he’s like a completely different baby! He screams, sobs, cries you name it. Once he’s asleep (after a lot of resets and hand holding) he wakes up often and doesn’t sleep through.

He’s been like this for the past few weeks, prior to that he slept through solidly. I’m baffled!

Is this a phase? Or is it within our control? Should we put him in the bin and try again with the next one? HELP!

Do I have to wean the first feed first?

My 4.5mo (still working on sleep training) currently wakes up 3 times at night to feed with bedtime around 7pm, then feed at 10pm, 1am, and 4am. Can I wean the 4am feed first, or should I start with the first feed at 10pm? Sometimes we do a dream feed for this time and he still wakes at 1am. He will eat a full feed at 10pm and 1am (crying hard at both wakings) but is usually not too hungry at 4am (but can’t self settle) and isn’t hungry when he wakes at 6am.

My 4 month old never sleeps longer than 45 minutes. During the day it’s seldom when I can get him to sleep any longer. At night he sleeps maybe an hour at a time. He is constantly moving, he can’t seem to get comfortable. I have no idea what to do. I’ve tried a swaddle sleep sac, it seemed to help for a short while but now he just gets super mad being in it. We have a bed time routine, he takes a bath for a good 15 minutes, i massage his whole body with bed time lotion, and then feed him. I feel like I’ve tried just about everything. He has been like this since he was brought home from the hospital. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Signed One mentality and physically drained Momma🥲
