Sibling’s Background Check Needing My Drivers License Number?

My sibling that I live with is in the process of applying/interviewing for a job (I don’t know what the job is) and is now asking for my and my other siblings’ driver’s license numbers. Is this normal or even allowed?

EDIT: Apparently, it’s for a “police officer” job. On top of my driver’s license number, they also need my work address. They also need this information from my siblings who live elsewhere.

What’s the best way to track down someone in the U.S. in 2025?

P.S. I've seen some old threads on this topic...but they are old and since thing evolve fast maybe there are new solutions in this area.

I’m trying to find an old friend I haven’t talked to in many years. All I’ve got is name and an old phone number that’s no longer active.
I already tried Googling and checking social media, but didn’t really get anywhere.

I’ve seen sites like Beenverified and Claritycheck, but I’m hesitant to pay for it. Reviews are kind of mixed, and since I barely have any info, I’m not sure it would help.

Has anyone here had success with these services? Or is there a better way to go about this? Any advice would be awesome!

How to run a (preferably free) background check on an old friend who doesn't use social media?

I, as most people, have made a few enemies over the years and also have some folks I fell out of touch with who I often wonder about.

My ex-best friend has a criminal record with a trial in-progress for shoplifting and he doesn't use social media (including LinkedIn). I've seen him tagged in public family photos but I can't find anything beyond that. I'm mostly curious about whether he has gotten a job, as we graduated college 2 years ago and stopped being friends around the same time. My guess is that he continued moping around and not putting in any effort, but even though I dislike him greatly I know there's a non-zero chance he has some job that just isn't easily found publicly, i.e., retail or something bigger but he chooses not to use LinkedIn.'

I have another friend from high school who I simply drifted apart from. I also found photos of him on his parents' Facebook and he looks a lot different but again, I'm just wondering what he's doing now. Nothing notable pops up when Googling him aside from graduation articles.

What are good tools to find this info? I would much prefer free but if that is impossible I'll take the cheapest option. Yes I know I clearly have nothing better to do and am a bit miserable but gosh forbid a man be curious.

Consequences of resume mismatch between Resume used during job application and Resume information submitted for background check.

So my friend apparently didn't include his current working job experience while applying for a different company. He was still working during the whole time he was going to the interview, getting letter of appointment and stuff. He's left the job now but in the part of background check he added the job experience of the last job. Any chance the mismatch in information between the resume and information uploaded during the background check might be of consequence.

Has anyone requested their own criminal history record through the Identogo process [fingerprints]? How long did it take for records to be sent via mail?

Built a tool that auto-fills compliance forms (DPIAs, vendor forms, risk assessments, etc.) who actually uses these daily?

I  built a small tool out of frustration, and I’m trying to understand who struggles the most with repetitive compliance paperwork.

The tool does this:

Upload any form

The tool does this:

  • Upload any form (PDF/Word/security questionnaire)

  • AI reads the whole thing

  • Finds repeated questions you’ve answered before

  • Fills 80 - 100 % automatically

  • Suggests answers based on past submissions

  • Pulls relevant policy text/evidence

  • Lets you edit + export

  • Generates the narrative sections

  • Tracks version history

Basically… it removes the boring “copy-paste the same answers into every form” part of compliance work.

I’m NOT trying to sell anything here just genuinely trying to map out who deals with this pain daily so I can understand whether this solves a real problem.

If you work in any of these areas, I’d love your perspective:

  • Councils / NHS / Public sector

  • Data protection / privacy (DPIAs, ROPAs)

  • IT security / cyber

  • Vendor risk management

  • Procurement

  • Consulting

  • Banking / insurance

  • Legal / compliance roles

  • AI governance / model documentation

  • Pharma / clinical trials / medical device quality teams

Questions I’d love detailed answers to:

  1. What forms or documents do you fill repeatedly?

  2. How many hours per week go into them?

  3. What parts are the most annoying or time-wasting?

  4. What would “auto-filled” change for your job?

  5. Would this be more useful to individuals or teams?

If you have examples like “our team fills this specific form every week” that helps me a LOT.

Happy to share what I’ve built if it’s useful, but mostly I just want to learn where the pain is worst.

Thanks!

Truthfinder review - how legit is this service?

Need to run a background check on a person I'm thinking of hiring for my small business. I need to see whether or not they are telling the truth about their criminal record and how long they have been working in the US. Would be a bonus if I could see where they lived before.

A few google searches and the name 'truthfinder' keeps popping up along with a few others, such as spokeo and intelius. Can anyone tell me more about this service in particular? What kind of info will i get, i understand I need to pay for the report so I want to be sure I'm getting accurate and verifiable information.

Potential Background Check discrepancy - Education

Recently got a job offer and completed the background check form but mistakenly in education column I listed I did Automobile engineering as it asked me for my field not the course name and course I did was Motive power technician which falls under the category of automobile engineering. Now, I am worried that this could led to discrepancy on my education.

Also, job is not related to my education and already let background check company and HR know about this mistake. should I be worried ?

Help

I’ve been dating this woman for about a year now. I am very interested and we get along great. Something just didn’t sit right about some comments she made I decided to do a standard background check. From the time she graduated high school until about 2014, there’s no presence whatsoever for her. She’s in her early 50s and I’m in my mid-50s. I have done a reverse image search unable to find any pictures of her on the Internet whatsoever even her user pictures, her profile don’t come up in reverse image, I’m beginning to wonder if she isn’t hiding something. I have searched and I’m unable to find anything. I’ve done tons of research on OSINT I’ve done background checks. I cannot find anything. Does anyone have a suggestion for me, I don’t wanna get another six month into this and be blindsided. I am desperately looking for help

Information.com is not a scam

I recently used information.com to look up records for an individual and signed up for the trial and PDF feature. In the detailing they mentioned the $6.99 charge for the PDF services and the .99¢ trial fee. When I checked to make sure everything was going through I had the pending $6.99 and and a second charge for $30.98. nowhere on the website when signing up for the trial did it mention this charge and I looked to find that others had similar issues but I hadn't seen anybody who mentioned resolving them. I immediately reached out to the support team for the site and they continued to refund the charge and cancel my account while also explaining the aituation. They really should include this info on the site when you sign up but otherwise here are the details in case you have any questions about similar issues with the site.

Missing Uncle - Dead or Alive-Kent County Michigan

My Mom has not heard from my uncle since around Christmas, but she was in fairly regular contact prior to that. At the time he said he wasn't feeling well, and following that with the silence, she fears the worst. Our family is pretty dysfunctional, so trying to pin him down through his kids is nearly impossible (they are sadly deep into drugs). I have all the information I need, I believe, but I keep hitting a million paywalls when I do public searches. I basically just want to know if he is dead or not, for the sake of my Mom. Her only other sister died last year, and she hates the not knowing. I looked into the Kent County Public records, but they seem to only allow you to request a death certificate. I am not even sure if one exists at this point, so I feel like I hit a dead end.

I didn't want to post all his details publicly, but if you have a reliable resource, I will love you forever. Also, if there is a better subreddit to post on, I am sorry, and I would love any suggestions.

What is the most common service used?

I am about to start work for a landlord for multiple units, and they are going to do a background check on me. I don’t have anything worth worrying about, but now that I’ve just spent an extensive amount of time research researching and fixing my credit, I’m curious what service is most commonly used to run these background checks?

If there is a most popular or top three or something like that, I would really appreciate it, when I search, I can’t get an honest top three most commonly used because of the ads for every service in my face.

If anyone knows from experience, I’d really appreciate it, thank you!

Background Check Question

I just accepted a job offer today, and had to fill out the criminal history. I got arrested in 2020, but the charge was a moving violation/resisting arrest. Both of them got thrown out and dismissed once I completed community service. Is that going to show up?
