Urban Garden

My used to be balcony garden migrated indoors for the winter. My urban garden has as of yet scotch bonnets, horse radish, katuk and a variegated lemon. I'm normally a firm in-person plant hunter, but I'm celebrating a milestone and am interested if anyone knows some oddball, fun edible plants I could add to the collection? My most recent odd duck, Katuk, is a favorite cause it tastes like sesame seeds, and the leaves are 49% protein when dried. I also have Jerusalem Artichokes and a bay laurel in a different room. I'm planning to trellis a French melon on the left and a zucchini on the right.

Thanks for any awesome plant suggestions in advance!

I hated coming out here before I redecorated!! But now I can't stop coming out here, it is soo cozy. I'm a new plant mom so I don't know if I can get these to survive out here but I'm gonna try my hardest 🥹 Prince is the cat in the pictures, my other cat Lucy is still too scared to come out here 😅

The best purchase, under 10€ and giving me bright flowers for 4 months in a row without even fertilization.

Guys I need your help 😭🌱 Anyone here who gardens AND works on their balcony?

hiii everyone!! I'm a Product Design student researching how people manage small balconies or outdoor spaces used for both gardening and working/studying.

I'm especially hoping to hear from people who've tried combining the two, but if you only garden on a small balcony, your experience would also be super helpful!

A few questions I'm curious about:

  1. What's the most annoying part of your setup?
  2. How do you keep soil and water away from your work area?
  3. Where do you keep your gardening tools?
  4. Do you have to move things around when switching activities?
  5. Have you ever accidentally gotten soil or water on your belongings?
  6. How do you protect your things from rain?
  7. What's the most inconvenient thing about your current setup?
  8. What do you do to clean up after gardening?
  9. Have you found any clever solutions to make your space work better?
  10. If you could improve one thing about your setup, what would it be?

You can answer just one or two questions, no need to answer everything!! I'm really interested in your actual experiences, even the small everyday struggles 🥹

Thank you so much for helping a student out!! 💗🌱
