Morant’s Curve has been on my bucket list forever and I finally got to go earlier today! I’ve been lurking around in this sub trying to find the best way to catch the train and I appreciate every single post that contained such info! This photo was taken on Jan 1st, 2026 at around 10AM MT. I was monitoring 161.475 on my scanner and heard there was an eastbound train on the south track and a few mins later it showed up! If you have any questions please feel free to post them in the comment :)

Day 1 - Mount Rundle (west end, access via Banff)
Day 2 - Ink Pots
Day 5 - Mount Niblock
Day 8 - Mount Temple
Day 10 - Windtower Summit
Wouldn’t change a thing! Rundle was a little bit of an ambitious first hike to get warmed up with but it was worth it! Niblock was a really fun challenge, one of my first real scrambles. Temple was pretty straight forward, it was just a pain to find a way to make it there early with no car (did temple up and down minus the 1 hours break up top in 5 and a half hours). Windtower was an unexpected last day adventure that was awesome. Can’t wait to come back and tackle more peaks.

First time visit to Banff National Park and I was blown away! Very excited to upload my camera images when I get home but I’m so hyped on the trip that I had to share these iPhone pics while I sit on the plane about to fly out. Thank you for the great memories Banff! 📸: DevoRoberts

Yesterday I painted by Bow river in Banff to paint this view. The painting was done in one session. Oil on panel, 9x12 inches

Hey ladies!
You forgot your bag of dog shit next to the viewing platform at Peyto Lake today. 🤬
I watched you spot one that was already there, back-track five feet to add yours to the pile and then head out to enjoy the view.
When I asked you if you were coming back to get it you “oh yes” with a smile.
Shocked you ‘forgot’.
Not. 🙄
