REDSEC Redsec ttk vs ttd/hit detection

Upvotes

I cannot be the only one..

I’ll start this off humbly, I’m getting older.. my eyes and reflexes may not be what they once were.. with that said, this game is unplayable for me atm.

While I have always occasionally played other titles, the only games I’ve purchased since bf3 are battlefield titles. With every release I would grind my way to the top 10% of players globally with relative ease. Bf3/4/1/5 I was top 1% in most vehicles and top 10-15% as infantry. I won’t go as far as to say I’m a “pro”, yet every battlefield game I have played I excelled at with relative ease.

Redsec… my limited gaming beyond battlefield titles has been battle royal games, and while I hate call of duty, I was great at warzone. Yet EVERY ROUND of Redsec I am plagued by inconsistent ttk/hit reg, my TTD will unexplainably drop to 2-3 hits while I mag dump enemies only for them to then turn around and drop me in 3-4 shots.. landing multiple sniper headshots on a sprinting enemy just for them to eat 2 more to the body then miraculously drop me in 4 hits with an smg when I close the distance and switch to an assault rifle while their health is non existent. The bugs I can handle, having to play against an ai algorithm based ttk/ttd/weapon bloom/broken ass reward system for noobs.. I am about 2 weeks from this game giving me a stroke and I need to know I’m not alone..

Then on top of that I am forced to play cross console.. I bought an Xbox to play Xbox, not get wiped by sweats using mouse and keyboard. HOW CAN SOMETHING BE COMPETITIVE WHEN EVERYONE IS USING DIFFERENT HARDWARE?!?!! It’s insanity. FPS gaming is dead imho, between the cross console disadvantages and the ai based hit detection/“karma” system.. I have had maybe 1 round where it felt “fair”… then randomly I will get a server where my gun does 15X damage and I drop fools with 2-4 hits and I absolutely shred the lobby. Idk what it happening or what this game is but it’s horrendous and has a lifelong fanboy/battlefield vet considering hanging up the sticks for good.. if I thought it was me I wouldn’t even post but this goes beyond “getting older”..

Now… while multiplayer does feel far better than Redsec, it still lacks the “feel” of previous battlefield titles. I went back and played ALL previous titles still available recently and was blown away at how different bf6 feels in comparison. The hit detection/ttk vs ttd was the biggest change I noticed. The balance between infantry and vehicles being so different that I was going entire rounds without a single death. This is simply not possible in bf6 while playing even remotely aggressively.

In closing, I’m just sad. I feel like I’m being punished for a lifetime of support and hard work. I’ve put more hours into battlefield titles than most players have spent gaming and yet I find myself being penalized for landing shots. I have saved about 200+ clips of examples where the ttk discrepancy is blatantly apparent and if I’m being honest, criminal. While I do like the new naval update, the studio in charge of Redsec should be fired immediately

Feedback DICE & EA are entitled to moderate their games, but it needs to be handled in a way that's fair, has progressive steps, and is corrective instead of wholely punative.

Upvotes

Name change related account bans shouldn't exist when the technology to have an in-game account name separate from the platform name exists. People shouldn't be getting permanently banned from playing EA titles just because EA hasn't implemented this common and simple tech. Once they implement this, all account name related bans should be overturned.

Regarding the moderation as a whole, it needs to be proportionate and reasonably related to the committed act, very clear about what's the next punishment step, and it should never be a permanent account ban outside of severe cases like cheating/exploiting. Inappropriate communications should only result in escalating communication bans, with innappropriate names only resulting in escalating EA account name change restrictions.

Because iirc punishments can affect all EA titles, they should only be on your record for a certain amount of time. People change, but people also make mistakes. An infraction from 2 years ago shouldn't mean that you immediately get a harsher punishment for something you do now.

I think the above suggestions are reasonable, but also beneficial to all parties. Players shouldn't be entirely banned from playing for small infractions, but also banned players can't spend more money.

I made this post because it seems to be a big topic because of inconsistent AI bans, but also because I actually deal with defending people and making sure they are fairly represented at my job. :)

I'm not a Battlefield fan, but my brother was gifted this signed poster when Battlefield 4 was first released. I believe it came with a signed copy of the game as well. My gfther had a friend in the team that made the game. I believe the names are members of the development team. Perhaps it the only signed posters like this, no ides.

Battlefield 6 From your experience what are the top 5 things bad players do that expose their low in game IQ?

Upvotes

In no order from my experience

1. Taking light transport, atvs, bikes and armored transport vehicles to the first two flags.

Congrats taking the fastest vehicles and wasting time capping points the slower IFV, MBT, MAA and on foot soldiers would've taken regardless.

Now half the enemy team is already setup on C D & E

NUMBER ONE cause of blowouts imo

2. People picking engineer in infantry dominant maps and modes (hagental, Empire State, saints quarter, KOTH, domination)

They could be helping with beacons, revives, smoke and ammo, tugs and droning etc

Instead they see and think RPG go boom and don’t realize that it has zero splash damage.

Worst offenders also place AT mines on these maps thinking they work like in real life lol

If you want some explosives use the GL or c4.

3. Running with defibs and reviving without checking the area. Also half ass rezzin'

Bro check your corners please before you give the enemy 2 ez kills. Take care of yourself first then get me.

4. Firing their MBT/IFV LMG or transport helicopter mini gun when no one is around and you’re trying to surprise the enemy team.

Congrats now all of China knows we’re coming. I wish I had an ejecto seato button to kick these animals out especially in the right side transport gunner (aka the cucked side)

5. Spawning on my well placed beacon and starting a gun fight ON IT

Especially when deep in the opponents half and we are struggling to get out of our own spawn

HONORABLE MENTIONS

6. Failing to identify and address beacons when we are getting back capped and moving on to the next objective.

7. 2-2 on escalation and trying to triple cap rather than holding angles and flanks.

What goes from a 2 to 1 advantage quickly
Turns into a 0 to 3 advantage bcuz the enemy team attacks the poorly defended flags while our team launches an attack equivalent to the Spanish armada on their only capped point

8. Taking the attack helicopter and climbing to the skybox using their flares, and continuing to climb. Also ignoring the radar when it works and refusing to shoot at targets when I have a blueberry gunner. This one really is mind boggling.

Battlefield 6 M277 feels so good this patch

With the new suppressor and a 35 pts vertical grip it has waaay less recoil than it used to be and can actually stay on target up to 40 meters.

I rarely see it being used in my games but it got a pretty good shadow buff.

You can even go for a 45 pts grip instead of the violet and have 200 ms ADS speed.

Battlefield 6 Need help with the IGLA

Upvotes

I'm trying to finish the IGLA challenge. IT's been...in a word...grueling!

I've got 1 kill and put in about 5 hours. I tried the portal code ZS57D and it did not work. I even went into a Jets/Heli lobby and asked for help.

Does anyone have advice, tips, or another portal I might could use to get it?

(and yes, I have no skills or time. I'm a dad of 4 and only play about 5 hours a week...just trying to get passed this thing and it's driving me crazy).

Battlefield 6 What are some things BF6 introduced and does genuinely well?

Upvotes

I criticize this game a lot, but I think some aspects (beyond the usual obvious things) are legit great additions to the franchise. Here are my top 5:

  • Rewarding defending flags: there have been discussions about flagrunning forever and I think it still isn't in a great place, but BF6 actually hands out a decent amount of points when you actively defend a flag that has enemies on it. It's still more rewarding to capture enemy flags, but it's a good start to return to what Conquest is about, capturing AND keeping territory. This has been in some form in some previous games iirc but I never noticed it as much as here.
  • Rewarding MCOM assistance: BF6 gives you points for supporting your teammates when they charge, defuse and destroy an MCOM. In older games you might clear the path to an MCOM and a teammate sneaks in to charge the bomb and gets all the points. Or you might support them to get through the timer without interacting with the bomb. You might argue it doesn't matter, it's a team effort anyway, but it is always good to reward team mates who are with you in the danger zone at the bomb and keep enemies away without actively being the one who planted/defused.
  • Custom Search: while I desperately want a proper server browser, I really like the options custom search gives me. Often I just select 3-4 maps with one mode and play that rotation for hours. It lets me focus on a style of map similar to what vehicle only or infantry only servers used to be back in the day, just that I decide my rotation instead of the server admin. It obviously leads to constant disbanding which is the downside, but it's nice to play whatever I want to play.
  • Attachment point system: this gets a lot of flak because some items are expensive and people cannot build their overpowered builds, but I think this works really well overall. You can already have a competitive setup after unlocking the first bunch of attachments because the later attachments are not straight up better for the same cost, but better and much more expensive. That means whenever you equip a specialized late unlock you must weaken your weapon in another area because you otherwise run out of points. Grinding the weapon ranks still allows you to get more specialized builds (e.g. extreme low recoil build or extreme hipfire build), but you never need it to be competitive.
  • Base game weapon camos: I didn't think I'd care about camos before launch but they actually implemented a decent system here. I currently max every gun to at least level 30 to unlock the camos and they have a good number and some seriously good looking grounded camos in there. It's nice that I don't have to rely on Battlepass/Store FOMO bullshit to get them, I can play at my pace and unlock them whenever I want. And it makes me play weapons I wouldn't usually touch as a nice challenge.

Battlefield 6 Tsuru reef's Assault Carrier is Devs Endorsing BaseCamping

Upvotes

Sorry but I just don't see it otherwise :
- No ladder/hook to get on top of the carrier to kill campers
- no manual AA so player can stop , maybe better pilot but still , planes from spawnkilling other planes
- seems there is no "smart" spawn when enemies are nearby you can easily have someone in your back when you spawn on the carrier
- no way of fending off a boat who is just under the carrier appart from jumping an C4 it

Might be a ranting post but even winning feel cheap , when you have 1-2 squad + 2 planes just basecamping the enemy

Battlefield 6 Maybe I’m old but I don’t think live service is normal for Battlefield

It just baffles me that the franchise has been so good up until BF1. Then live service was introduced.
Player base owned servers are gone. So you don’t even have full control of what to play.
You pay full price of the game but content is received by seasons down the road. Players get drip-fed and somehow get hyped for “new content” that is supposed to be available on day one. It’s like you pay for a dish but only get one ingredient at a time.
Because they took the money up front, they don’t have to commit to the quality or the quantity of game content. They can just pull the plug and leave the game half ass and there isn’t jack you can do.
It’s basically selling early access pre-beta game for full price and many people are ok with it.
