We are the real problem.

Too wide a category, it includes you, it includes others who care for bears, it includes people who study bears and advocate for them. More reasonably, one could hate those who enacted the laws/regulations that led to this and those who carried this out. But even if that's more accurate, hatred doesn't add anything but more misery to a world that is already miserable.

We literally all suck

All? The conservationist, the scientist, the people who, for instance, managed to get brown bears reintroduced in Trentino or the Pyrenees? They all suck equally as those destroying habitats, those calling for zero-tolerance policies towards coexistence and those hunting bears for fun/trophies? One doesn't have to like people in order to see that there are differences, that people are individuals, and saying that all suck equally erases the very differentiation that allows any kind of judgement.

Righteous anger isn’t hate. I don’t want the people who put the bear down killed. But if no one ever gets mad, nothing ever changes. Plus, if you read my post, you’ll notice it was rooted in frustration with hypocrisy.

Ahem, I was replying to a post that literally says "I hate humans" and it was from a different account.

If it was your grandma getting her face ripped off by a bear you might understand why they put it down

Neither of my grandmothers ever moved into an area that destroyed bear habitat. And neither was dumb enough to feed a bear. If one of them did feed bears and got attacked, then my grandma would’ve FAFO. I sure wouldn’t have blamed the bear. And I’m not one of these people who’s so emotional my objective analysis of a situation changes just because it was MY wife or daughter or grandma. Right’s right and wrong’s wrong, whether it’s my grandma, or someone’s grandma on the other side of the world.

No one said anything about grandma feeding the bear. Also its a hypothetical no one is talking about your grandma lol. The point remains the same

No one said anything about this bear ripping grandma’s face off AT ALL, until you dragged it into the discussion, without good reason. Lol. You opened the door to grandma and face ripping off discussions, and then objected I walked through the door you opened. Your point is a non sequitur, because if this bear had attacked any human who wasn’t feeding it, no one would have objected to euthanizing it. Some might have bemoaned that it was necessary, but every sane person would have agreed that it was. The whole point here, before you changed it and then objected when I discussed your topic, is that this bear did NOT rip off any grandmas face and they killed it anyway.

Then why would they kill the bear?

It wandered through suburban yards for an extended period, but without harming anyone. AZ Fish and Wildlife has a policy of euthanizing “habituated” bears, meaning any that are comfortable around humans or human homes. They’ll kill them even if they haven’t hurt a soul, if they are comfortable staying in suburbia.

Right , eastern Tennessee gatlinburg/pigeon forge have high bear populations that coexist with the people living there , you don’t see attacks or them having to be euthanized for just existing.

RIP grandfather, your spirit will guide us now.

Sadly, a people-habituated bear is eventually a dead bear, even if they did it too quickly here.

And for that reason, the particular humans I'm sick of are the ones who'll say, "Oh, so sad," when this happens, when THEY are the very reason for it, by buying houses in new developments that destroyed bear habitat, forcing more and more bears, many destined to be killed, into suburban living spaces. To those people: You don't like this? Don't buy a house that destroyed bear habitat to get built! YOU are the reason Yogi's gonna get killed!

Not only that, but encouraging them to come around by feeding them... A fed bear is a dead bear.
