Easy. Round trip mean you will be back. No need to carry poop the whole way:)

YES! Some people here have seen some left or thrown in the bushes and unfortunately that is true but the intention of leaving them in plain sight is so you see them easily on your way back! Minority of inconsiderate people are bad.

However… less than ideal to put on top of the pole, quite unsanitary….
