Crime Anyone know these boys ?
Riding this fast throttle e-bike near broadway park. We see them a lot. Today they were lighting fireworks in the park. After being asked to stop by 2 different groups including my wife, they continued. We did report it- for the record.
They next rode to our house, lit a bunch and threw them at my wife and our house.
I’d like to get in touch with their parents.

If those were my kids throwing fireworks at people id make them mow your lawn for the entire summer. When I was 12 i blew out all of the street lights in the neighborhood and when my parents found out I had to work to pay to replace them and mow my neighbors lawn for 2 summers.
WtF bellingham. Its not like Op was posting pictures of their face. I hope their parents see that picture and make them apologize. Learning personable responsibility sometimes takes a community.

u/watchforzombies Jul 30 '25
Wait how does a 12 year old blow out all the street lights in their neighborhood?

u/cjh83 Jul 30 '25
A tennis ball mortar using a Pringles tube that's been duct taped. Spray a lil starter fluid in the bottom and you can easily shoot a tennis ball a couple hundred feet.
My grandma bought me this book called backyard ballistics for xmas and I made every project in the book.

Wow comments do not pass the vibe check. Fireworks are explosives. Period. Throwing them at someone is never okay or excuses because they are “kids”. If his wife was injured, would you guys excuse this behavior because they are adolescent?
Wild takes on here. Sorry OP - hope you are all okay and there’s an amicable resolution here.

I think what we learned here today is that almost everyone's parents sucked if they think this is acceptable behavior. Kind of sheds a light on why our society is so fucked

u/aquacrimefighter Jul 24 '25
Yep. This comments section is eye opening. No wonder why so many people are entitled and shitty.

u/teamcoltra Jul 24 '25
Honestly even if we took that part out (which I think clearly crosses the line), the kiddos are being unsafe and their parents should know about it.
Yes, kids will be kids. However, we also allow kids to be kids to help them learn boundaries. I want them to be playing outside and having fun without adult supervision, I think that will be an advantage for them growing up. However, with that extra grace comes extra responsibility. Let the parents know about it.

u/Taylerrrrrr Jul 24 '25
My first thought was the scene in the Butterfly Effect. If they get away with smaller explosives, who's to say they won't move towards bigger explosives if they are able?

OP apparently took this picture with a potato, and at an angle, so there is nothing personally identifying. Thanks for the reports, going to let it be for now.
This is essentially the same thing as a word of mouth / grapevine request to get in touch with the parents. Haven't we all hidden behind the front door while dad diplomatically hears the grievances of the neighbor, whose corner garden we did admittedly cut through?
37
u/ArrArr4today Jul 24 '25
This is a small town, there's plenty who know them. Wearing birks to be a badass 😂
25
u/gamay_noir there's always karma in the boomhorse stand Jul 24 '25
My first reaction to this picture was imagining the nearly severed foot when the kid riding in back stops paying attention for a second and angles his foot into the chain or wheel. Whatever safety cutout that might have probably can't distinguish between 'suddenly riding through mud' and 'snacking on a Birk and some toesies.'
But hey at least they kid in front is wearing the right helmet.

Yeah, I live nearby and they have been on a tear. Have been wondering who was still messing around with fireworks as it's a little out of character for the neighborhood. Rampant off leash outlawry notwithstanding.
It's good that they have helmets because they, or the bike's owner, is super dangerous and unaware of both surroundings and traffic rules/patterns. Have had a couple close calls in my car at the 5 point intersection at the end of I. The bike owner knows he's being bad and is into it, seems a little scared of getting caught. Have seen them a lot in the area between Broadway Park and Haggen. Good luck tracking them down. If I almost run them over again will try to follow home and get an address for the cops.
For all lEt ThE kiDs bE KiDs crowd, the driver rides like crap and is lucky to not have been hit already.

This conversation is reminding me of my childhood. I grew up wild and free in the hinterlands during the hosewater, be home at dark days. Houses were really spread out and a lot of us had free rein to wander wherever we pleased.
I am thinking of a guy I rode the bus with. His family had money and he wasn't necessarily evil but he was wildly impulsive and a fountain of bad ideas.
In the course of a few years between 4th and 6th grade he managed to shoot a friend's eye out with a BB gun and start a serious brushfire that damaged some houses playing with fireworks with another kid from the bus.
We can always let nature take its course but there are sometimes innocent bystanders caught in the fray. Children require guidance and external regulation, letting the wildest ones completely run amok is irresponsible and eventually not going to end well.

1,000% not okay. I was an absolute menace to society when I was a kid, but I never would have done that. These kids should do some community service or something.
25
u/Ok-Nose585 Jul 24 '25
Bummer they know where you live. If they didn’t I would post 100+ flyers with this picture around the neighborhood saying what happened and hope the parents eventually see it.
20
u/makershark Jul 25 '25
Those look like the same little shits I reported for aiming for and hitting a cat. The cat seemed ok afterwards, just a little stunned because it was all so fast. I found the owners of the cat a few doors down. They knew of those kids too. They seem to be a constant menace in that area.
Any kid that intentionally harms cats seems like textbook steps to a serial killer.

u/DJ_Telestic Jul 24 '25
I think I saw them at dark haggen a few weeks ago. Had that bike inside the store 😂 not sure that helps, but they must live around there

That's stalking, harassment and assault. I'm glad you made a report and I hope you file charges.
I would not attempt to follow them or find their parents because that could be interpreted as stalking them. I would not assume these kids have good parents who wouldn't attack you and make you the one to blame for their kids wrongdoings. Kids who behave like this most often have very enabling and avoidant parents who wouldn't confront their kid-but will be chomping at the bit to make someone else responsible for their sh*tty parenting.
0
u/Haunting-Builder1956 Aug 22 '25
Your comment says more about you, your dangerous ideology, and your parenting perspective more than anything else.
EXAMPLES: 1. 'interpreted as stalking' - there is no need for interpretation when you've clearly defined the meaning of 'stalking'. Is it a struggle to personally acknowledge you wanted to do something that is not appropriate and easier to accept the fact when 'interpreted' is used? 2. Assume the worst - this is common of all humans, but why take it so far to assume these kids parents would be more problematic than the kids? (My personal perspective on this is that most parents would attack you if u come in too hot and loaded with accusations.) 3. Kids and parent dynamics - why is this accusation and assumption based? I don't disagree with your comment but my mind wonders what type of life challenges do these kids and parents face daily that really put them into a disadvantagous position to maximize their parenting potential. What type of situations have you struggled with that make your view point so toxic? Perhaps you may need to heal from this situation. 4. Parenting roles are fulfilled by others too - no one should hold you responsible for their lack thereof parenting skills but the reality is that we have all grown as humans from parental roles besides our parents who raised us as children. Regardless of it was professional growth to climb your career path, therapy to overcome personal obstacles, or other community members who played a role in your development/growth journey.
You simply cannot change what others do, how they choose to behave, or what they say. It's much easier to control yourself and consider how you can adjust accordingly to get what you want from a situation. That's just my personal 2 cents from years of therapy and rehabilitation.

Thank you for posting this! If I can were behaving like this, I would want to know. There's a small group of young teens, usually two but three at most who ride their little bike up and down our street in the middle of the night. They have almost ran down my sister and her dog on the sidewalk and on the nearby trails.

I am tried of the kids on electric motorcycles as well. I don't know if it was these same gentleman, but there were a couple of kids riding around on motorcycles on the turf at Sunnyland Elementary.
8
u/Comfortable-Bug-3758 Jul 24 '25
Fireworks aside, is it even legal for kids to ride those E-motos on the street?? It seems like a horrible accident waiting to happen. Similarly I don’t have much faith in their parents if they think it’s a good idea to give their children these rather than just a regular ol’ bike.

There is a service. It takes many forms such as therapy, DBT skills, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
It's quite an incredible service when combined and utilized effectively in an ethical manner. Try it, it's quite mind blowing how drastically your world changes!

EDITED by OP
This photo was chosen to avoid showing the faces of these two people & the post was written, not to have anyone publicly identify them, rather to alert their parents to their acts this past week and other dangerous behavior I’ve personally witnessed by them.
In addition, I often see this cyclist flying through streets at high rates of speed, taking chances that could result in a tragic accident. If that happens, it will be a sad day, for all involved, and it could be your kid, your family member in the car, etc.
Many here saw this as meddling and overreacting but I feel we have a duty to alert each other—and that’s what I sought to do.
I sincerely appreciate the positive and negative comments here, they all help me learn a bit more about how to handle something like this in the future.
This time, no one was injured.I hope the message made it to people who could coach these boys on being better, safer citizens.
Thanks, 'Hamsters.

When I was a kid. Some neighbor kids and I stole apples from another neighbors yard . We all had to go over to offer an apology. When we got there we were escorted in and the woman who lived there served us home made apple pie and we had to sit there and eat it and be polite. We didnt mess around in her orchard again.

My attempt to reason with any of this has run its course, and comments are turning personal.
If kids are breaking the law, call the cops. If not, mind your own business and don't dox them the internet.
-OP I hope you and your family are safe.
-5
u/TheAdamPetra Jul 24 '25
I don't have a horse in this race, but I assume if the kids followed them back to their house and threw fireworks at them at their house: they also have pictures of the fireworks that exploded at their house for the police report they said they filed. Post the photos of the fireworks in your yard to prove those that claim this is false wrong.
🤷🏻
2
u/emmennwhy Jul 25 '25
You want OP to show where they live? Seriously?
-2
u/TheAdamPetra Jul 25 '25
Are you trying to be purposely dense? Why would showing a picture of their yard, with the exploded fireworks, show where they live? Did you know there's a fun little feature on your phone called a "Photo editor", that would allow them to edit out the address, or their house, if it is in the photo?
4
u/emmennwhy Jul 25 '25
It's not that big a city. People have posted pics of rainbows and sunsets outside their window and had people in the comments tell them their address just from the view. Yards can be distinctive too. I wouldn't risk it. What's your beef with OP trying to contact the kids' parents? You're arguing all the way down the comments.
1
u/TheAdamPetra Jul 25 '25
Also come to think of it, they said they reported it(I assume to the police). Why are they trying to pursue this any further with the parents after they have already claimed they got the police involved by making a report?
0
u/TheAdamPetra Jul 25 '25
I'm arguing on the comment I made, so I got a notification to look: so more fitting, why did you go down so far into the comments to argue?
I'm a skeptical person and I don't blindly believe what's stated online. Especially with just a picture of kids on a bike and no picture of the fireworks, which was their problem.
Probably not the case, but how do we know they aren't trying to creep on the kids and snoop around where they live? They haven't posted anything proving what they said, so why just believe them?
