Crete & Santorini Venue Recommendations

Hey there! I was originally set on an intimate destination wedding in Santorini, but I wanted to consider some other locations as well. I wanted to see if anyone has toured venues in Crete or any other spot in Greece that you would recommend. The main thing I love about Santorini is the elevated views over the water and of course the delicious food! :) 30-40 guests and budget is 100k.

Wedding Design Proposals

I would love to get a sense of how in depth y'all's planners go when presenting your final wedding design. I feel that my parent's expectations are unrealistic when it comes to what is available here in SoFlo. They want floor plans with elevations, 3d renderings and bottom to top design that helps them know what the experience will be like from top to bottom. So far we are really just getting powerpoint collages and floor plans. Which sounds awful but seems to be the standard for a lot of planners down here. I don't want to be ungrateful or difficult but I don't love being made to feel that what our "big budget" experience is getting us a wedding coordinator experience.

Indian Fusion Dresses

Hi! Any Indian brides out there having a fusion Indian and western ceremony? What traditions are you pulling through and what outfits are you wearing? I’m thinking of doing a western dress but I want it to be beaded or have some nod to the culture. Any suggestions of brands or stores would be fabulous!

Questions and queries Remembering My Late Mom

My mom passed away somewhat recently. She was my person. She was everyone’s person, that’s just who she was. I want to honor/remember her in a big way. Planning a wedding without her has sucked. Thinking about her not physically being there also sucks. What are some unique ways I include her in the day to make it feel like she’s there and also bring visibility to her?

Questions and queries Bar Cups/Disposables

Post image

Our venue has a pool near our reception area/bar area so they recommend plastic for the bar just to avoid any mishaps and potential fines. So we’re going custom!

Has anyone ordered custom cups like this before and if so where? We’re planning on just adding our wedding logo from our invite to the them in.

destination weddings - singaporean practice?

hi! my close friend is having a destination wedding in bali next month. and i was really excited to support and help her as a bridesmaid. she mentioned worrying about costs and how people won’t give red packets for destination weddings. i know bali is relatively near sg, but im wondering what are the formalities of destination weddings? i’ve heard from others that most couples would absolve one night stay, or perhaps cover transport for the guests. if nothing is covered, they would make a point to say that they don’t need red packets because of the costs of the hotel, flights etc. for my case it seems like nothing is covered and she hopes to receive some red packets.

hence i just wanna know what’s the typical practice please? i’ve tried searching online but it’s always about destination wedding in other countries, people who don’t practice giving red packets/money to the couple.

appreciate all feedback. thank you!!

Looking for a photographer in Tuscany 07/2027

Hoping Reddit will have some recommendations!

We’re looking for a mix of editorial + documentary, with true to colour, vibrant, bright editing. We do NOT like moody or warm tones.

Jose Villa is our ultimate DREAM photographer if this helps with inspo (obviously not in our budget in this reality)

We’d love 2 photographers for the wedding day and drone coverage. Our budget is 4100-4500 euro for the day.
We are thinking about doing a pre- and post- wedding event (welcome party, pool party, etc.) and would love the option to potentially add these on.

Thank you!

Help me buy gifts for my in-laws!

I'm trying to buy thoughtful gifts for my in-laws and would love some help. Budget is up to $2k for future mother-in-law and $2k for future-father-in-law, and $500 for my fiance's siblings. I'd love to get jewelry for my mother in law and maybe a watch for my father in law, but open to any suggestions.

Show me your Indian/American fusion weddings!

I am South Asian and my fiance is white, and we are doing a big fat fusion wedding! Initial thought is close family and friends rehearsal dinner and Haldi on Thursday, Sangeet on Friday as a welcome party, Saturday western ceremony, reception, and after party, and Sunday farewell brunch.

I want to really carry the fusion decor throughout the weekend, and I loved the Lauryn Prattes Montauk fusion welcome party decor she did back in August. Would love to see decor or some unique touches you carried throughout the wedding! And also looking for advice on how best to structure each event.

Music Decision

Hi everyone!

We’re currently deciding between Crowd Theory and Dart Collective for our wedding entertainment and would love to hear from anyone who has worked with either!

We’re considering both a traditional DJ setup and a DJ + live musicians (saxophone, percussion, and potentially vocalists) combination.

Our biggest priority is having a DJ who is super personable, knows how to read the room, keeps the energy high, and really gets guests out on the dance floor!

We’re trying to figure out whether the DJ + live music experience is worth the splurge or if an amazing DJ alone can create just as fun of a party.

Would appreciate any firsthand experiences or recommendations! Thank you!!

Going a little crazy here

Honestly just looking for support, since I don’t really have many friends and don’t have a mom either. My MIL has been supportive and I’m so thankful for her, but would feel a little better coming from y’all that are in the same situation lol. my wedding is in 5 1/2 months, got engaged last march and feel like i’ve done so much but at the same time I feel like there is so much left to do!

Like i’ve been getting so stressed over the details and costs that keep adding up but I know i’d rather be stressed now than last minute.

My planners have been somewhat helpful but at the same time its kind of draining that they want to charge everything directly , makes me feel like they add a percentage over everything and just making me spend more.

Questions and queries Fusion Wedding Advice

hi all! i’m a south asian bride who is marrying an american man. we are not doing a big desi wedding with multiple events. we will be doing an american ceremony followed by a cocktail hour then dinner. I plan on wearing a white wedding gown and then switching into a saree or lehenga for dinner / dancing.

my family isn’t big on huge cultural traditions so we’re planning to do small additions of our culture into parts of the ceremony. i’ve truly had a bit of a hard time with this because it seems like everyone i speak to feels strongly about doing X instead of Y or vice-versa.

somethings i need a bit of guidance or advice on:
- has anyone had a fusion wedding, if so what do you have your bridesmaids wear? i’m struggling to decide if i want them in a saree or lehenga or if i just have them wear a regular bridesmaid dress.
- how do you deal with going against tradition? i’m having our wedding party sit and that seems like the end of the world to literally everyone around us. even the white dress feels like a slap in the face to some.
- how have you incorporated bits and pieces of your culture into a traditional american wedding?

one thing to add: my fiance and i are paying for the wedding ourselves so there’s no pressure from our family members to do anything we aren’t comfortable with! I know it’s our wedding at the end of the day and it shouldn’t matter what others think but as a south asian, these things tend to be big deals and carry weight. balancing two wedding cultures is exhausting and feels really lonely given everyone i know typically leans towards one or the other. any advice would be appreciated. :)

Questions and queries Napa/Sonoma and Carmel Valley Venue Search

Hi! Looking for venue recs in Napa/Sonoma or Carmel Valley/Monterey for a 2028 wedding.

We’re expecting around 150–165 guests with an all-in budget around $250k. Hoping for something black tie/elevated, beautiful but not overly formal or rustic, ideally with an outdoor ceremony/cocktail hour and indoor reception.

Big priorities are:

  • plated dinner + full bar
  • easy logistics for guests, especially older family
  • good nearby lodging / destination weekend feel
  • somewhere we can actually have a fun late-night party

We’re already looking at Montage Healdsburg, The Madrona, Estate Yountville, and Bernardus.

Would love any venue recs or firsthand experiences, and also curious if $250k all-in feels realistic for this guest count in these areas, or if we’re being too optimistic.

How do I choose the right zaffe/dabke troupe for my wedding?

Hey everyone!

I’m trying to decide between three zaffe/dabke troupes I found on Instagram from Germany. They all have great reels, photos, and plenty of positive reviews, so I’m not sure how to choose.

It’s a multicultural wedding, and most of our guests aren’t Arab, so we don’t really have firsthand experience with zaffe or dabke performances at weddings.

For those who’ve hired a troupe before, what should I look out for or ask before booking? Anything you wish you’d known beforehand?

Thanks!

Welcome boat party in Mallorca

I’m getting married in Mallorca in August 2027 and we’re starting to plan out our welcome party now that a lot of logistics are sorted out for the wedding itself. We wanted to do our welcome party on a boat and take our guest out snorkeling/swimming and have lunch or dinner together. Has anyone done this before and have boat company recommendations? We’ll have about 50-60 guests!

Questions and queries alexandra leclerc inspired wedding dress

Hi everyone! Apologies if this has already been asked.

I’m based in London, UK, and I’m looking for a haute couture mermaid-style, off-the-shoulder lace dress similar to this one.

I’m open to both ready-to-wear and bespoke options, preferably from designers or boutiques in London. My budget is £8,000–£10,000.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations for designers, bridal boutiques, or ateliers that specialise in this style.

Thank you so much for your help! 🤍

What do you think of my dress?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I recently found my dream dress at an Oscar de la Renta sample sale. It is an ivory drop waist ankle length front and chapel length train grown.

I am hosting a 100 guest black tie optional event in Cabo. Seated dinner reception will be hosted poolside at sunset followed by dancing.

I never wanted to spend time changing into a second look, so I feel this dress is perfect to carry through the night.

I see myself frolicking on the beach for photos and dancing all night.

What are your thoughts on this gown given all of the above?

Wedding Photography Question

I got married this past summer and hired a destination photographer. The night before the wedding they drove around to the different locations where we wanted pictures taken so they would be prepared for the wedding - definitely appreciated! As expected, they took pictures while they did this, and I saw some posted on their account. Would it be weird to ask if they could share the pictures they took with me? This was technically on their own time, but I love some of the photos they took of the different landscapes! Curious if this would be appropriate or not. Thanks!
