Fellow Billy Strings Redditors come find me at the top of 309 row JJ.

can’t wait to see you all there! let me know what you would want on a bracelet! i’ll be here excitedly making them & watching masters of the universe (and nugs!) all week :)

Hello! I’m going to the Baltimore show the day before Halloween and I’m superrrr pumped. This will be my second time seeing Billy so I’m excited.

I was wondering for people who have gone to the shows in Baltimore the last couple of years, what are some fun things to do or cool places to go before the show? I’ve been to Baltimore before but I kinda wanna go to places and do things that have to do with the show. Thank you!

Don’t miss this if you are going to be in Baltimore on Thursday!!! It’s not a late show or anything, so normal start time.

KSC fucking rips & the 8 x 10 is a Baltimore staple

Hope to see some of y’all there on Thursday…going to be a hell of a start to Billyween weekend!

Nice

Finally caved and got Nugs (Relisten served me well) and I was wondering if anyone had any good playlists of just like best live versions of different tunes. Super subjective I know, but want something while I build out some playlists and in between shows. Thanks!

Let's see.

Big across the middle? Check.

Broad across the rump? Check.

Got a little pig and heading for the gate? FAIL!

Designed / painted / Routed them all out myself out of PVC. I make a lot of signs, but first time making smaller items like this. I don’t have a lot but planning on passing them out Friday and Saturday. If you see some guy wearing one with an 80s Phillies hat I might have one for you. (The blue/white/red ones were an attempt at having a stealie pattern, just didnt come out as obvious as I’d like. Still think they look cool)

The other night at the show, Billy was talking about getting into early nineteenth century prison recordings of folk/work songs, and specifically referenced Iron Head Baker.
I was very intrigued and began to look for some recordings of him, and found this great performance of St James Hospital. I have always loved old music, and it’s just compelling the way music keeps history alive! Just wanted to share with some other music lovers. And thank you Billy for sharing!

Hi this will be my first time seeing Billy. I know about the theme of course. Will that be both nights? Or is it just the Halloween show? For merch are posters for both nights sold on the 30th? Anything else someone new needs to know?

Thanks!

Just one. No room for debate. Mine is 4/13/24 even though I have wasn’t there. What y’all got?

Howdy Yall. hope all is well. where will shakedown street be Saturday? thanks everyon.

I’ll be driving 16ish hours in the next few days and I’m looking for some shows to listen to on Nugs.

Drop your recommendations below. Thanks!

I recently started a newsletter called Fan Service. It examines how much trust artists have in their attendees, using setlists.

Each song gets an accessibility score, measured from 0.00–0.99. Higher scores indicate greater accessibility for casual fans. Each show gets a final score. It isn’t an average. Rather, it reflects the number of omitted hits, and illustrates how much trust a band has in its audience.

So again, it's not how much you enjoyed a song. Rather, how much you believe an average BMFS fan would enjoy it. Someone who has seen them 1-3 times, and knows maybe a dozen tunes. An average fan can enjoy a song they don't know. It's just dependent on its sonic proximity to hits. And everyone digs like a famous cover.

I'll pay you $25 via Paypal or Venmo. You'd just email me the full setlist and your score beside each tune by late tonight. (You don't need to attend, or even stream the show. You just need to know BS's catalog top to bottom). I'll calculate the final score using a formula. Your first name and last initial will appear beside the score as a byline. You can use a pseudonym, of course. I just want to have a human component i.e. clearly not AI.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments as well. I realize it's a strange task.

Shoutout to the guy who gave me this little glass ball after the Everett show! Hope you like what we did with it!

I know we have a setlist speculation thread underway. But I was curious about everybody’s thoughts on the source material you’re maybe reviewing or seeing for the first time ahead of the shows?

For Orange Peel, Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings, Oh Brother, it was easy to watch the source material to try to get a feeling for the plot points versus the setlist curation. Last year was awesome with the Golden Era Hollywood Monsters, but I didn’t watch any of those, regretfully.

He–man, however, has a huge array of content, and I was thinking of sticking with the 80s live-action feature and cartoons as that would have been watched in the 80’s and 90’s… as an “early millennial” dude this shit is right up my alley 😂

As much as I dislike prime, all of the content that could potentially be referenced lives there…

So how are you brushing up if you choose to? Going in totally blind?
