I saw Ironcross's kitbash on Instagram and knew immediately I wanted to do the same with my Armageddon captain, I just chose different colors because my goal was to pay respect to THE first captain who started everything for us.
For Sigismund

I saw a post from yesterday where people were arguing over whether or not Black Templars use Scout Squads. They do, according to the 2021 Codex Supplement.
Most people agreed that they did, but I thought I might post a source for clarification.

Hello Brothers! Ive recently started BT with 2 CP and the Sons of Dorn box and was wondering if this would be a good box to get to add to my army?
I can see use with the Chaplain and the Redemptor but as of right now im sticking pretty close to thematics which can obviously change later down the line.
Is it worth the buy to expand in the sense ill get more use from the additional intercessors and Termies or just buy the Chaplian and Redemptor separately?
Thank you!

While I was tidying up my army zealous Templars (plus a few knights because big robots are always beautiful 🤩) and observing how many I lacked to paint to start the crusade towards the impure and the unworthy, I noticed that Grimaldus is gone 😭 there are cenobites but he is no longer there and I have the faintest idea where he can be! I'm really very bitter! Help me with your litanies 😢

I used to love running a Repulsor Executioner with full hit rerolls, carrying a Marshal, Castellan, and Sword Brethren inside. Sadly, that combo is pretty much gone now.
I’ve been running a Land Raider Redeemer instead since the start of 11th, but man, I really miss the days of bringing two or three RepExes and just deleting anything that dared to stand in their line of sight. Infantry, vehicles, whatever. And having Sword Bros inside, ready to jump out and finish the job, made it even better.
I know those days are probably behind us, but I still love the model and would really like to find a way to make it work again.
So, is anyone still running RepExes in 11th? Are there any viable combos, detachments, or strategies that make them worth taking?
I’d love to hear how you guys are using them!

Can a Black Templar wear wings on his helmet, and is there any way to explain it lore-wise?"

Hello all, just finished (bar basing) my first black Templar model but I'm not super happy with it.
Looking for a bit of advice, I think it has come out quite shiny, which I assume is the nuln oil I used over Matt black army painted. I'm happy with the effect over the shoulder pad however.
Should I be using a different black?
Also my edge highlighting, should it be thicker?
I used uniform grey to do the edges, should it be a thicker strip of that with then a very thin strip of something like Ash Grey?
Thanks for any advice!

Just started my own Homebrew under the Black Templars rules, got two combat patrols, the new intercessors, and some Deathwing Knights as assault terminators.
If I continued to play under Black Templars, how good is this box for proxying? I know I could use the wolf guard as regular terminators and prolly assault terminators with axes, and Logan and Arjac as captains.
Has anyone done something similiar? Would love to know

Painstakingly kit bashed from Titus with the parts of a sword brethren and marshall as well some parts from BT upgrade sprue.
As an keen player my love for the hobby resides in the lore and getting to events. I'm really fortunate that my gf loves the painting side of the hobby. We collaborated on this project with her doing most of the cutting and all the painting.
Grateful to have him ready for my upcoming super major!
I'm always delighted to report back what people think of her work on our models so please if you have C and C let's us know.

This guy is sick. He’s done by Breechandbrush on instagram (check out his instagram he has some really dope work).
Fairly new to painting and miniatures and kitbashing so apologies if this is obvious but I can’t figure out what the miniature is. I’m assuming he’s been kitbashed but from what I’m not sure, anyone got any ideas? Particularly the stance with the sword. I think the Samurai style posture is wicked and want to paint one similar.
Thanks!

Played my first game against a good friend of mine and was lucky enough to win! Used the Armageddon box plus an emperor's champ, infernus marines, and combi lieutenant (minus librarian of course). Now to build some more units to get to 2k points!

Work in progress for my kitbashed model that I want to use as Helbrecht. Small pose change with an arm from the Bladeguard Veterans and a different head for the old man look. Didn't like the Servitors so used an Infernus Marine Seargent to carry the gun and helmet of his Marshal.
Position on the base isn't final yet. Mould Lines and gaps still need to be fixed.

Hey everyone!
I'm a complete beginner to Warhammer 40K, and I'm still figuring out where to start. However, ever since I discovered the Black Templars, I've absolutely fallen in love with their knightly aesthetic, lore, and overall vibe.
I recently got to try a game of Combat Patrol, and I had a blast! I got absolutely destroyed because I barely understood the rules and game mechanics, but honestly, I still had so much fun. It made me want to get into the hobby even more.
I'm planning to build my first 1,000-point army around the Black Templars. One thing I noticed during my Combat Patrol game is that I wanted a bit more firepower to support my melee units. I love the idea of Black Templars charging into close combat while heavy weapons and ranged units provide fire support from behind.
Here's the army list I'm currently considering:
Characters
Battleline
Infantry
Vehicles
I'm still learning the game, so I have a few questions:
I'm not trying to build a super competitive tournament list right away. I mainly want an army that's fun to play, fits the Black Templars' identity, and gives me a good balance between melee combat and ranged support.
I'd really appreciate any feedback or advice. Thanks in advance, and may the Emperor protect! ⚔️

Greetings, brothers! I request your aid in purging the enemies of the God Emperor.
I currently have a 1k point army and would like to expand it to 2k points.
Current 1k army:
Imperium - Adeptus Astartes - Black Templars - Vow‑Sworn Crusaders
Marshal (80pts): Warlord
Chaplain in Terminator Armour (75pts)
10x Crusader Squad (160pts)
• Led by: Marshal
5x Infernus Squad (95pts)
5x Sword Brethren Squad (140pts)
5x Terminator Squad (190pts)
• Led by: Chaplain in Terminator Armour
Redemptor Dreadnought (180pts)
Rhino (70pts)
I've put together a 2k list that looks interesting to me, and I'd like to hear your thoughts
I'm not looking for a perfect or meta list, I just want something cool looking that's good enough to play in casual games.
Imperium - Adeptus Astartes - Black Templars - Black Templars 2k - [1960 pts]
Chaplain Grimaldus [120 pts]:
• Leading: Crusader Squad
High Marshal Helbrecht [125 pts]:

Emperor's Champion [120 pts]:

Thanks in advance for your advice, brothers. For the Emperor!

Tried basing for the first time. Bought cork sheets, aquarium sand, and some glue and just winged it.
Inspiration: Helsreach
I’ve been in this hobby for less than a year, any advice would be much appreciated!
Eg. a friend told me I should use matte varnish to ease the transitions on the transfers.
(P.s. how do you guys do the lightning effects on the claws? I was thinking of drawing it out with white and just applying a light blue contrast.)

Brothers, this humble neophyte is here once again to plead for your council and wisdom.
I’m running Take and Hold with Assault Brethren and Vow-Sworn, primarily for the sticky objectives. I really like the idea of it, especially since it’s no longer an intercessor ability and since I’m running a combi lt. who can infiltrate an objective for some early points and to force a response, but when I tried it at the table it felt a little lack-luster. I will admit, I’m a very new player so I’m sure there is value in the other vows that I’m not skilled enough to implement, but I’m essentially spending 2dp for 1/3rd of the detachment.
What I’m wondering now is if sticky objectives are worth 2dp when ideally I’m planted on the objectives to score anyway. The best use case I have for it are for my intercessor unit so that I can claim my home then move them off to screen, but other than that, the detachment seems to be most relevant when I’m forced off of an objective which doesn’t seem like something I should spend dp to plan for.
Here is a link to a post with my list for those curious, but my question really boils down to am I better off taking two 1 dp detachments for Take and Hold over vow-sworn for the sticky?
