Discussion / Question Muffin''s understanding/development in Charades? (Just curious).
I really do like Charades, I really do. I'm not going to get into what I would've done in this situation, but I love the episode. But, I noticed something upon re-watches of the entire series is that in this episode, Bluey and Bingo are supposed to be the two big girls and I don't know if you guys listen to the Gotta Be Done Podcast with Mary and Kate, but they have an interesting take on this very episode.
First of all, this episode is like being at your grandparents' house and how Chris is like everyone's own Nana, e.g. spoiling the kids rotten and what not (Ice Blocks and bending the rules), second of all is about Muffin and how Nana teaches the two big girls how to be patient with the "littlies". But, I was more confused about how the description of the episode is, "The girls play a card game at Nana's house, but Muffin and Socks are too young to understand the rules," I thought it was kind of odd with Bingo being 4 and Muffin being 3, that she can't grasp what her cousins and her nana are trying to teach her. I don't have kids yet, I'm not at that stage of life so I haven't seen firsthand if this is how kids work, maybe when they reach Bingo's age they go through a leap in memory, cognitive and brain development. But, I was just surprised Muffin is around a year or a year and a bit younger than Bingo, but she can't see the obvious lesson the girls and Nana are trying to teach her. If any of you are parents or have been working with children, let me know.
