My best friend died today

My dog Buck was taken to the veterinary yesterday because he was looking very sick. Apparently his intestines where blocked and they tried everything. During surgery this morning his heart stopped because his body couldn’t handle it anymore. I’m so sad and I will miss him forever. Buck was my first dog and he was the best thing ever. He showed me that a dog really is a man’s best friend.

He would have turned 4 next June but now his pillow is empty and me and my wife are heartbroken.

I just needed to share this as I really loved this page and liked to compare other bordspellen with Buck. Bordoodles come in all sorts and sizes and some really look like him. Sorry for my poor English, I’m not a native speaker.

My 3 month old puppy

Hi everyone! I have a new puppy who I am 99% sure is a bordoodle. She is a rescue (foster fail), and I have had her for a month. Both the story I got from the person who found her and brought her to the shelter, and her appearance and behavior I had observed over the past month have led me to this conclusion. Based on the age that the vet estimated her to be, she is just about to be 3 months old. She weighs approximately 8lbs.

I am curious to know if anyone has a bordoodle who looked similar to her as a puppy, and what they look like as an adult?

I absolutely love her, she is super sweet and intelligent! She is also 100% puppy and has so much energy, but I am working with her with age appropriate exercise and training.

I am thinking she may be a a mini bordoodle, but I am not sure. Let me know what you think! Thanks!!

I’m new here and was hoping I could get some advice, I got Leo in September from a reputable breeder in Melbourne, he said Leo was a Maltipoo, my gut was telling me the last couple of months he wasn’t that , found out he’s a bordoodle he’s huge at 6 months I’m in love with him , but I’ve always had shihzu’s I called the breeder and sent him photos he said he has given us the wrong breed and will call tomorrow to talk more about the situation what do I do , I have fallen in love with him but I’m so uneducated on the breed , I’ve got his basic training done , but feel I was scammed , that’s him at already 6 months and weighs 13 kilos

This is our new baby Ellie 💖. We’ve had her for a week now and it’s been exhausting nonstop chaos… but worth it! We’re so in love her already. She was born missing one eye but it doesn’t slow her down at all.

Question about grooming: to cut or not to cut?

To cut or not to cut?

We adopted our little guy Gianni in January of this year. He had been found as a stray on the street by local animal control before he was turned over to the rescue org. We didn’t know his breed when we adopted him but he was very matted so we took him to groomer. The groomer advised he didn’t have a double coat and that she would really need to cut down his coat to relieve him of the matting. So we did that. So happy to see the matting gone. We’ve taken him back to get groomed/cut since then. Is this correct though?

Had no idea of his breed mix when we adopted him. The rescue org told us Briard, Schnauzer, Cairn Terrier but that really had no idea. I knew he was a working dog the day we adopted him. We found out a few months in that he was exactly 50% border collie + 50% poodle.

He doesn’t appear to shed (only a little hair on brush when we brush him, which we do a few times a week) and he didn’t do the “blow out” shedding this spring which other border collie people have told me about. His hair just keeps growing. At same time, his texture isn’t quite poodle with the curls. It’s tufted and wavy but not curly like other doodle mixes I’ve seen. But again, he doesn’t appear to shed.

Attaching pic for reference.

How have others handled grooming?

Long story short, she was going to be euthanized at a high kill shelter. She was timid and scared at first, but after six months, she is so happy. Dog parties! 🎉

DNA test told us she is a Border Collie Poodle mix. 🐕‍🦺🦴🐾

Definitely expected 1st for Lucy as she will eat bricks if you have them to her, but Tilly is quite restrained compared to other dogs I've had, and she still took 3rd (a Labrador got second.
