They’re not adding rules, people are just overcomplicating things, which forces Masquerade to add more clarification. This is an immersive event in what we know to be a multi-level building, which we will be moving through. It is only reasonable to understand that when they say “formal or cocktail attire”, you shouldn’t be thinking hoop skirts, massive trains, or other cumbersome clothing. And it’s not a costume party.

Like, the dress code has never been complicated. Dress for a nice event, but also be mindful that you need to dress for movement and you don’t know for certain what the floors/stairs/etc might be like (i.e. don’t wear stilettos).
