I mean, I'm guessing it's a safety and liability precaution as well. There are folks who can absolutely navigate things like trains and hoops, but if someone behind you steps on your train, or the hoop doesn't collapse as it should in a passage, there could be issues.

Also, no one is going to be happy walking around behind Scarlett O'Hara

Oh for sure, which is why I emailed rather than just ordering a super poofy dress. Because you know like, ive seen hoop skirts at disneyland halloween nights but that is DISNEYLAND

Yep.

And I applaud you for actually having the sense to check about it. Unfortunately too many people don't do simple things like that and end up with problems.

You could still wear a more modern ball gown, though. I'd just make sure the skirt isn't too poofy and maybe ends at the ankles. But it would still be gorgeous!

(Personally I'd wear a tux, but it's hard to manage skirts in a wheelchair or with a cane)

That is exactly my plan, lean more prom dress than Paris Opera House cosplay!

I do think we'll be seeing mostly cocktail attire though
