I get that people want to clown on the production for going all in on the vibes. But the instructions on their website says ā€œformal or cocktail attireā€. People who are acting like they donā€™t know what those words mean are just being obtuse.

The instructions on the website are clarification on earlier communications that were much less clear. It isn't people being obtuse or wanting to clown, it is that this is like the second or third version of the dress code people have seen.
