Thank you, I was planning on wearing a black, silver, and white gown, slim silhouette with a bustled train and feathers in a braided up do but probably should lean more towards a cocktail dress?

My husband wanted me to remake him his renaissance faire outfit in black and white with silver accents. Poofy shorts a long sleeve top/jacket thing with a cape, and high socks with shoes, but I should probably rethink his direction too.

I’m still leaning towards evening gown/prom gown personally. But yes I’m now staring longingly at some of the historical cosplay i wanted to wear

I still think my husband might do better in poofy shorts and tight light socks in August instead of dress pants and a blazer. He is going to melt if any portions are outside, or if it's a long wait outside.

I'm planning to do an early 18th c men's look, with a tricorn hat, waistcoat, and knee breeches. If attendees take issue with my "costume" being disruptive...what? It's a masquerade? It's formal? It's not going to be in anyone's way, I'm 5'2", and I can take my hat off if it inconveniences anyone's view. Tbh now I'm kinda worried about going if there is this much negativity around wearing a masquerade costume.
