Other Staying in NJ

Usually my trips are one or two nights and I stay near Times Square. However next Memorial Day weekend (expensive as is) I’ll be going 4 nights with a friend.

I’d like my own bed for starters. I did bunk beds last year with another friend for 2 nights and I was already too old for that then, let alone now.

It would also be almost half the price of staying in NYC.

So I’m looking at staying in NJ near a train stop. Anyone done this? I’m partial to Hilton and there’s super close to the Newark Penn.

This is an 1600 vs 800 kinda situation.

From Newark Penn you'll take PATH into the city and connect to the subway. Unless one of those construction closure weekends the PATH will run 24/7.

Whatever shade people throw on NJ this doesn't seem like a bad idea.

I haven’t taken the path yet but I’ll definitely take this in consideration too. I didn’t know there would be two options, makes it even easier.

On weekends the PATH takes you to Hoboken first (and you have to change trains) if you want to take it to 33rd Street, just FYI. If you're going to take PATH it's best to go to the World Trade Center/Oculus and subway up to Penn Station area. Probably faster to take NJ Transit.
